  • For that slight thiness VERY SLIGHT you have less ammo to fight with a FAT negative in my book.

  • very helpful

  • Pps...'police pistol slim'. I love the sights on that gun... $500 now at Buds... Heck of a deal...

  • @desperatleyseekingap, can you share what specifically bad things you've heard about them? I agree they're priced a little high, but don't mind too much for a single purchase. I love the way they feel & the size and am strongly leaning toward one. Thanks.

  • PPS = "PLASTIC PIECE of SHIT"

  • @desperatleyseekingap I thought all the "plastic guns are crap" dino's had faded away. Guess not ;)

  • @zzoot I don't have a problem with plastic guns, I just don't like the walther, I have heard too many bad things about them, plus they're way overpriced for what they are. I work in the gun industry and that's we call the PPS. Very fitting, since we have become quite the acronym based society.

  • @desperatleyseekingap Ok, I hear you better now. I jumped to conclusions which as you know, is the thing to do here on YT. I've only had minor use of a Walther. A Little P22 years ago. It was fine for what it was but it wasn't much. Take care!

  • You said that you can feel the cocked striker on the back of the XD and thats an advantage. The chamber loaded indicator on a Walther PPS is on the right hand side of the slide just rear of the barrel. Also with the Walther you can see the bullet through the top of the chamber (not good at night but that is what the tactile loaded indicator on the side is for). Just thought id mention it if you hadnt already figured it out.

  • i think alota comments are made by teenagers on the gun reviews

  • The "grip" argument is kind of a moot point since the walther comes with 3 different size backstraps you can put on. (and they come with the gun; its not an "accessory" you have to buy later) But, I'll counter that with I have longer fingers and just really don't like thin grips. For CCW purposes I like walthers better than glocks, and I like the p99 more than the pps... the pps is not really all that much smaller than a p99. its definatly thinner so you don't "print" as much. to each their own

  • I still prefer my chunky ol 1911. Seven shots of(What might as well be) magnum goodness. 11mm beats 9mm any day lol.

  • yo i have a question are u allowed to own a glock or a p99 walther in canada i know u need ristricted and non ristriced licence but i plan to get 1 i need to know if there legal in canada to own

  • @16marksman16 Ur too young kiddo. But ya got a few years to move to the greatest country on earth, AMURICKA.

  • What's the flashlight on your XD?

  • A fair comparison of two good weapons. For their entended purpose, the PPS is unsurpassed.

  • Good points on the Springfield and the Walther. I've shot both and the Walther has a much more slender grip. The one I shot also had a safety, which is a rarity among sidearms nowadays. I've never shot a Glock, although they certainly have a fine reputation.

  • if you paid more than $500 for a glock then you got robbed unless its a generation 4, which are about 50-100 more in price. the xd is basically glocks biggest competitor and the price is about the same.

  • glocks would never make a single stack 9mm because it goe against their entire purpose. they make side arms for law enforcement that allow you to carry 18 rounds in a normal sized handgun. if they were to make a single stack handgun, they would most likely have to redo the mag well and the frame and then its not a glock anymore. the walther pps 9mm sc now days goes for $650 new plus tax, but ive seen them for $780. i paid $500 for mine off of a forum.

  • @jiglei89 Then why do they make a G36? Its a single stack .45 with only six rounds.

  • What p99 is that? it looks different

  • glock???????????

  • Some one knows to much about guns

  • Good video, the thinness is intriguing.

  • glock 27 ftw much better

watlher used the glock idea so did springfield on their xd series

built like a "glock" but only glocks are real glock

  • @feverlead Walter is higher quality and more accurate and reliable. Sorry kiddo.

  • isn't it pronounced valther?

  • @gameboy595 so what

  • both nice guns but glack all the way..

  • Glock has better barrel to slide length ratio

  • Too bad Glock has not come to its senses and made a pocket gun or a single stack 9MM - I used to think Glock was genius but dam.....What a loss of a marketplace on their part ...

  • I actually own all three, as well. (Thought I was the only one! Lol.) With those three, I hate to give up my XD-40 for a 9mm, but about 3 seconds after wearing the Walther, I forget that it's there. So damn comfortable with ANY clothing. The XD is such a beast, size-wise, in comparison. The situation, or my mood, will dictate which I carry. I just bought a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II .45 1911. Carrying 1911's? Whole 'nuther video to make, but I enjoyed yours. Well done.

  • My only complaint with the PPS is that you can get bit by the magazine baseplates (the extended ones) when you insert it quickly. Other than that I was quite surprised at how easy the felt recoil on it was (.40S&W) For some reason small 9mm's feel too "snappy" for me, but the .40 is more tolerable.

  • there all shit!!!

  • Good comparison video, thanks!

  • is there a part 2

  • It was originally a longer video but it wouldn't upload so I cut it down a little. There is a lot more stuff I could have said.

  • great video man...

    like how you compared it

to the glock and the xd.

  • how much did the glock cost and the walther pps

  • @TheJulian290 The glock was about $500 and the PPS was about $700. Both were bought at gun shows.

  • wow you got ripped on that pps!!! ive seen them new for way less. hell i bought a brand new p99 as for $600 at a gun show!!

  • I got it when it first came out and they were rare so I had to pay MSRP. It was actually about 650 but the premium shops at gun shows charge tax too.

  • man that sucks, i wonder if they have worked the kinks out? My p99 hasn't had any problem with any 9mm i put through it, however my p22 started out working flawlessly then for about a year started to be very particular about ammo and jam alot, but recently started working flawlessly again.

  • don't pay more than $500 for the pps

  • wat the hell is that button on the gun with the laser

  • @TheJulian290 if you are talking about the button on the back of the XD's grip, that is the grip safety. The trigger won't fire unless the button is pushed in.

  • How is the PPS after being buried in mud, sand, frozen, thrown out of a car, dragged behind a car, etc.? Do they keep firing?

  • @earthlazarus no silly only Glocks can do that lol

  • are they both staggered magazines? or is the Walther single stack?.........because that will always be a obvious difference in handle width

  • I mention at the very end that the walther is a single stack.

  • I've never heard a good reason to hate the XD. I LOVE mine. The safety feature on the back has never been an issue, and was actually a deciding factor in buying it.

It shoots exactly where I point it every time.

The only reason I dont like Glocks is due to the size of my hands. The PPS will be my next gun. So what if its ammo picky, just get what works.

  • when XD grows up its wants to be a 1911 lol

  • yo i got a walther pps and a walther p99 and neither of them have ever jamed on me. but i also have a glock 19 17 and 27. and i think all of them are way more accurate and i would keep the glock any day over this gun

  • @mikemackson425 i hate XDs i had one then i soled it for a glock

  • lol i carry a glock in da holster whore so come pulling ur garbage shit out on me please

  • Go out and try the PPS. It's MUCH more accurate than a Glock, and a lot better for concealed carry since it's not nearly as thick. Stop trying to act the "tough guy" by cursing and just realize that by cursing on here, you only make people think you're ignorant and can't come up with a better replacement for your trash talk. You aren't bringing any argument to the table. Start a debate instead of acting like a kid.

  • acting like a kid? lol alright well if u say so pussy but umm i doubt a kid is able to do 1/4 of the shit i get into...i never said i acted like a tough guy but if ats the impression i send then great...i'd smack u in the face like the lil bitch u r if i ever met you

  • @86turkishman shut the f**k up you ignorant cunt lol. You sound like a imagture 12 yrs old. You probably carry a nerf pistol haha. Probably been watching too many glock videos, so the only gun you know is the glock. Your a fag go do some more research douche bag.

  • fuck walther they jam

  • Hmm, I have fired over 3k rounds with my Walther PPS 40 S&W and zero jams. I haven't even cleaned it for 400 rounds (so far) to see when it will jam.

  • lol yeah man i carry a glock 19 od green nd i ain't crying for shit...i don't give a fuck really...nd fuck springfield xd's with that safety feature on the handle that may cost u ur life in a high stress situation...ats y all da manufaturers try to copy their models after glock with looks nd not to mentions the polymer frames nd design lol so no we aren't crying cause we know we have superiority...see u at the range bitch

  • All the Glock fan-boys are crying because someone has made a better, easier to carry, easier to shoot weapon system. Not to mention its made by Walther and Smith & Wesson. I've owned both and I still own the Walther. Sold the Glock to someone who drives a Miata if that tells you anything. Buy a gun after doing research into how it will be used. A Glock is fine if its going to sit at the house and never be put in a holster.

BTW, the Glock is 3/10 " thicker than the PPS.

  • @Stylensky -- No part of the gun is made by S&W. They are the importers. It's just that S&W is apparently so vain they put their name on the gun just as big as Walther's. I'm thinking about getting one but that's one thing that irritates me.

  • @Stylensky

It's not made by Smith & Wesson, it's only imported through them so they stuck their name on it. It's 100% German. The PPS is also a very ammo-picky weapon, unlike the Glock and P99 (The PPS' older brother). Not a bad pistol with the right ammo, but I'd rather have a Glock for the money.

  • I like glocks but the way people talk about them over other guns is like they some scary ass people

  • stick with the glock 27

  • shut up nobber, he should be pistol whipping gangsters, terrorists or hillbillies with them. "

    hilarious

  • i'll stay with the glock, they pretty much got it right.

  • I'm surprised Glock hasn't made a single stack 9mm.

  • Wait a while before getting a PPS. I was going to buy one, till my local gun shop said not to. There are many other pistols out there for conceal carry that are better for the price.

  • How does the PPS compare to the G36? I know..different caliber but fairly similar design and round count.

  • Why are you rubbing three fine, expensive weapons together? You should treat them better.

  • shut up nobber, he should be pistol whipping gangsters, terrorists or hillbillies with them. these are weapons, not pieces of art or antiques, keep them clean, and working, not pristine.

  • Need a little advise.. Walther PPS good for individuals with small hands?

  • Yes..

  • can you do a comparison between the PPS and a Kahr PM40? Trying to decide which one to get for pocket carry...

  • I got that same place mat from World Market. Oh, something less gay... guns and girls! yeehaw!

  • Wal ther????

  • ill take the glock

  • I sold my XD9 subcompact and bought the Walther PPS in 9mm for concealed carry. No regrets. The PPS is an amazing pistol for its size and extremely concealed carry friendly. Shoots very well.

  • I am a survivor of Leukemia, my mom is a survivor of breast cancer and I just lost my dad to lung cancer.

  • some people should really watch what they say wow

  • I'm Sorry for your Loss.

  • You must have pretty small hands. I would like to carry a smaller grip/frame like that but my pinky has nowhere to go on a G27 so I carry the G23. Are those all chambered in .40 and if so, why have three different guns that all do the same thing? Just for collection sake?

    Thanks for posting.

  • The XD and the PPS are both 9mm. I sold the XD.

  • I don't have a Hand Gun yet, but when I do go get one I will probally geta Sig p226, 229, or a Beretta storm. I hate the Glock and the XD, No sex Appeal,LOL.

  • LOL...I have a Sig P226, by far the best pistol I own!

  • I bet bro I held one and it felt like it was making love to my hand. I Shot one and i almost......Never mind. BTW mostly my first Pistol it is sweet and it's all steel, which I prefer rather than that Polymer BS. I can't Stand Glocks! Everyone has one!

  • Have to agree, I have a Glock 23 and it rattles your hands every time you shoot it. The weight of the Sig makes it a nice shoot, low recoil!

  • Why is it a Glock looks like it's going to blow up everytime you shoot it! LOL Sig al the way!

  • Agreed, Sig is a gun, Glock is a toy.

  • I know it's expensive, but tell me what do you think about the FH Five SeveN?

BTW, I still agree about the Toy Glock.

  • I've heard good things about it, but for me, for the money I'd go H&K.

  • I had just picked up a pps and the finish on slide doesnt seem to hold up real well. anyone else notice this?

  • Modern 9mms can match hot .40, the latter for my HKs. Check out CorBon DPX. Also, for the PPS use 8 round mags, fits the hand better and on a flat pistol print through is not an issue. Finally, a great nylonn holster co., order No 10 for the PPS and get the retention straps:

    WRBUSA 888 824 2899

  • HKs cost more. There is a good reason why it costs more. Quality. It is utterly reliable and is made of BETTER materials. So are many Sigs. Glocks and others in the polymer camp cannot make that claim. PDs order lots of Glocks because they are rarely used in combat (shootouts), and because they are cheap. I agree that the PPS fits my hand at least, perfectly. It is an ideal conceal weapon, aims well, shoots well. As for the backstrap failing, I know of no such ever happening. PPS is terrific.

  • How do you like the trigger on your PPS? I heard it's like a double-action but has a light pull, but some say a lot of travel.

I haven't shot any, but want to shoot the PPS, the Sig P239, and the Kimber Ultra Carry 2. right now, I favor the pps b/c it's so small and it's advertised as a consistent light trigger pull without the added safeties on the 1911, less recoil too.

I want it for CCW, home defense, and (mostly) to have some fun at the range. It would be my only pistol.

  • "HKs cost more. There is a good reason why it costs more. Quality. It is utterly reliable and is made of BETTER materials. So are many Sigs. Glocks and others in the polymer camp cannot make that claim."

You are a dumbass. They are all polymer frame handguns with steel slides. If you'd handled an example of each brand you'd notice they're made from the exact same materials. You're paying for brand recognition.

  • which is more fun to shoot? I have already shot the glock .40, but I dont think I have ever even seen a pps.

  • I like my PPS better.

  • lol

  • most likely

  • HK polymer preceded Glock by years. HK is a far superior and higher quality weapon than the Glock. One of the reasons it costs far more. The superior materials is the other reason. There is no evidence that Glock is "more reliable" than any of the others, XD, S&W, Walther. There IS, evidence that the Glock is less reliable. That is why the military or FBI won't even consider it and Homeland Sec. adopted HK. HK even improves problematic weapons like the M16...U Tube: Future Weapons HK 416.

  • MediaCop is right. HK is actually the best weapon company, exept for competion guns (like IPSC).

  • HK isn't "far superior and higher quality" compared to a Glock... it just costs more.

    Plastic is plastic guy.

I've owned both types of pistols for years (unlike you). HK's look cooler and are featured in more video games but Glocks will go 'bang' everytime you pull the trigger just like an HK or Sig will.

  • People have buried Glocks in mud, sand, frozen them, thrown them out of cars, dragged them behind cars and they all KEEP FIRING. Do a little research first before you open that cock holster you call a mouth.

And if you don't think the Beretta is a "COMBAT weapon" tell me what 9mm pistol every US Army and Marine soldier in Iraq is carrying right now?

And finally you're smoking crack if you think any Glock is more accurate than a Mk23 (which I don't believe you own).

    ThroatSlitta = Owned

  • Hehehe

Agreed. The FBI has done extensive testing on the Glock and it is surely a "combat" weapon. I have used and been issued the Beretta M9, and I can assure you that it is ready to rock and roll in all conditions.

  • I believe on youtube there is a video of a Glock firing underwater...

Lets see your HK do that, haha.

  • As of April 2009, the standard sidearm issued to FBI is a Glock model 22 in .40 caliber.

  • The FBI issues Glock 22 as well as many other federal agencies. Most are going to 31 and 32's. The reason Glock cannot be issued to our military is in the military contract it says the firearm MUST have a thumb safety and Gaston Glock said no as well as the company MUST put a manufacturing plan on our soil and again Gaston Glock said NO.

  • what is the best one? Walter?

  • A Glock is only 0.12" thicker, but it's shorter in length and height (despite having a longer barrel and better sight radius), has a much better capacity, a lighter trigger, is the same weight, has less muzzle flip, has better parts availability, is easier to field strip, is more accurate and is MUCH more reliable.

If you want to get hung up on a tenth of an inch of thickness, the Walther stands a chance against Glock. If that doesn't bother you, the Glock is better in nearly every way.

  • Yes, it's a Hrvatski Samokres pistol from Croatia but Springfield buys them and re-badges them as the XD. Later in the video I bring out the Glock. The first polymer framed pistol was an H&K VP70. Whats a nob?

  • "nob" or "noob" what he may of been trying to get at, is a term that people who cant seperate their video game life from real life and assume everyone talks like video game lifers use

  • it WAS an HK, look it up son

  • Yep the HK VP70 was the first polymer framed handgun, in 1970. Then there was the Steyr GB in 1974. The Glock 17 didn't arrive until 1980.

  • That second gun you pulled out (the springfield?) is huge!

  • The PPS makes the XD look like a fatty. But I did find the XD sub compact is a little big for CC.

  • IS that the xd sub compact or xd compact?

  • it's a 9mm sub compact XD. The compact only comes in 45ACP

  • good review, thanx

  • how much does the clip hold on the pps .45

  • The PPS only comes in 9mm and .40S&W. They both come with two mags. The .40S&W holds 5&6 where the 9mm mags hold 6&7 . Optional 7(.40) or 8(9mm) round mags are available separate.

  • thank you,

Im going to get one at our next gun show. I was looking at it last year, but this year im getting it.

    thank you again

  • halo commercial in background 2:30

  • Ive heard the PPS' are experiencing spotty reliability.

  • I have had one for some time - I have 2 other Walthers as well - both P99s - and I have put all types of 40 cal ammo through the PPS without a single issue. The guys that run the range here can't keep them in stock. They also haven't had a single customer report a problem. I carry concealed here and I can place the PPS in clothing I couldn't get away with from other guns, including the Glock.

  • i got a beretta px4 storm type F 9mm ,springfield xd-9 tactical,springfield bi tone xd9,springfield xd-45, fn-9 bi tone,smith&wesson m&p 45,s&w 66 stainless 357/38,glock 17 stainless,glock 22,glock 21,glock 32,kahr k9, kahr mk9,kahr mk40,kahr p45,guardian 380,amt backup 380, and hopefully a walther pps 9mm i have a pretty low budget and im sure with the walther name its got a hefty price tag but obviously ill find a way to get myself one of these gems asap, if not anyone wts theirs?

  • your thumb is so dirty, pleas wash it. k thx by

  • I like the feel and look of the Walther P99. But I carry the Glock 26 non stop. It comes down to mag capasity. Glock is still raining champ.

  • Springfields= glock copy and made in Croatia crap.

  • I don't know why everyone loves the XD so damn much. They feel like crap in my hand, IMO. I also hate the stupid grip safety. I can deal with a grip safety on the 1911 and the UZI, that's it. I'm between a PPS and a Kahr CW40/P40 for CCW.

  • I guess it comes down to your hand size but the more you shoot the XD the more you will love it. The XD45 is still the most consistent/accurate gun in it's class I have ever used.

  • Man it is about personal preference. I cannot shoot an XD because of the way if feels in my hand. They go wild with constant inconsistent shots. Others shoot them great. The best thing to dow while picking a pistol is figure which one feels best in your hand. The better it feels the better you will shoot it.

  • Just because Glock made the polymer frame popular does not mean they are the best. After shooting Glocks, XD's, HK's, etc. I can tell you the Glocks are my least favorite. I just don't get tight groups with the Glock like I do with say an XD. The XD is just incredible. I would have to say this Walther PPS is the best subcompact in its class. But XD 45 is so much better than Glock 45.

  • hk made the first polymer pistol

  • You obviously don't own one.

  • I've owned a .40 P99 since '98 (my 21st birthday....just realized my first handgun was 10 yrs. old last week!)

I usually carry a Kahr MK40, but have been looking to lighten my carry weight. My father-in-law loves his PM9 (and I sure do like my MK40), but the PPS certainly interests me as well.

The Springfield XD sub-compact would make a nice choice for my center console vault though.

So many choices! So infrequent that I can afford them!

  • I have the PPS and I'll bet my life on its reliability. I carry it on a daily basis. You can't go wrong with a German pistol!

  • I owned a Kahr PM9, it jammed more than it fired. I would not trust it with my life. I would take that walther with me since the width and reliability are both huge factors.

  • That's too bad. I've heard of a few spring breakage issues with the PM40, but no complaints about the PM9.

Nothing sucks worse than a gun that jams even once or twice. That's confidence you CAN'T get back! I really like my Kahr, but I don't blame you one bit for getting rid of yours if you don't trust it!

  • Kahr pm9 is by far a better conceal carry gun than any of these

  • Awesome, thanks for this. Because of you I decided on the PPS today. I have a 232 and G26 but wanted something durable and slim, you answered that exact question. FWIW, Active duty mil guys, S&W gives mil pricing on these, dload the Fed agent form and submit with mil ID. Thanks hibbs.

  • Excellent comparison video. One of the best I have seen on here.

  • GREAT comparison vid...i think youve just made up my mind.....just applied for my georgia firearms permit this week...

  • its a glock not s springfeild xd

  • GLOCKS FTW

  • how much did you pay for the PPS?

  • I think I paid $580.

  • Well I sold my XD9 sub compact for a Walther PPS. The PPS is a much better carry pistol. The XD is an awsome pistol but for it's size the subcompact is a better frame for .40 cal. If you wanted a .40 I would say go with the XD sub compact but if you want a 9mm, go with the PPS or a Glock 26 if you want to save some money.

  • wow. springfields a fat motherfucker.

  • its fat, and it drives tacks at 30 yds. Especially the 5" Tactical. :)

  • yes! the XD is a sweet handgun... but the PPS is almost perfect for concealed carry. you want something small and powerful enough to stop someone. plus and attacker wont be at 30yds when he/she decides to attack. unless they want a shoot out, and that could mean they might lose. so being close enough for a knife or get the surprise attack is key in becoming more of a threat to their victim and less chance they will get into a firefight. i'm not saying accuracy isn't required, its highly required

  • I am in complete agreement with you on this. My girlfriend and I both are going to buy a Walther PPS in .40 S&W in the near future for just this purpose. We like to call the PPS the "noisy cricket", lol. I carry a Glock 23 as my concealed carry weapon.

  • yeah, i carry a glock 22!... not so concealable what so ever. but its not so bad during the winter. i'm also going the PPS route. noisy cricket! haha nicely.

  • What is your personal favorite? I can't decided between the two. G26 is pretty well a standard carry, PPS is a lot thinner, and I don't care for the XD's. I'm stuck on those two.

  • G27 is a .40, this particular PPS is 9mm but they also come in .40

  • isnt the G27 a .45 and the PPS 9mm?

  • the pps i mean

  • it's a nice little pistol. Quick, small and it looks cool.

  • im looking at getting one of these soon. How do you like shooting it?

  • what is with the springfield xd personally i think its like a giant block not confertable to me but im sure its a great firearm

  • No, I haven't had a chance. I tested the new Ruger LCP in .380, and it is very similar. It felt almost too small but it is affordable and an awesome size for carry. I'll plan on checking out that Kel-tec pf-9 asap.

  • have you tryed the Kel-Tec PF-9 ?? The PPS is similar in size to the Kel-Tec PF-9 !!

  • H&K P7 is the same size and as thin as the PPS except its just to expensive. It's be cool though if someone did a video comparing the two. Nice guns either way.

  • the night sights on the PPS look way bigger and brighter than on the Glock.

  • Neither of those have Night Sights. They are simply the standard white dot sights. True Night Sights use Tritium vials that glow in the dark.
