i like the guy for all his disreputable traits and talents, but mainly because of the Rescue Ranch.i don't know if Jewdaism has saints, but he gets my vote.
It's too bad that Big Jewford had gone to the Great Round-up in the Sky. The Kinkster is the funniest man, dead or alive ( I'm still trying to figure out which one he is,) that I have ever heard.
@spiritbearNY BIG Jewford was killed by a drunk driver, I think it was, LITTLE Jewford is still around. I just finished reading Kinky's book "Texas Hold-Em. " It's the best thing the Kinkster has ever done.
@theoriginalbadbob Omgosh, thanks for clarifying that! I love Little Jewford and would be upset if he passed away. :( I'm sorry to hear about Big Jewford, I didn't know him. I can't remember if I read "Texas Hold-Em'. My favorite of his is the one with Willie Nelson in it... ;)
wish i could have been in the audience...all right; i admit it now...i am smitten with kinky friedman....like his songs; too...what a rockin' sense of humor; he rocks; anyway!
Melollylolly I just want to say, 'who doesn't have a little crush on Kinky?' lol The combination of wit, brains and that curly head of hair is irresistable. Not to mention the really kind person behind it all. :) He's a great guy!
to znkp--and to alsnow469--and to kinky friedman himself--if he ever sees this--i would like to ask: "has anybody ever told kinky friedman that he looks like actor Richard Boone as Paladin on the tv western "Have Gun Will Travel?"
Kinky said in a DVD that many people were offended by the word "wetbacks" used in this song, while none seemed to care that, to quote Kinky, "wetbacks really got paid 20 cents an hour".
@znkp Not trying to pick a fight. I think Kinkiy is soooo funny, but the racial Eppatapph haver a meaning,m I'm sure you have listened to Kinky's " Ride Em Jewboy" Its about the Holocost
Great video. It should be noted, however, that the man on guitar is Washington DC Ratso and not the New York Ratso (Larry Sloman). This is probably a good thing.

@gwydiot That is great! He never brings his guitar to book signings in NYC. I wish he would. :) He's a one of a kind.

@theoriginalbadbob The Willie Nelson book is 'Road Kill' if you haven't read it. Hysterical, especially if you're a Willie fan.

Ah, so true znkp... Kinky is my guru. Well, if i had a guru, he would be mine. :) Thanks for the great comment.

Interestingly, the original song was by Chinga Chavin (from his album, Country
Porn), and was the parody of a Marle Haggard song.

@alsnow469: Yes, I'm aware of the fact that "Ride 'em Jewboy" is about the Holocaust. Kinky is Jewish too.
