@Goirdy actually the Smart car is one of the toughest made cars out there, look up "Smart crash test" - there is one video where Fifth Gear team drive it into a concrete wall at high speed.......It's even stronger than a big mercedes.

Actually.. because the car has such a short wheel base and low center of gravity.. the Smart car is actually a very easy car to drift and control. Think of it like a Miata.. they're easy to drift/control because of their relative short wheel base.. same applies for Smart.

It's extremely hard, thats why its taking him so much HP in that thing to make it possible, considering the short wheel base gives way to much traction when turned sideways, thats why you see his car bouncing around. Think of it this way, imagine swinging your ass end around in that car when its only 2ft from the front wheels... It takes massive HP to overcome the traction a short wheelbase offers meaning it is extremely difficult to damn near impossible w/o 150HP

What I meant wasn't that it would be a bad drift car, Just with it's mass almost totally enclosed within it's wheelbase (Ie, No heavy bits hanging out in front or behind the wheels) The driver would have to have brilliant reflexes to keep the thing sliding. If not I feel it would just snap back in line or spin out before he could correct the slide angle. MX5's do make good drift cars, You can change the direction of drift quickly, But the important thing is, Not TOO quickly to catch.

you might have the power to drift but that suspension sucks for it. The whole mid engine car design might work for MR2 but for a smart car, it just centers the weight of the car a little too much so drifting isn't easy. Good effort tho.
