@rambusinek, there is a free software on the Internet called freetrack, but u just have to have a webcam that can sense IR light and u have to make your own tracking...thingy. The thing that goes on the hat. There are tutorials on the Internet to make ur own. Good luck.

TrackIR is really cool.

It can be tough to adjust speed heading and altitude with the headgear on in virtual cockpit. That's why I use voice control software called "Multi Crew Experience". I can then just give voice commands to my virtual co-pilot, and he will flip switches and dials for me. Since there is a free demo available, all you need is a headset with microphone to try it out. :-))

@UTubeLightBulb That's the point you move your head a small amount but the game viewpoint moves alot, but it is very precise, you don't have to strain your eyes to see the screen either. Hope this helps.

I was sceptical too at first but with a little help from the forum I really use it with pleasure now. I mostly have too look a bit higher than the HUD than re-center (F12) Now I really have a clear view and also see the left and right MFD when I look straight forward. I use pause F9 regulary. FSX Aerosoft F-16, TrackIR 4 Pro

Get yourself a 3D Vision kit too, man that would be immersion!, I got the 3D kit, and it's VERY Immersive, I can only imagine how immersive it would be with the Head Tracker, which I plan on getting soon.

much like how you were skeptical of the TrackIR, your probably skeptical about 3D as well, and I have read countless comments from people saying it's cheesy, and they haven't even tried it, lol

believe me, it's NOT chessy, it's amazing, especially for flight sims, and racing sims :-)

Hmm, I'm an FSX admirer but had never actually tried it until yesterday at a friends house. He has a great computer but even when we maxed out everything, it looked nothing like this. It was the deluxe version too and I think with the service packs installed. It looked pretty horrible, like it was made in 2001

You said it is worth the buy but $149.95 is a HUGE purchase for a video game in my prospective, can you get a nice a smooth turn around the cockpit, or external views or is it kind of laggy in a way? Because when you were looking around it was very smooth but it was kind of jolting a little bit, a big enough bit that would make it look king of strange in a video. Awesome Review! @fsxman1 Fsxman1, if you can press SpaceBar and move around the mouse at the same time without lag, You can run Track IR completely fine. In other words, if you have good system specs, you can run it.

@fsxman1 Hey man the amount of lag is soley dependent on your systems performance.. Its going to look exactly like when you pan using the joystick.. It is def worth the price though if you can afford it at all..Ive noticed its not as nice to use in fsx as it was in fs9 but still very worth it.. just have to get use to the way it behaves in fsx..
