one question iv always had, why does spiderman need web cartridges in the first place? i remember watching that in the cartoon as well...but in my opinion it doesnt make since...iv always thought spiderman could shoot organic webs..otherwise couldnt anyone call themselves spiderman?

Just watched the trilogy again. It's sad that there's isn't continuity with the characters for Spider-Man 4. I really enjoyed 1,2,3's cast, and think Mr Raimi did a really good job.
@mervynaugustine i know i love the original films, they were all great, on the exception of maybe spiderman 3 not so. really dont want this re-boot to happen. BUT if it doesnt go to plan or doesnt do well, maybe Raimi will return to the series one day?
@N1CKLBACK I certainly hope so. Even with the exception of 3, the cast was still good to see. Because there was development in each of the main characters. I guess if you compare them to the success of Harry Potter (partly because of the continuity), all they need is a good script, good villains, and good direction, and it will carry through success. Director Raimi will probably learn from the down sides to 3, and improve on 4. I hope They'll be back.

Spider-Man 3 did many things wrong. The point of this reboot is to steer the franchise away from Spider-Man 3. Mary Jane wont be in the film cuz the truth is that in the comics, GWEN STACEY is Peter's 1st love. Let Gwen have her real moment in the movies & save MJ for this new sequel. Besides Andrew Garfield is a great actor.
@BCT071 Remember Marvel is starting from the beg with a different plot from the last 3 & closer to the original comic. Many have already seen what Andrew Garfield (who played the co-founder of facebook in "social network") has looked like as Spiderman & many are already excited to watch the movie. Garfield has been working out & will continue to during the filming of the reboot in order to have that superhero-type body. No one should judge a movie before the release, especially 1 year before.

Sony canceled spiderman after Raimi quit because of his script rejection such as using The Vulture instead of villains such as Carnage. I thought Tobey was awesome, but we've gotta move on & see what Garfield & the rest of the cast can bring on. @5kinnyMc Keep in mind that this is based on a DIFFERENT storyline. Tobey played the Ultimate ver of Spiderman who was bitten by a super spider & used organic webs.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" is based on the "silver-age" Marvel comic which came before the "Ultimates" as Parker is bitten by a spider caught in a radioactive ray. As he finds out about his powers & looses his uncle, he creates a suit along with web-shooters & web-cartridges for the shooters. The villain will be Dr. Connors/The Lizard

He wasn't.He could do the shy and geeky Peter,but he never could do the witty and sarcastic Spidey. And that was what I love about the character:his wit.It defined him,he was known for his jokes.But when Tobey got in his suit,he was silent and the jokes he did make were Adam West type corny

Marvel is starting from scratch & the costume looks more loyal to the comics with web-shooters and such. Just because Andrew Garfield is now playing as Spiderman doesn't mean the reboot's gonna suck. Hell, when Edward Norton took Eric Banna's role for the Incredible Hulk the movie still turned out great, when Christian Bale took over Keaton's, Kilmer's, & Clooney's role for Batman & Heath for Joker that movie still kicked ass.

@zulnaim09 Obviously ur not a longtime fan knowing who the "real" Spiderman is because the new sequel is based on the "ORIGINAL" comic book series as Peter uses his scientific mind to create web-shooters & cartridges instead of organic webs spraying out of his arm & Gwen Stacey is Parker's 1st gf in comics & the movie. Garfield is a GREAT actor, a fan of spiderman since a child, & knows more of the original comic. Sony is finally doing something right & sticking to the comical plot for a change

@BCT071 Don't jump to conclusions. The next sequel is based on the "original" comic, unlike the last 3. Like the original comic, Spiderman will use mechanical web-shooters.
Spider-Man 3 did many things wrong. The point of this reboot is to steer the franchise away from Spider-Man 3. Mary Jane wont be in the film cuz the truth is that in the comics, GWEN STACEY is Peter's 1st love. Let Gwen have her real moment in the movies & save MJ for this new sequel. Besides Andrew Garfield is a great actor.

@BCT071 Remember Marvel is starting from the beg with a different plot from the last 3 & closer to the original comic. Many have already seen what Andrew Garfield (who played the co-founder of facebook in "social network") has looked like as Spiderman & many are already excited to watch the movie. Garfield has been working out & will continue to during the filming of the reboot in order to have that superhero-type body. No one should judge a movie before the release, especially 1 year before.

@BCT071 Well, just give Sony one more chance. Who knows? They may create a new sequel may be just as good or maybe better.
Sony canceled spiderman after Raimi quit because of his script rejection such as using The Vulture instead of villains such as Carnage. I thought Tobey was awesome, but we've gotta move on & see what Garfield & the rest of the cast can bring on. Of course you don't have to watch it if you don't want to, but I've already seen Tobey fans who are pretty much ready for it.
