this walkthrough, while detailed, is CRAP because your blast on the first 2 ships seems WWWAAAYYYY more damaging than when I do it. My ships are closer than yours sometimes when I blast, and I never get all 4 bombs and you just got so goddamn lucky to have the mines dislodge BOTH bombs on the 3rd ship. That NEVER EVER happens!!!

This time around, I messed up a bit and didn't actually get things to work out exactly right, but because this trophy is so damn hard, I didn't want to bother trying again and again to get the exact correct version.
@Denalin I got it!! lol after 223 attempts! so i take back what i said :P I'll say though that your strategy to get to 13 bombs was good, but i could never get the mines to destroy the 3rd ship completely so i had to use a bomb on the next two ships to get to 14, and then to 15. So thanks duuuude!! :)

The way you get the ships to spawn near each other is to observe where they spawn in relation to the ship. If you keep watching, they always spawn a certain distance from the ship. If you follow my guide spot-on, they should come close to each other. Stay alive a little longer and it should work. This video is of my second trophy attempt, I got it before this without the ships coming close together, but when I recorded, that's what happened.

It really really really sucks hardcore, all I can say is keep trying and follow my guide (or some random other guide) until you get it to work. Get plenty of sleep, too. Sleep is proven to improve skills by dreaming; things you thought were impossible one day can be simple tasks the next day!
look at that! the advice is to "get some sleep"! what trophy requires you to try so hard that you need to sleep? This trophy does! because its too damn hard! 1: is it possible to spawn 3 ships then blow all up with 1 single bomb thus get 5 straight away?
2:how come when 2 ships came in contact and i tried to blow up both but i never seems to get 4 bombs...always 3 or 2 bombs and green barrel....no matter how close i am to the ships
1: This is possible but very difficult, as the amount of stuff around you will be tough to avoid.
2: You need to be directly in front or behind the ships, if you are on the side of one ship and not close enough, the ship itself will take the majority of the hit, not the barrel itself.
The trophy isn't actually that hard, it's just that most people don't play bomber mode very much. I played bomber mode a lot before trophies were patched in and the Late Bomber trophy was the first one I got.
I can follow your guide from the point where you circle around the first wave of mines and then enter it again. But no matter what I do, the 2 ships don't spawn at locations enabling me to kill them off with 1 bomb!

Now after watching this vid I done it on my 8th go or something like that. Thanks. I took a risk at the end though. Ha! You should see what it takes to get those damn trophies in PixelJunk Eden, it takes 40 minutes to get some of them and most are BRONZE!! Just lame!!
They are given a certain amount of "points" for every game and every add-on. Those points can go towards trophies, for example, 5pts/gold, 3/silver, 1/bronze. So I guess they were just lazy with the trophy scheme. Yeah, it is kind of lame... but the splitscreen co-op is SO much better.
Very useful. Your guide helped a great deal, and I was able to get my trophy. I found that the most important thing was just learning to dodge and maneuver carefully. Once you're better at that, this guide becomes much more useful. So now I have all the Stardust HD Trophies :D. Thanks.
I was wondering how everyone seems to know how many tries it took them. I finally found the game statistics in the options menu. It only took me 180 tries! :)

-first 2 ships = luck, by having them at the same place and being able to destroy all the 4 bombs on both ships
-last 2 ships = damn good skill, which u will eventually acquire after so many tries at this trophy :D gl ppl

They are given a certain amount of "points" for every game and every add-on. Those points can go towards trophies, for example, 5pts/gold, 3/silver, 1/bronze. So I guess they were just lazy with the trophy scheme. Yeah, it is kind of lame... but the splitscreen co-op is SO much better.

Yes they are. Sometimes chain reactions cause them to appear larger than the initial blast.

Very useful. Your guide helped a great deal, and I was able to get my trophy. I found that the most important thing was just learning to dodge and maneuver carefully. Once you're better at that, this guide becomes much more useful. So now I have all the Stardust HD Trophies :D. Thanks.

I was wondering how everyone seems to know how many tries it took them. I finally found the game statistics in the options menu. It only took me 180 tries! :)
