Shutter Island was a good film, indeed, but it was all about already seen things, nothing new, and the way they portrayed the relationship between the principal character (I don't remember his name, right now) and his wife was PATHETIC. Cobb/Mal relationship makes hearts bleed, it's just so heartbreaking i don't even know what to say about it. And Nolan is one of the greatest director ever. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, MEMENTO. Just deal with it.

The nature and implications of the Cobb/Mal relationship did not register emotionally with me at all, whether as that of 'Shutter Island' was simply not as prominent a component. Additionally, 'Shutter Island' had a far more entrancing visual style and intriguing screenplay. I will ameliorate the impression that I left concerning my view of Christopher Nolan, though; he is an excellent filmmaker, but I just think 'The Sixth Sense' is better than any of his films.

Inception is by far my favorite movie. I only had to watch it once, because my friend made me think it was super confusing (which it really wasn't) so I was overthinking everything. It's one of the few true epics of this decade.

@mesmiths I liked Signs and Lady in the Water. They were senseless but interesting. But The Happening was terrifying: it was like smearing shit on a canvas and saying its art. I would never walk out of a cinema after paying €10 for a ticket, so I was pissed off that I still had half a movie to sit through when they said "It's the plants!"

So what conclusion did you make? I personally think the catharsis is real either way.If the whole movie is a dream, then the dream is a reality of its own.No point saying otherwize.It's like trying to tell a comatose victim who will be dreaming  24/7 until he dies, that he's just dreaming. If the body is dead for years and only the brain is living, then the world of the brain is the real one. The world that someone CAN LIVE IN matters for HIM alone
