DT has the ability to make the songs evolve as they go. That's why you, me and everyone else never get tired of a 23 minute song. It isn't the same riff through the whole song, even though they sort of have a theme within the song. They are indeed amazing.

They actually wrote this during the time when they didn't have a vocalist, after they fired Dominici and before they found LaBrie. That's why so much of it is instrumental.

What alot of you don't understand is that if you follow Dream Theater throughout, each CD tells a story that ties in with the next, and that is why u hear similarities in songs, that is why you hear repetition.
