Oh and about SV...I had that same problem happen to me this morning. It happened with 3 clips and I had to save the project, delete the clips and then close and re-open SV and add the clips to the vid again for it to work. Its really annoying -.- So you are not the only one

Ahh stupid SV sometimes right! Sometimes I can do the same thing you mentioned, but most of the time when I try to delete the clips, the programm already begins to stand still and than it shuts down -.- I had some luck this time, after a while the red clips were gone and I didn't want to open it on my notebook anymore wuhah, I was affraid they were coming back! So I finished it on the other computer xD But thanks again!
