The subliminal messages: Sex: 0:41 and 1:11 Drugs: 0:45 (No rock and roll? ... Two out of three ain't bad.) Turn on, tune in, drop out: 0:47, 0:52, 0:54 Mustangs: 1:17 Turn me on, dead man: 1:24 Subliminal messages: 1:32 I am the walrus: 2:25 Protests: 2:31 Tie-dye shirts: 2:38 Bell-bottoms: 2:40 I can't get 1:00, 1:08, 2:21, 2:27, 2:37 and 2:49 and I'm sure I missed a few besides, though. The 60s isn't my decade. XD Also love the way Joel says "Peace, love and pizza rolls." :)
Joel: (sarcastically) "Oh, the Woodstock, great, okay, 'No Joel, you can't go to Woodstock, you're nine years old, we're going to the opening of the New Century Store...'"
Crow: (begins tentative dance, then thinks better of it)
Catalina Caper is out on DVD in one of the volume sets. Little Richard was also in this episode and Crow accuses him of being hopped up on goof balls! ROTFL!
We had a playground near my home in the 80's that had equipment like that...and I did skin my knees several times, and burn myself on the super-hot slide.
I'm kinda suprised....I always thought of Joel as a "Hippie-Slacker-Stoner" kinda guy....but instead, he's rattling about the "Rat Pack", Mom & Pop & swanky stuff. Then again, he's kind of a dork, but a cute one.
I also love how the "Bots" insert all that "Hippie" stuff (subliminally)...."Drugs", "I am the Walrus", "Sex", "Bellbottoms", "Turn Me On Dead Man", "Drop-Out", etc.
Such a funny guy, that Joel.

@JohnnyDart76: Probably wasn't being serious from 2:50-2:55, especially. And that's what I like. =)

Genius. Thank you, Joel.

@Amethystasheryn: 2:49-2:55? It was probably just character acting. He was always real good at that. =)

It's Sentry store, and there really was a Sentry on Echo Lane in Green Bay. :)

Kevin Murphy still seems to be trying to imitate Josh Weinstein's voice for Servo at this early stage.

I think my parents used the exact same words to tell me I couldn't go to Woodstock either.

Check out 1:14. You can see Servo's control rod when Kevin Murphy lifts him up a bit too far! it happens a few times!
Joel is largely describing 'Mad Men'!

For some reason seeing Joel reliving all of his repressed childhood memories makes me happy.
Nice to see him get worked up about something, instead of the usual complacent Joel.

@OnYouthfulCynicism: Some of it was probably just part of the show, though, particularly 2:50-2:55.......or, at least, I hope. *nervous laugh*.
