Fascinating. It's a pity that YouTube is largely a morass of pointless, narcissistic ordure. Occasionally there a gems such as this. I don't know if you (both i.e gmacster & Mother) thought it was worth the effort, but I am very grateful that you created something quite hypnotic and kindly shared it.
IM NOT TRYING TO ADVERTISE BUT IM SCARED OF WHAT IT SEES in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck!!
@NancyToday You don't edit it out. It's a bunch of photos put one after the other in an animating program. Do something small, take a photo, do something else, take a photo. Rinse and repeat.
Hello, my mother was the woodcarver, she is amazing. All I did was sit on the computer taking picture after picture :). The carving itself is a very easy carving (she teaches classes and this is the beginning project that they all must do). The most challenging thing about doing this was carving the wood and then getting out of the shot to take the picture. (I carved a little bit of the really easy stuff and did the staining at the end).
I learned more a about carving from your video than all others that I have viewed. you have chosen the best method to demonstrate the skills you have and the ones that you were attempting to convey to your audience.
That was great, the lighting, framerates and transistions were spot-on! I'm twelve, I've been doing stopmotion since i was 10 and I'm currently enrolled in a video animation course. That was simply amazing! Keep up the good work.
In the last year during which I gather all possible info by books, purchased videos, online free info...this is the most aid I came accross. I want to learn woodcarving and this will be one of my stronger aids. T H A N K U!!!
I don't do any wood carving, but I have been carving Jack0lanterns and making videos with them. I saw your video in the related video list. Very beautiful! I love it!
Very good, I am getting started into carving. I am going to my local WoodCraft shop and taking a wood spirit carving class next month. I cannot wait to start carving. I have always been good with working with my hands, but I am not very artistic as far as drawing and such, so I hope I do well. I really enjoy working with wood and all the different tools and gouges.
That was fantastic!!! I can really appreciate the time and effort that went into this. I am learning how to carve and I know it can be time consuming but also alot of fun, 3233 cuts, wow!! My hats off to you. ost more if you can.

Amazing video! I'd be great if you would check out my stop motion videos and tell me what you think, though they're not nearly as cool as this.

Really an excellent video. I have to agree with what others said. It taught me more about carving than all the other videos on YouTube.
The music sounded a little sad for the subject of the video.
Thanks for taking the time to do this and make it available to everyone.
