you mention that this is in Toronto. Do you ever have problems related to the legal issues of sectional staffs? I live in a Canadian city as well and would be nervous to train in such a public place. I train my chucks in an alley late at night. Barely get a chance to use the 3-section staff. I was warned once by a cop because I was just carrying a training pair of chucks.
@tumorlips Sorry , this took a year to respond. I trained nearly everyday with this staff for years in Toronto. I would generally find a secluded part of the park or an isolated beach. I was asked once by an officer to take it home; he explained that it was not illegal for me to have the weapon, just not in public. I have not, however, allowed to bring any gravity propelled weapons into Canada from the States. I have had a few whip chains confiscated, but picked them up on the return home
This never ceases to amaze me. I don't think it matters but my 3 section staff chains are rings instead and I barely pull of any of those moves. I'm still a noobie with it though, but I can't see how it's taken around that the back like that. Very amazing!
This is a 3-section with rings. It does make a difference when doing transitions with speed (not loosing the fingers..) We train with a staff for years before 3-section so the behind-the-back is very easy then.

I think the same thing. A little more dispersive, but good performance...

@yangwushu I continue to study my transitions and technique. Hopefully I am better today, than I was back then!

Wow, you could have done that with a regular staff. You didn't really emphasize the whole weapons potencial

firmly controlled and felt, but could use some precision, and planned tempo change. I would like to see a defensive application segment. Keep it up.
