  • Art institutions are Dictatorial, this what we are fighting against,

Art itself is one act of truth of our lives experience n dreams n living, one exposure , memories collectors, accumulation of energy's, expression in life, essential for well being. Is a food for heeling Thank U for performance show, thou I think yours description of event made it much more interesting n exciting than if we were there. Luv n Peace Dahlia

  • our friend, a prolific painter and sculptor in his 70's introduced us to the art of jonathan meese, bringing us to the mead museum. he wanted to experience our experience of meese's installation. he asked a uniformed guard to please raise the almost inaudible volume of a video monitor showing meese in action so that we could hear it. the guard did, but then hovered officiously, eyeing us with open displeasure. at one point he marched in ,told us the sound was disturbing other patrons.

    achtung!

  • You are quite excited and enthusiasmed sockyyy!

its good to go out and see what we want to see!

    nice boots btw...

don't worry .. your video is doing well.. big hug!!

  • concha, so good to hear fr you! & oh, i was! it was a big event for me, to be going out, at night, to the theatre! i felt like a surrealist cinderella (cenicienta? m'entiendes?) in my fur slippers, very avant-glamorous. please believe i would never own such footgear were in not for the women at the free store who urged me to try them on, they fit no one else. my little feet slipped into them without squeezing or straining. i wear them ceremonially, for special occasions & shamanic journeys-hug!

  • but on a positive note

    all dictators come crashing down

just make sure, You, are not below them!

  • Art lives!

You should get out more to spend nothing on free stuff.

  • i want my front teeth and a grease car. then i'll paint th town red!

  • I loved your description. And I wonder if this event was a bit John Cagey. It makes one think. Good!

  • oh, yes, it did, ida, my brain is still all lit up. i haven't described the half of it, the aftermath, the ripple effect, the spate of visions and inspirations it fed into and energized in me, and in norman.

and yes, the piece did remind me, nostalgically, of cage et al. and of that protest movement in the 60's wherein artists began to create multi-media event/environments called happenings, art/life boundary-blurring, convention defying, refreshment and restoration of the meaning of art

  • That stage looked like my house half of the time. That's about how I keep my things organized. I guessing it was one hell of a show!

  • yep. made me feel right at home, too

but in retrospect it also evoked xmas morning, also somehow the end of the world as we know it
