Im confused on people saying anti virus. i work for dell and Malware calls are all day long. the last time ive seen a virus? Months and Months. we NEVER see virus;s, hell if you have a virus you wont know! its all malware. Norton does nothing ive seen except some tools for cleaning the PC. Mcafee Nothing really, Once in awhile stops a trojan. its all the free ones! Malwarebytes, superantispyware, combofix etc. FTW. avg is doing better now though.
i got the blue screen of death because of avast. had to have a computer tech run 6 scans over my system and ended up having to wipeout the hard drive and reinstall windows 7
norton 360 is shit i got the blue screen of death now so fuuuuuuck!!!!!!! and just so you know i'm currently on msey 2nd crappy pc so i'm gonna save up for a mac cus they don't have viruses
Threat fire is NOT a virus scanner. It is a behavior blocker. It detects behavior patterns of exe. files. It runs in conjunction with your anti virus scanner.
Most mistake it for a anti virus scanner because it can scan for rootkit viruses.
Drive Sentry is no longer being supported if I'm not mistaken. I personally use COMODO Internet Security and Threat Fire. It may be overkill, but I am virus / rootkit free.
I say Kaspersky anti virus is good, Spyware doctor with Av 6.0 but Spyware doctor isnt real time but for detection and removal its beast.Add malwarebytes to the group and ur good to go
funny how people used avast got infected they write alot of times on swedish forums about how to get rid of the virus :/ i never heard any topics about avira faild :) the 9 version rocks
trust me,there is NO best antivirus.there is plenty to choose from, just choose one that is good with your pc,and that you like. remember, there is no best.
"Will your antivirus software catch the latest malware that just came out today? In most cases, no, because it simply does not know how to detect it yet. But ThreatFire's ActiveDefense technology does, and has proven to provide up to 243% more protection when combined with traditional AntiVirus products. See the table below."
Threatfire is not an antivirus, it is heuristic software. If you have a GOOD antivirus, you won't need this. If you have a junky antivirus client, it will help a lot.
ok, if you want ULTRA-PROTECTION, you need to have too much memory in your ram and hard disk, then download AVG, Threatfire and bitdefender, and, if you have space for 1 more, try using norton, nod32 (eset) or Avast,
the best combination of antivirus can be: AVG, ThreatFire, bitdefender and Avast!
BIG DISAGREEMENT THERE. You should only have one protection because, not only will it slow your computer down, but they will conflict with each other. Threatfire is compatable with other antiviruses, but you should only have one Main antivirus. So if you choose to have threatfire and Avast(for example) you should leave Avg and Bitdefender out

Okay, i found the function of this program xD:
"Will your antivirus software catch the latest malware that just came out today? In most cases, no, because it simply does not know how to detect it yet. But ThreatFire's ActiveDefense technology does, and has proven to provide up to 243% more protection when combined with traditional AntiVirus products. See the table below."
So WCCobra is right, is an Heuristic Software.

There is no "Best" anti-virus. The only way to be sure you have no malware is to reformat your computer.
turb0strid3r 3 years ago
So you reformat your computer like every week? Being virus-free is all about being smart and not thrusting every pop-ups you see.

gtachris555 3 years ago 2
nah, i've tested them all, if i had to say the best one ive tried, i would say CA security suite
dimmufan192 3 years ago
Tested that, blocked 4/10 attacks
4 trojans
1 adaware
2 spyware
3 viruses.
Thas what I tested.
In the real-world test: FAIL
