i was quite the same age, but i must say i was just badly delighted that at least two tracks (Skin deep, no mercy) on aural sculpture saved the album. I took it all very serious back then. lousy albums from my favourite bands puzzled me deeply:-))
Creepy, crawly pipe organ sounds are what I like about this version of 'No Mercy.' Why it was 'rejected,' I can't say - I like it. Then again, just my opinion, as always. Great band from a great year - 1984!
THIS WAS THE NUMBER 1 TRACK THE DAY I WAS BORN LOL

Hugh here sounds strangely like Jim Kerr from the Simple Minds, another great 80s band.

When I first heard "Skin Deep" (at 16) by the Stranglers, I was blown away.

nice one, always wanted to hear this. And now with the lack of any tape player I thought I never would.
Another top stranglers video for you man.

Actually I do have a wee request. You seem like the kind man you might have it. (
I would do it myself if I had a usb turntable...I still might have to )
But if you have the b side of All Hung up by
Gaye Bykers on Acid. Its called "Afternoon tea with Dave Greenfield".( i think)
and it was rather entertaining from what I recall

That one slipped under my radar. If I find it I will let you know.
