Spot on review! The performances really pulled me in but the story line didn't know where to go. I wanted the point of this movie to be a honest germ-apocolypse but the political bullcrap/conspiracy theory just through it way off.

Outbreak was so much better, in both storyline and actors' performances. I did enjoy that some of the "scientific" words were completely made up...immunize with "antiphions" and something being "immunonomic"? Yeah...those aren't real words in science (Immunology scientist here.)

A ton of potential. But way too many boring characters. Too many story lines that are too far spread out for me to care about. Resolutions to all story lines seem rushed and half assed. @Chrisfragger1 Not overdoing it on the hand sanitiser might help you out with diseases that are already going around, but the situation portrayed in Contagion involves a virus that humanity has had no prior exposure to, and therefore no defense against. So it wouldn't matter how much you played with other kids as a child, in a pandemic situation the only defense you have is good hygiene (or a vaccine.)

I was watching this movie on the Entertainment System that is installed on board of the plane I'm traveling and a guy beside me was coughing loudly and sick-like, I was horribly worried.
And also, despite it being the scariest part of the movie because it's absolutely possible, I like the Bat & Pig scene and background music. It's easily one of the best ending for a movie of it's kind.

@NGAGUNZ atulaly, a virus could make people violent and lose all rational thought that can be transmtted by a bite; kind of like the effect rabies has on a dog. and like the virus in contagion, the symptoms coul appear verry quickly. whether or not the zombie virus culd spread to thousands of people in a short piriod of tome is still up to debate. besides, long as you've got guns and plenty ofe ammo, surviveing yhe zombie appocolype sounds a little bit more fun.

@hillbilleninja you are contageous for about 2-4 days I believe or something like that, then you feel like you're catching the flu on the 4th day maybe. So you take it easy, then all of a sudden you might have a seizure, white foam comes out of your mouth and you die. The symptoms don't set in for a while, so it was free to spread as you did errands in the open world.
If the virus killed you in one day, I believed the virus would of killed itself before it got to big. Like in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the virus took like a week to kill you. Within that week, you are able to spread to alot more people. If the virus kills you in a day, you aren't going to spread it that quickly since you would die before you got a chance to spread it.

One problem I had with this movie....the font they used for the "Day __"...It looked like they just did it in like two seconds in Movie-Maker. Made me laugh/cry.
@SurikenJoe Tbh, I really liked the simplicity - and I didn't mind at all since it didn't detract from the movie itself and I'm actually glad they didn't spend more than 2 seconds deciding what font to do it in cause it shows that they were focused on the movie rather than the 'all important' font design.

The ending was pretty "Meh" tier, but then again, how else could it have ended? By the time of the end, it's not like there is much more story to tell at that point. It would have felt like it dragged on after that point.
Also, was I the only one who didn't like Matt Damon's preformance in this movie? He is such an emotionless pile of unrelatableness. He's so indifferent to his situation, only showing emotion at the very end. The only character I found myself liking was the sleazy blogger.

It's really sad to see that people need a huge, unrealistic, over intensive climax to enjoy a movie. The movie was compelling enough to never need one. Sure, I admit, the movie wasn't that great. It simply makes me cringe to see people even consider that poor excuse of an argument.

@NGAGUNZ atulaly, a virus could make people violent and lose all rational thought that can be transmtted by a bite; kind of like the effect rabies has on a dog. and like the virus in contagion, the symptoms coul appear verry quickly. whether or not the zombie virus culd spread to thousands of people in a short piriod of tome is still up to debate. besides, long as you've got guns and plenty ofe ammo, surviveing yhe zombie appocolype sounds a little bit more fun.

Lame! i.e. Larry Fish, Head of the Centre of Disease Control forewarns his live-in love, Claudia, to Touch Nothing, Touch No One, and beat it the hell out of the city! But she stops to shop for a shopping cart FULL of batteries & flashlights(?) & gets a call from her girlfriend who asks 'What's wrong, you seem tense', so she pauses, bites her lip and repeats, 'Don't tell anyone, but ... U KNOW GIRLS!, sets off a chain of riots, deaths, but gets the vaccine in the end because Larry loves her!

The end of this movie was very gay! And for the most part this movie was very boring to watch. They could have made it more suspencful, thrilling or somethin. U know make the situation more dramatic consperacy, idk. But the end WTF sucked!

@hillbilleninja you are contageous for about 2-4 days I believe or something like that, then you feel like you're catching the flu on the 4th day maybe. So you take it easy, then all of a sudden you might have a seizure, white foam comes out of your mouth and you die. The symptoms don't set in for a while, so it was free to spread as you did errands in the open world.

If the virus killed you in one day, I believed the virus would of killed itself before it got to big. Like in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the virus took like a week to kill you. Within that week, you are able to spread to alot more people. If the virus kills you in a day, you aren't going to spread it that quickly since you would die before you got a chance to spread it.
Idk, just my thoughts... JEREMY TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK SO I CAN GET ON WITH MY LIFE!!!!! (what? too creepy? )

One problem I had with this movie....the font they used for the "Day __"...It looked like they just did it in like two seconds in Movie-Maker. Made me laugh/cry.

@SurikenJoe Tbh, I really liked the simplicity - and I didn't mind at all since it didn't detract from the movie itself and I'm actually glad they didn't spend more than 2 seconds deciding what font to do it in cause it shows that they were focused on the movie rather than the 'all important' font design.

@TitWarlord Do what I did. Change into coveralls and full protective gear (splash guard, face mask and hair cover). Sit next to the door to make sure everyone sees you on the way out. They'll be creeped out the entire day.

My Point was There is No Reason to think this was going to be a Scary film. it was in response to a common comment i kept seeing saying "This wasnt scary at all" . Granted i shouldnt have said Dumb, but to wish I should Die is a scary and sick thing to say. My point was simply, Dont hate the film cause it wasnt scary, rather applauded it for its message.

The ending was pretty "Meh" tier, but then again, how else could it have ended? By the time of the end, it's not like there is much more story to tell at that point. It would have felt like it dragged on after that point.
Also, was I the only one who didn't like Matt Damon's preformance in this movie? He is such an emotionless pile of unrelatableness. He's so indifferent to his situation, only showing emotion at the very end. The only character I found myself liking was the sleazy blogger.
