  • i like sonic unleashed better, 1 i think jason griffith plays sonics voice better then anyone did *in my opinion*, sonics new voice doesn't suit him at all theres no reason SEGA replaced the other actors. 2 sonic unleashed has more action and it's epic, i meane yeah the werehog stages probably got on everyones nerves but you gotta admit the day stages blew your minds. 3 the bosses on sonic unleashed were epic, and challenging not easy like on sonic colors

  • I choose colors because if you guys haven't noticed..no werehog???? and if you were smart they have the same speed rate but in colors you don't use it that much. Sometimes on Unleashed the frame rate fucks up so it gets chopped up a little and also In colors you get sick ass power ups. I like unleashed because the daytime levels are fast and exiting but the nighttime levels are just awful. In sonic colors you have daytime levels 24/7 so in my opinion Colors win by a mile. Unleashed has nice boss

  • sonic unleashed wins. the day stages at least. theyre fast. theyre fun. but colors? :/ its not as good. not as fast-paced. I personally didnt like it. not enough 3-D. I enjoy the classics, but theyre just...you know. classic. colors isnt suposed to mimic the classics. unleashed kept it quick in 2-D. colors made it a puzzle. Honestly, I think generations is where the 2-D will prevail. it looks fun. fast. classic. and again, fast.

  • @sonicmike1995 you're right only the first level in sonic colors was fast in 3d and 2d as if sega fused sonic with sonic the werehog levels

  • I go with sonic unleashed because the levels have good music and they are really fun!

Though I sometimes think it is a bit too fast but I still like unleashed!

  • @TheSonicboy69 huh bit too fast that's what they are called SPEED games

  • @sonicmike1995 Not a comparison bitch. Read description sometime kk

  • @DevilAkuma123 1) Please dont call me a bitch. That was uncalled for.

    2) I did. I'm just saying that personally, I like the Unleashed stages better. I wasnt comparing anything. Just stating my opinion. And Im sure you couldnt care any less for my opinion even if you tried, but I just felt like saying it, ok? Ok.

  • mybe the graphics (ninjaadude973) but we can not say they are bad they are both great games and we all know sonic Generations expected to be the best and good job and good video (Jacktheinfinite101)

  • sonic unleashed... boooooooooooooost

  • I don't know why but sonic unleashed gameplay is very addicting to watch.

  • No ofensence but I don't see any difference

  • Funny, how even though Sonic Colors is Wii exclusive, it's actually more similar to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Sonic Unleashed. Not bad or anything I love it, its just kinda ironic.

  • dude press b to speed up on sonic colors drill

  • i like both

  • Comment removed

  • Blame whatever idiot at E3 played it.

  • @TomokiGamer play it in person is much better! ^^

  • Sonic colors isn't quite as fast as Sonic Unleashed 360/PS3 but he's still amazingly fast. I aam a little bumed that Sonic colors isn't on a high definition console and that they dropped the sonic unleashed's level up feature, But it's still the best Sonic game of all time! I also wish that they'd use more characters like Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Blaze etc. I know they're focusing mainly on Sonic recently, but does that mean they should just remove the others entirely? I miss those other guys.

  • Sonic Colors is slower in this video because the footage is from an earlier build but in the final build, Colors and Unleashed have the same top speed.

  • i think wisp world woulda been a better comparison compared to the level u used on unleashed

  • sonic unleashed is better for the players who wants to go more faster with out stop, and sonic colors has a sonic adventure level style cos you can turn around and search more secrets

  • Though if you pick the right path in Colors then you can go fast (the top speed is the same in both games) without stop. the real difference is having Super Sonic (Colors) or having more challenging levels (Unleashed).

  • @spyrothehedgehog4 Yes, Super Sonic is in the Sonic Colors DS at the final boss level. There isn't a Super Sonic last stage in the Wii version but he is unlockable in the regular stages by collecting all the red rings and finishing all the Sonic Simulator stages.

  • I have a good difference!

When Sonic boosts in Sonic Colors, he doesn't scream.

But when Sonic from Unleashed boost, he screams: WHOO!!!" or " GOOO!!!", and other stuff.

  • Well Sonic has no lines in Colors during gameplay at all, just grunts and groans. I blame that on the announcer, he stole lines Sonic should have had. As for in SU, he has tons of lines programed in and you can hear Sonic make some kind of audible noise just by jumping. I think there should be some kind of balance between the two for future titles and NO MORE FUCKING ANNOUNCER!!!!

  • Way to have a pro playing one game, and a noob playing the other game? : /

  • Well this video was made before Colors came out. I had to use clips from E3 to get footage. I recorded the SU footage myself. If the game was out when I made this, I would have been playing during all of the footage.

  • @steaktastebetterpill i was just going to comment this, then i saw you commented it :P

  • Collect all 180 red rings and beat all Sonic Simulator levels and you can play as Super Sonic in regular levels in the Wii version.

  • i would say sonic unleashed is better graphic look way better

  • Well the graphics are obviuosly better because the Wii has much less graphics capabilities but I wouldn't say that's a good reason to pick the superior game. If you ask me the two games are almost equal but Colors wins out for having Super Sonic

  • @Supermariobrother40 wrong in my opinion, sonic colors looks much prettier than unleashed, dont get me wrong unleashed looks great but its just more colorful and its just better for colors

  • when i saw the trailer for the first time on sonic unleashed i thought it would be the same for the wii and i would be able to play as super sonic and was dead disappointed when i figured out he wasn't and i was playing a completely different game!

  • tip use the wii version of sonic unleashed since thats what its the sequel to

  • Um no. Colors may be on the Wii but it is a sequel to the 360/PS3 version of Sonic Unleashed. It uses the same engine, the same moveset and the whole game from start to finish continually uses elements from the stages from the 360/PS3 version of SU to build the levels. So yeah I'd say that this is a sequel to the 360/Ps3 version of the game and that it was put on the Wii to compensate for Wii owners getting the watered-down product of SU.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 its the sequal to the wii version cause it has the same physics its like a mixture because of the boost and the jump but its not near as fast as the 360 version and its the same as the wii version as in you get enough boost power your speed increases

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 its really the sequal to both versions im just saying since its for wii you should use the other version

  • Actually the game is as fast as the 360 version (though not in this video since this is the E3 build and they capped his speed in that build). But that aside I really can't use the Wii version because this video is to show how Sweet mountain uses stage elements from Mazuri frequently and Mazuri isn't on the Wii version.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 no i have the game and i compared it its faster then the wii version but slower then the 360 version im not trying to be a fanboy but it has elements from the 360 version but also elements from the wii version its a mix

  • I have the game to and it is as fast as the 360 version. I have had to work with both games endlessly because I decided to show all the similarities in my LP and take my word for it, they move at the exact same speed. In some cases SU moves a bit faster because there are more dash panels but in the programming of both games, they have thee same top speed and I am certain of that. It is true that there are traces of the Wii version but much less than the 360 version.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 lets use cake for example vanilla icing is the 360 version and the chocolate part is the wii version it may look like vanilla when your eating it but theres still chocolate in there

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 yeah thats what i was sayingthats why i say its the sequal to the wii version but in order to make it better they used stuff from the 360 version

  • When I say traces. I mean like .00001% of the game resembles the Wii version. I am currently doing an LP and as a joke I am playing a fake drinking game where you take a drink every-time there is a similarity between Colors and Unleashed. Out of over 100 similarities, there has only been one similarity to the Wii version so far.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 theres alot more then that maybe 40 percent out of 100 counting the speeding up as your boost increases the length of the levels and that its on the wii the homing attack resembles the wii version as well

  • No not even close to 40% not even close. The examples you listed don't even really qualify (maybe the one about the homing attack logo but that's it). the length? Unless you can say that the length of a Tropical Resort level is the exact same length of an Apotos level then no, length is not relevant. Not to mention if those even qualified, those examples make up about .00000000000002% of the game.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 actually there valid points that are exactly like the wii version

and while the levels on the 360 version are 4 minutes the ones on sonic colors are 1 or 2 minutes

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 the boost and the jump resemble the 360 version but the length and the homing attack resemble the wii version

  • But none of those would apply. I never had them take a drink for Sonic having the same moveset or stuff like that. Those are essential similarities, I meant things that didn't need to be there. For instance Sweet Mountain Act 2's giant burger is a reference to the giant tree in Mazuri. If you really want to get an idea of what I mean you should look at my LP and see what I have people take drinks to.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 everything the same or different in the game counts

  • It has to be intentional on the developer's part and it has to be unnecessar for the game to play the way it did. The fact that the stages are 1-2 minutes long is a coincidence, not to mention there were levels in the 360 version of that length too and there are levels in other Sonic games of that length so that doesn't apply. Sonic's moveset doesn't apply because if his move-set was different then the game would play different. If a level shares stage design with a SU level, that counts.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 i know it has more elements from the 360 version im just sayin it also has a lot of elements from the wii version

  • I really don't see that many. I mean there are like maybe three or four but when you compare it to the 100+ 360 references that can be found from zones Tropical Resort-Planet Wisp alone, that isn't a lot.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 i know thats why its a mixture

  • Going by that logic, both SU and Colors are mixture of tons of past Sonic titles that are also referenced 3 or 4 times.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 be considerate i mean really?

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 and the lock on resembles the wii version

  • for a wii game sonic colors is a pretty good sequel to unleashed

  • 1. Do I care If they use same models on different level parts O.o?

    2. Sonic Colours is slow but cool and It can cast super sonic (but ds version sucks balls hard because no super sonic there :< )

    3. Sonic Unleashed is FUCKING FAST to bad you can't transform super sonic in there

  • Actually Sonic has the same top speed n both games. The Colors footage here is from the E3 build. Sonic's speed in the final build is equal to that of SU.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 even when in su sonic speed level is max o.o?

  • Yes.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 so is sonic colours faster then su with not level 9 speed yes ?

    so they not same :)

  • The only to speed of SU that matters is the one at max level. Not to mention there is like a 5% difference in speed between level 1 and max anyway.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 whoa level 9 and just 5% speed O.o

  • @RavFLYFFblaSonic2pl actully if u think about it sonic unleashed has no fighting in it.. its just a run to the finish while at sonic colors u have to destroy robots and its more of a challenge so thats why there isnt that much speed in sonic in sonic colors

  • Take my word for it. They both have equal ammounts of robot destroying, platforming and speed in the game. The fighting and platforming go less noticed in SU because a lot of the extra acts to the Day stages are just extras and not required to complete.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 well im just saying in sonic colors u have to make more stops to kill the robots

  • You have to make more stops because there is much less boost energy to go around.

  • @LOLIamEpic yea but when you get cyan laser then its faster Tropical Resort is easy short and fast so there is not much challenge there

  • 2 words SONIC COLORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4 words. NOT A VS COMPARISON!

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 i know but i like soni colors more jeeese

  • If you ask me there is only a 1% difference in their quality.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 1%? wats that

  • The fact that Colors has Super Sonic in regular levels.

  • That was actually a pretty sweet video. nice job :)

  • oh, sorry i was to busy looking at the epicness Sonic unleashed was.

  • @edwardbaseball sonic colors is waaaaay better just because

    1. no werehog

    2. super sonic in regular stages

    3. tails sounds like a boy!!!!!!

  • How many of those reasons were valid: one of them. That one would be the second reason.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 dude not like the whole stage

  • @theamitlifeTV

    1. i actually liked the Werehog, it felt like 2 games in one.

    2. Ive been a fan of final super sonic bosses, supersonic just feels like sonic with unlimited boost.

3.screw the voice acting, screw cutscenes, just play the game

  • @edwardbaseball unleashed is cool but gey colors its AWSOME!!!!!

  • unleashed looks much more interesting, but sonic colours looks like alot of fun!

  • Owning both I can say they are pretty equal but Colors wins out for a single reason.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 no werehog? :)

  • Nope. The werehog has no bearing on my opinion of the games. But what makes Colors better is *SPOILER* Super Sonic is playable in regular levels*SPOILER*

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 omg!!!! no way!!! NOW I CANT WAIT TO GET THE GAME!!!!

  • thumbs up if unleashed day stages were better ( i know its not a comparison ) its just werehog had to come D: i liked werehog though.....

  • Have you even played Colors? This footage is ancient and does not even come close to representing it. I have played and beaten Colors and one level (not seen here) in that game is probably the best level in any Sonic game ever.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 oh i dint notice but im getting sonic colors for ds why? cause i dont wanna hook up my wii ( i have both but i want the ds version first it has blaze cream and tons more mater of fact i change my mind )

  • Wait does the DS version have Blaze? Hmm interesting well either way I've played the demo of the DS version and I would say that the Wii version is better. For one thing it plays like Sonic Unleashed (which was the best Sonic title until this one showed up) and it has *SOPILER* Super Sonic in regular levels......yeah you heard me right *SOPILER*

  • @AllStarKingD i swear to god yesterday i had a dream playing as blaze in sweet mountain for the ds :O :3 it was awesome! she dint have a homing attact but she did have a double jump im getting both :D are you?

  • I've had the Wii version since the 11th and I'm getting the DS version for Christmas. I'm pretty sure Blaze isn't in the DS version though sorry.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 blaze is a caemo (spoiler alert spoiler alert! ) go there and go to part 14:16 you should see blaze and silver talking to the yellow and red robots and go to 12:00 to see silver (ps: they also got new voices :o)

  • I know they have new voices. Ever character that isn't Eggman has a new voice but in truth to my amazement Blaze sounds about the same which is amazing because I figured nobody could sound as awesome as her.

  • @AllStarKingD WTtf theres no 14:16 or 12:00 in this video, you fool!

  • I didn't quite get it either but my guess was he was talking about an LP of the DS version he saw and not my video.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Oh right/

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Oh, Okay.

  • @AllStarKingD i don't see any thumbs up

  • Which is the way I like it because I don't want to promote Unleashed vs. Colors wars. Both games are pretty equal (though I prefer Colors for having Super Sonic in regular levels) to the point where I would say that they could be combined into one game.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Imagine if you could lock the day stages for HD Unleashed with Colours to create 14 zones like in S3&K.

  • @SilverPwns They can probably do that..

Put Sonic Colors on the PS3, or put PS3 version of Sonic Unleashed onto the Wii, have PS3, or the Wii, have an add on to combine those two games to do that. :D

  • @supermax110 I thought that wiuld work but then I remembered that Sonic Colors and Sonic Unleashed have different Ring loss ans boost systems. They would have to modify Sonic Unleashed to have Boost boxes instead of having rings to power boost and you would have to lose all rings when hit and be able to pick them back up. Also 3D watert stages would have to have a few extra boost capsules so you can make it any MAYBE edit Cool Edge and Dragon roads 2D water sections to go underwater.

  • Not really, they could keep them the same, by just having both games on one disc. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles had subtle differences.

  • @SilverPwns Nah, they can just keep them the same.

Or edit Sonic Colors to have the white wisps actually power you through the whole game, more white wisps you get the boost gets faster. And the rings can stay the same I guess :P

  • The only thing that I really think they would need to change is that they would have to make Super Sonic compatible with the SU day levels but that's it.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Maybe. But Sonic's already extremely fast in SU. If Super Sonic UPPED that speed... I dont think the game would be all too playable.

  • Actually, he has the same top speed in both SU and Colors and they pulled Super Sonic off in Colors so they should be able to in SU.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Wait, they do? Sonic leveled up completely in SU is the same speed in SC? Oh, then the leveling up is pointless. :P

  • Well Sonic's speed barley changes when you level him up (compare it to Sonic and the Secret Rings). I believe that the reason for it is because SU was the first time players got to go THAT fast so they probably wanted to start us off a little slower just to make it easier to get used to.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 that makes no sense when Unleashed came way before Colors.

But SS in Unleashed is pointless since sonic is already fast and the only thing they would be able to give him is inifinte boost and invincability.

  • Even though Sonic Colors finally has the Hegehog Engine like Sonic Unleashed PS3/360 version. I still feel the controls are much smoother and the gameplay is much faster in Unleashed (only day stages). Sonic Colors involves lots of platforming to slow the gameplay a little.

  • As someone who has played Colors (and obviously Unleashed) take my word for it when I say the top speed it the same in both games. There is a bit more platforming but Sonic is about both speed and platforming, not to mention that some stages are just all speed and some stages are just all platforming. the controls are about the same for me but the one thing that bugs me is that they don't put the controls on the loading screen so you'll get off to a rough start.

  • Sonic Colors is a WII game so u might of made a comparison of Sonic Unleashed WII

  • But Sonic Colors Wii plays like SU 360 and Ps3, and doesn't play like SU for the Wii.

  • LMFAO sonic is so slow in that demo of sonic colours i have the full version and i can tell you he is nearly as fast as in unleashed ps3/360

  • I've seen enough footage to make that observation also how did you get the game early, just curious.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 i have neogamma and i have a backup of the PAL version

  • Sonic Unleashed>Sonic Colors

  • Don't make that judgment on this footage, this footage of Colors is outdated. In the E3 build of both games, Sonic's top speed was considerably lower than the final build so yeah, he's a lot faster in the current buid.

  • in my opinion sonic unleashed is better

  • 1. This isn't a vs comparison

    2. The game isn't out yet so you shouldn't make that judgement, especially considering this footage is from like 3 builds ago.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 ho, sorry xD, your pints are valid, sorry xD, but i dont like the new voice actor on sonic colours, but, its a berry good game, bye

  • If there was a stage similar to Empire City in Sonic Colors, try to compare that stage with Empire City.

  • @KyubiStewie - We don't know yet, we haven't got the insight to all of the levels yet.

  • i think sonic colors and sonic unleashr both fun to play i hope sonic colors comes out for ps3

  • It won't, it's only for Wii.

  • @FrozenTear100

If the Wii version sells well enough, Sega said they may port it onto the 360 and PS3 :)

  • @Jakeiiiiblade It would be great if they did.

  • @Jakeiiiiblade - That means one of the boost buttons of Unleashed will turn into the Wisp power.

  • @FieraDevilWings Or shake!

  • @abc123Ypsn - I was referring to the Playstation 3/Xbox 360 controls if this game does in fact get ported to the PS3/360

  • THE REASON SONIC IS FASTER ON THE 360 IS THAT SONIC COLORS is based on plateforming sonic unleashed was 2 things, speed, fighting.

  • Sonic Unleashed did have platforming (hell there were levels with nothing but platforming) and Colors has speed. All Sonic games are speed/platformers.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 no actually i know no that the real reason, is because sonic colors is a beta therefore the real game will be faster then the 360 unleashed version cause one of those vids i think a trailer said "pure speed" as in sonic's ultimate speed limit!

  • The beta build was slower but I don't think Colors will be any faster than SU, I think it will have the same top speed limit since they literally went as fast as they could for SU, so I would say that SU is the standard for Sonic's speed now, which is a good thing.

  • Well, making stages that are over 2 min. with Sonic runnig 300mph is very long work, so maybe they're looking at the 3D parts of Unleshed. Spagonia was awesome.

  • I didn't say it was a bad thing that they are similar.

  • I hope this game has alot of stages, like SA2. O.o

  • Well Sa2 had a lot of stages, but if you total the # of Sonic and Shadow stages only, it is less than the total day levels of SU.

  • and the first level has a resemblence to apotos too esspecially with the rails its exactly alike...

  • The first level also had a resemblance to Adabat though.

  • It's mainly just the tree part that reminds me of Sweet mountain :)

  • Well if you look about half way through the vid, I show specific moments back to back where they are similar.

  • ._. if only all the places and storyline from sonic colors could be put on sonic unleashed......would be the best sonic game ever....

  • For me, SU is already the best Sonic game ever (Color doesn't count b/c it isn't out so it'd be stupid to make a final say on that one). But I do agree that if both the levels of Colors and Unleashed were combined, it'd be awesome.

  • One thing I noticed while watching this video is Colours has a slower pace than unleashed, which I like, for Unleashed was ALMOST too fast.

  • Well for one thing, the person playing isn't very skilled.

We disagree on the pacing, for me, there is no such thing as too fast (until you can't control it which was not a problem for me in Unleashed). Anyway just to let you know, it has been confirmed that the latest build of the game is faster than the E3 build.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Totally understand what you're saying, it's just just for some reason I'm relieved that Colours isn't as fast as Unleashed. Don't know why. Oh, also, have any more bosses been revealed yet? I've been checking TSSZ daily and there's no mention of a new boss fight at Gamescom.

  • The only time there has been a boss fight that I know of was at E3.

Well for whatever reason that you are relieved I am glad that you are but like I said, this isn't the top speed of the game, the final one might be faster than this just so you don't give your hopes up.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Yup. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED the highspeed action of the 360 version, and having played colours myself, it does play in almost the same way( lol, I think I'm going back on myself now XD) Just a fraction slower. Also looking forward to where the speed increase takes the game.

  • YOU'VE PLAYED COLORS!!!!!? You lucky SOB! *pulls out gun* Where did you play it and how fun was it?

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 lawl, luckily, I live in Devon, which is about two-three hours away from London, so I got to go to SoS. CRUSH 40 LIVE PERFORMANCE FTW! And yeah, its was SO fun playing Colours. I was gonna do a review for it, but whenever I recored the full review Audacity fails on me :(.

  • @ 1:54 they boost at the same time so if you're looking at the sonic colors screen it looks like he's saying "GO!"

  • Yeah, there have been a number of occasions where the two just happened to be synced perfectly for humorous purposes.

  • There are REALLY alot of similarities. Seems like SEGA was a bit lazy regarding the level design.

  • Not really, I think the idea was that since Mazuri levels weren't on the Wii version, they wanted to allow Wii owners to experience them.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 Sounds pretty logical.

  • seems like colors i more 2d and more obstacles.

  • Well they are compensating for no werehog but it seems that the ammount of platforming varies depending on the paths you take.

  • my guess was right and not because u told me on skype

  • @funnyjunk64 same with me i pulled that uess out of y hat of magic

  • i like it also hamburgers = huge trees (:

  • Indeed.

  • @Jacktheinfinite101 but i find sweet moutian better cause you can eat the stuctures unlike those dumb trees no offense mazuri your one of my favorite levels!

  • This was unexpected but very awesome.
