THE RED AND BUE, BEATLES COMPILATION ALBUMS, STILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME, I HAVE THESE MEMORIES ALSO. BRILLIANTLY, TIME-LINED OF BEATLES RECORDINGS, DURING THAT MOMENT IN TIME, HOWEVER, AT A TIME, WHEN, THERE WAS A GREAT VOID, BETWEEN MUSICIAN' S AND FANS, WHERE SO CALLED MUSIC BIZ PEOPLE, MOSTLY RECORD COMPANIES, RIPPED- OFF, THE SERVICES OF THE MUSICIAN' S, WHILST CHARGING TOO MUCH MONEY, FOR THE RECORDS, BOUGHT BY THEIR LOYAL FANS.
FUCKING GREAT AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY, BY, OASIS, (IF NOT DONE SO ALREADY). GREAT HAMMOND INTRO , AND LOTS OF PSYCHEDELIC MINDSET, IN A MADNESS STATE OF MIND, ALSO LOVE, 'I'' D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING' (THE NEW SEEKERS, ORIGINAL FOR THE COKA COLA ADVERT) NOT THAT I WANT TO ENCOURAGE BIG BIZ BRANDING , DONE BY, 'NO WAY SIS', AN OASIS TRIBUTE BAND, ANYONE READING, CAN' T DENY, THE ULTIMATE, STONE ROSES, MASTERPEICE, ' I WANNA BE ADORED', ALSO, 'CHECK THE MEANING' BY, RITCHARD ASHCROFT.
Long before I knew and loved Yellow Submarine, I loved this song. My cousin had the red and blue double albums and that's where I heard it about 1974. From earlier comments, I guess it's about his frustration with John and Paul. Too bad. I always took the lyrics to be about the how silly the cult of celebrity is. Now there's a needed message for the 21st century. But what I really loved was the off-beat music and the sense of humor. That's why I love this song.
Okay let me test my trivia a little bit. Feel free to correct me:P Didn't George write this because he was fed up with the fact that he wasn't getting as much credit for their music as John and Paul?
this was made by harrison but the thing was harrison wrote it because even though it was his song, paul and john made more money off of it than harrison even though it was his song. thus the "it doesnt really matter what chords i play, what words i say, or what time it is..."
HOLY CRAP!!! THIS IS THE NORTHEN SONG!!!! I AM SUCH AN IDIOT!!!!!! I DIDNT EVEN THINK IT WAS IN THIS MOVIE BUT I KNOW THIS SONG!!!!! GOSH!!! I THINK I AM THE BIGGEST AND STUPIDEST FAN EVER!!! lol
This is the kind of experimentation the current music industry frowns on because they make money on boring, short attention span, safe music that takes no chances. Granted, not everything that's more daring musically works ,but, it can sure open your ears to more exciting possibilities. The Beatles were masters at that. I like the sense of humour in this songs as well. "You may think the band are not quite right. But they are. They just play it like that."
Sometimes, after I listen to it in the right mood, songs that I disliked I begin to like. This is not the case with this song. I probably shouldn't have said anything though.
i been reading a few abbey rd engineers books and it seems george didnt get much help around this stage of the beatles. Could explain why its a bit lacking in vocals. Im a beatle nut too but usually skip this one
its hard to say that its possible for Sgt. Pepper to be any better then it is but can u imagine adding Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, and Only a Northern song
I would leave Pepper as is and merge Magical Mystery Tour with the non George Martin originals "Only A Northern Song", "All Together Now", "Hey Bulldog" and "It's All Too Much" from Yellow Submarine.
In my humble opinion, MMT has never received the attention it deserves, and I sometime wonder if it directly attributable to animal costumes and the jovial imagery associated with it.
Magical Mystery Tour is my favourite by far, my favourite song "Blue Jay Way", so I am biased. But it is routinely listed after Sgt. Pepper, White Album, Abbey Road, Revolver, even sometimes Rubber Soul and Let It Be.
Am I wrong? I have gotten the impression it is treated as a silly aside. That is, until people are reminded of the track listing.
I am not talking about Beatles fans, but the culture generally and the mainstream music press. It is usually skipped over.
i agree, i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the movie didn't go over to well, i can't really say that i have a favorite beatles album personally because i like every song they have ever done
I love The Beatles. A little escape from the world where everyone, irregardless of what they believe or don't, can gather together and just enjoy LIFE.
This song is hella groovy!

Thi is a nice video you made, to splice in all those other "Yellow Submarine" scenes in so that you could play the entire song. Great work!

I guess I am not that musically sophisticated, but it doesn't sound to me like wrong chords or a bad beat.

Nice video, wrong song, pal.
"Only a Nothern Song" is a George's bitter complaint about Lennon-McCartney privileges.
This song deserves another kind of images and your video deserves another kind of song

By this time, George was writing better songs than John and Paul anyway.
