  • THIS WAS THE NUMBER 1 TRACK THE DAY I WAS BORN LOL

  • record comps? bunchs of corporate wankers,,,long live digital piracy,,,if a bands any good ,they can make there money live ,,,init .

  • the short version is punchier, gets to the point quicker, but this works better for keeping the groove going, thanks for sharing this one!

  • fiNe___________

  • The record company rejected this version? Dickheads!!! CBS. Think this version is better than the put-out one-Thanks for putting this on.

  • Yes we can

  • one of the best songs of 1984

  • Thanks Steve, Ya hit the motherload this time- Pure Cla-Asssss! Thanks

  • Good song to run to ...................

  • Hugh here sounds strangely like Jim Kerr from the Simple Minds, another great 80s band.

  • Why the record company rejected this is a mystery to me.

  • @crownprinceofgroovy Probably `cos they`re a bunch of suited cunts???

  • fuckin brill bass...... awesome

  • Sounds like JJ's Triumph Bonnerville at the start giving it "Vroom Vroom"...

  • ma questo remix è spettacolare!!!

  • Steve Resin never heard this version!!

Still have the reg 12" Great song I remember the 1st time I heard this in a club called Coconuts thnx for post

  • great track ....did anyone ever get the game to work ...long time ago lol

  • @RahLas you talking about Aural Quest? Wish someone would post that

  • @randomglen yes

  • This is brilliant 120 carat gold :)

  • I think ive commented on this before, but holy shit, this is piece of gold!

  • Love the funny cute guitar-riffs by The Stranglers way to go!

  • I think this is better than cement mix

  • What was the source of this copy - the cassette? Or was it released or available as a promo some other way?

  • This song is just great as well as original and remix!

  • When I first heard "Skin Deep" (at 16) by the Stranglers, I was blown away.

  • i was quite the same age, but i must say i was just badly delighted that at least two tracks (Skin deep, no mercy) on aural sculpture saved the album. I took it all very serious back then. lousy albums from my favourite bands puzzled me deeply:-))

i find it much better today

  • nice one, always wanted to hear this. And now with the lack of any tape player I thought I never would.

Another top stranglers video for you man.

  • Actually I do have a wee request. You seem like the kind man you might have it. (

I would do it myself if I had a usb turntable...I still might have to )

But if you have the b side of All Hung up by

Gaye Bykers on Acid. Its called "Afternoon tea with Dave Greenfield".( i think)

and it was rather entertaining from what I recall

  • That one slipped under my radar. If I find it I will let you know.

  • Would be very interested to hear!

  • I really like this version.

  • Creepy, crawly pipe organ sounds are what I like about this version of 'No Mercy.' Why it was 'rejected,' I can't say - I like it. Then again, just my opinion, as always. Great band from a great year - 1984!

  • this is on the cassette of 12 inchs released by mistake still got it somewhere

  • I wonder where that ear is nowadays..

  • Top class my friend :-)

    gerdenshed...
