She asked,"Do you think the book would be different of there were girls on the island?" and we were all like, WTF? Of course it would! But think about it as you watch the movie. Actually he isn't stuck in a net. He's covered by a mosquito net. It also keeps out flies. They probably used it on him because he's bleeding and the flies would've come up to him and infected it and he also isn't an adult he's just like a teenager. Maybe 17-ish.
