  • He recommends against using any form of alcohol, and yet most LCD cleaning solutions on the market contain some amount of alcohol, namely isopropyl alcohol.

  • i want that squeegee would be so good for my laptop and the 42 inch upstairs i hate when you are using a microfiber and it slips and you get an accidental fingerprint/handprint while cleaning

  • I'm kinda scared to clean my screen. You see I have a 46" LCD HDTV and I just got it and my niece finally got her wish and got fingerprints on it. They're not so bad when the TV is on (duh!) but I still want to keep the screen clean. Nothing of mine that was bought new is dirty for too long. I can see if it was second-hand or something but it's not. I keep my stuff clean baby!

  • I just used water and it worked better then the solution I have.

  • A couple of days after I got my monitor my cat jumped on it and put a big scratch in it, so I got a paper towel, alcohol, and I haven't seen it since, which was like 2 years ago. I mean I have been looking for it, and can't find it for the life of me.

  • i know first hand about that "sorespot" he talks about

if you get one of those

it will spread throughout your monitor

    its not fun

but im fine now. nice new monitor and everyone is happy!

  • ohh damn i think i just ruined my new HD monitor i got a sorespot and like u say, its spread all over the screen... u have any recommendation to get rid of this??

  • microfiber teatowel and tapwater, but over here in Britain, our government wastes money on filtering water to a higher degree so fff

  • I open my laptops screen wide then pour salt on it and get the dog to lick it clean, works great!

  • can windex clean my lcd laptop screen?

  • i think its got alky-hall in it

  • yes that will work, make sure you spray the cloth not the screen to prevent running and don't use too much either

  • Yes, but I have tried before on my older laptop and it puts little marks on each edge of your screen I would TOTALLY not recommend this!

  • i take a shower with my laptop to clean it but now it wont turn on.

  • xDDDDDDDDD

  • @willman1661

Thats because you were suppose to keep it plugged in and take a bath with it.

  • @jxsilicon9 Stupid highest rated comments thing. I get a bunch of replies of something that I posted a YEAR ago. And I don't even get anymore subs from 38 thumbs up.

  • Less talking, more cleaning GOD

  • Across my 30 inch screen! in other words YOUR AWESOME (even if you are a virgin)

  • lol you area a funny geek

  • I use cocaine to clean mine

  • i use semen to clean it. the protein in the semen actually works as a solvent. just a little dab, that's all you'll need

  • I use that too

  • I think you mean enzymes not protene, LoL

  • another thing you definitely do not want to use to clean your LCD monitor: acetone.

  • lol wtf

  • I am guilty many times of everything he said not to do.

  • omg u scared me when open theis vedio

  • i hardly ever clean my screen, and when its comes to the time where i need to I just wipe the dust off with a tissue, and if i need to get something off a little bit of water with a tissue. I've never caused damage to my screen (that I know of).

  • I guess it's where he works and not where he's living ;) so why call him a nerd, if he has a job where he needs 2 big screens? :)

  • NERD!

  • that nerd made more money than you ever will

  • umm oh crap i use the alcohol-based thing wat do i do know?

  • I never knew not to use paper towel, and I have been using that as a way to clean my monitors off. XD Silly me.

  • i like to use my snot to clean my monitor

  • what about windex

  • windex contaians chemicals that permanently damage your computer screen

  • oops lol

  • xD!

  • Micro fiber cloth, with NOTHING but water. Be careful wetting the screen before all dust is removed or it is scratch city.

  • 30 phssss try 42.3 for me :P

  • well i just used some sort of spray and wipe

  • Actually you can get a small cup, use half Alcohol and half distilled water works great.

  • He's right, you know.

  • i use the cloth that you get with glasses,, it works well.

  • Me tooo !!

    its pretty good.

though it does take quite a long time.

  • You talk to much and say nothing :)..

  • i use napkins lol

  • im just gonna try and use one of my tshirts and some water

  • Me, wet grit sandpaper.

  • lol, lapping your monitor screen keeps the cpu cool, pro tip

  • Criminals use sandpaper or acid to take their fingerprints off that should work for fingerprints on a LCD Screen too.

  • xD lolz

  • hit me back.. drink the beer not the water. oh yeah well that was some good tip to clean your lcd but i think the best way to clean it is not to touch it

  • this guy looks as if he blows wads on HIS screen!

  • That's harder than you think, I've had my LCD for about three months and I've never touched it, but I turned off the screen and could hardly believe how dirty it was.

  • Same here! How does it get so dirty??

  • well homeslice i know u posiply feel the same way but the problem with our water is beacuase of technoligy but if geeks would figuer out a way to make computers from water or perhaps jus not use it we might have a planet for longer?

  • after seeing this i tried the microfibre cloth.. before i used special wipes for screens but it still left marks behind. microfibre ftw! thnx!

  • made me jump u fukin prick

  • I had my screen for about 7 months and I always used a regular was cloth and it ALWAYS left marks. Then I went to the dollar store and bought a cheap micro fiber cloth. It was the best thing I ever used, it even works dry so I don't need to use any chemicals. My screen looks brand new now no dust, fingerprints, or marks. Please people use microfiber cloths, their cheap only $1.

  • Nail varnish remover works best..... if you want to see the screen melt and dribble all over your desk. Great fun.

  • When you caughed you almost blew my speakers &?%$/%&**(

  • tht suxxx lol

  • Glasses cleaner & microfibre cloth

  • HOLY SHIT i used water and Cotton and My screen was Blue and Red and stuff Than when it Dried omg it was beautiful again.

  • I was about to Use Alcohol. lol I'm glad I Look it up Before!!

  • so thats why i went through so many screens, i used wisky

  • I use sulfuric acid and steel wool - never had any problems! ;)

  • really . i thought that would damage your screen . i might try that .. cheaper too

  • lol

  • Lmao!

  • LMAO

  • Just Use an old Cotton T-Shirt and (Distilled Water if you can) but if you havent got any then just use Tap Water, It always works a Treat. As for all the people that talk about alcohol why dont you put some alcohol on some thin plastic and watch it destroy the surface

  • haha i just tried using boiled water and one of my sisters brand new leg waxing cloths and it worked. However looking at it from an angle I can see some spots but its not as bad as before and looking directly at the screen it looks cleaner.

  • i use glass cleaner,

  • bless u buddy :D

  • just use a wet cleenex but remember to clean the water off with a dry cleenex in the other hand. Do this fast but VERY! gentle and there will be no finger prints or whatever you've placed on that screen xD

  • skeet not sneeze

  • iklear is the best

  • thanks Chris. I tried alcohol and a micro fiber cloth-ew, never again. The best was a micro fiber cloth dampened with bottled water. Also a tip for keyboards, dampened micro fiber cloth and a ever so slightly dampened toothbrush works great! E-ya Later. Thanks Chris!

  • im late but erm i use either monster screen cleaner or just usually a micro fiber cloth that comes with the samsung screens hehe cos I LOVE SAMSUNG THEY ARE THE BEST LCDS THEN SONY =D first i dust it though just to get any hard particles of the screen cos i might just rub it onto the screen and scratch it so yeah! swiffer duster then microfiber cloths that samsung provides!

  • Salt water?

    That is stupid.

  • you sound like a faggoot

  • THANK YOU

  • all that hi-tech gear and a busted ass cam

  • use a babywipe and a dry cloth and wipe left to right all the way down

  • what is this thing called water everyone seems to talk about

  • I found this vid in trying to confirm the 50/50 water/vinegar solution, that I recall being recommended, to clean my monitor. Where my tap water is provided by my own well, water that is very hard, I'll be using distilled water. Much of the bottled drinking water contain minereals, so they too can leave spots as the water dries

  • what about salt water?

  • when i got my LCD 19 inch screen it had a plastic cover on to protect it some parts were touching the screen itself after pulling it off it left finger like marks that i cant seem to remove :( and have i tried any ideas please anyone? (dickheads need not reply) thanks in advance

  • try water haha!!

  • Of course I see this after just cleaning my monitor with alcohol. However, my monitor shows no sign of damage.

  • I did the same thing :)

  • My guess, only a guess mind you is, that a one time use alcohol my not cause damage , but repeated uses of it over time could.

  • i need to start cleaing my moniter.

  • deionized water and cleaning cloth from my glasses

  • wow! the cotton and water worked perfectly! i freaked out at first because the pixels were all green red and blue, but i didn't dry it, haha.

  • iclean

  • Water leaves water spots!! ugh!

  • I dab my teeth in rubbing alcohol and scrape the stuff off, works fine for me

  • Thanks!

  • Water and kitchen towels works fine for me

  • me to

  • wow. supergeek

  • Yeah, I really think you're the one who needs to get a life since you use it on commenting on videos you waste your life on. But then again, where does that put me?

  • could magnets pull the dirt off.

    jk.

  • Someone should tell them that all those cleaners are water and Alchohol. They just say something vague so that people don't realize what they are buying. Really the water is the thing cleaning the screen, The Alchohol is just added to decrease the drying time. As long as you stick to around 70% isopopyl alcohol and make sure you mix it at no more then 50/50 with clean water(I use bottled water) then you will be fine.

  • If i sneeze over my screen and i get a nice chunk of goo stuck to it i just spit on it some more and rub it in with a steel wool pad untill the area looks great!
