  • 185 my ass.

  • you have an okay form but that is nowhere near 185 yds, boy. Perhaps, closer to 185 feet.

  • lol dude is like 10 and says he hits it 185. maybe if you were 6'6'' you could swing that slow and get away with 185. you're 5'10'' you do the math

  • I see a very steep swing at the top witch might lead you to cast the club on the down swing causing a power fad furyk has the steep plane but redirects it in the down swing with that little hitch move but if your happy with your ball flight and it works for you thats all that matters

  • Im 16 and I hit my 6 iron 185. Its not that big of a deal. Tiger woods hits an 8 iron about that distance

  • Whats so unusual about hitting a 6 iron 185? His swing isnt bad. I hit a 6 iron about 210 with swinging all that hard. Its not that hard to do with a decent swing.

  • @sargesw that is 20 yards farther than your typical professional . you need to get paid doing that

  • good pause at the top of your back swing. With the swing you have though there is no way your going to hit a 6 iron 185. you ether blade a shot or its going to have to high of a launch angle to generate enough distance. i wold say your 6 iron is 170 at best

  • You have a nice, smooth swing and little, if any, excess movement. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Above all, don't pay any attention to the armchair golfers - they manage to find fault with all of the tour pros but I wonder how many could match them, day to day, week to week and month to month?

Oh, and you can hit a six iron much further than I can but I shan't be killing myself yet awhile.

  • improve your setup.

Is the first think you need to do. Other things will get fixed.

  • you are good.

  • It's like 5 in the morning. i hope you were warming up for a round. Otherwise you are an extremely dedicated golfer and maybe a little crazy.

btw that definitely was not 185

  • how old are those clubs they sound horrible to hit

  • pretty steep and probably some chunking on course. definitely see a heavy fade in your swing, work on getting you hands on plane in your back swing

  • holly moley!!! its a bad stalone movie. OVER THE TOP!!!! my swing used to be the same way until last summer i worked on dropping my hands from the top.

  • I agree.. 160 perhaps 165.. You want 185? Then you better be eating lotsa meat, eggs & veggies and get your butt into the gym 6x/week hitting the free weights to put on some muscle. Sheeez. Paris Hilton looks stronger than you!

  • That went no farther than 160. Not a bad swing, but not where near 185

  • holyyy nice slice

  • oh, and btw, dont bs me here. that swing was not 185 yards

  • over the top!!!! i used to do the same thing and it took forever to stop.

  • great tempo, however, i can tell your losing a ton of distance and accuracy, u probably slice a bit. you can fix this by bringing the club a bit more inside, and keeping your right arm a bit closer to your body. slide hips into downswing for more distance

  • That swing will work for you...yeah technically it could be better....spine angle and legs look a little off but...it looks functional.

  • just please get a better waggle!

  • inside out a bit. fade, slice when you mishit i bet.

  • lots of jaleous ! that's fine nice simple swing !

  • Good pace, good balance. I have a video on here of my 6 iron swing also, but it was taken without me knowing from the back.. I don't have your range of motion anymore, (blown out disc) but still hit mine about 175-180. Don't listen to the critics on here. Jealousy.

  • It is your wrists that generates the speed of the club. Where the ball goes however is your timing of the turning of the hands at the moment of impact (slice is too slow turn, hook is too fast), and how the club comes at the targetline (inside-out starts right, outside-in starts left).

  • Bunch of haters. That looks like a very fine swing. My "mnemonic" for power is pull and push. Brace your right shoulderblade with your upper back muscle during the early downswing to drive with your right leg. Then finish by pushing on the club with your right pectoral of a strong left leg. Ernie uses that move, and its depicted in one of the swing vision captures. Oh by the way, Sergio can carry a 4-iron 250 yards...

  • Uphill. And he's a professional.

  • 185 yards with six iron my arse have you seen the size of you never!

  • nice swing bud, how old are you and what are you shooting around

  • wanderinghobo, what course were you on...lol because breaking par on an easy course is not difficult if you know the swing and knowing the swing quickly is easy if you learn it in the right sequence...I commend you for breaking par from JUNIOR TEES, but who are you trying to impress?

  • you can turn your hips harder than that!!!:) Good swing though, looks like it fades a bit.

  • I broke 80 around 1 year playing...so i blelieve wanderinghobo...its possible. As for this video. Good swing but i think your plane coming down is too steep, try to come down the way your backwing came up. Good luck with you game...peace

  • Great swing!Keep it up bud!

  • Get Golf shoes, gives you extra balance, nice swing

  • best tip wud be 2 slow down between shots!

  • none of this distance crap matters. golf is more about accuracy and how you score. i don't care what anyone says if someone hits it 350+ yards down the fairway but bogey they suck. I've only been playing for about a year and I can only hit my drives like 245 yards but i already score in the low 70's. better than a lot of the kids on my school's golf team who have been playing since they were 5.

  • shooting in the 70's after a year gr8 but try and shoot under par after a year, i started at age 12 and i shot 2 under in a tournament right be4 i turned 13

  • i love golf i hit my driver 300 yards and i think thats impossible that you score in the low 70's after 1 year come on ive been playing for 7 years and its hard enough to break 80.

  • some people get it faster than others. golf is all about confidence and imagination, once you have that, it doesn;t matter how long you've been playing.

  • I agree, I really don't see the big deal about hitting 6 iron 185 or even 190yds. I play anything 185-190 w my 6 iron. Hit my 5 200yds. 7 iron 175 w/ no problem and can and have hit the 7 iron 190 yds (sticking it on the green) w no wind help. I mean that is not everyday, but it is very possible. People that don't believe is b/c they can't do it. We call them "player haters"

  • No Nothing Like That I'm Nowhere Near That Good. But Everytime I See A Swing Video Its Like " I Hit The Ball 350 Yards ETC " It wasnt aimed at u

  • I hate the way everyone just boasts about how far they hit it.

It doesnt really matter. As long as theyre consistent and accurate

  • What distance is that first marker? 100?

  • very much like fred couples

  • who cares how far he hits it? accuracy is the most important thing and from what i can see he's got plenty of that!

  • Yea but a lot of times at the golf course though, when you have a 185 shot, your ball lands shorter and hops and rolls a little to the flag. Look at the tour pros even, you think they can hit 6-irons 200-210 all the time? Watch closely next time you see Tiger Woods hit a 6-iron from 200+ it usually hits short and rolls a little.

  • i cant think of one pro that hits a 6 iron 200 yds....

  • Tiger Woods: 2000 Canadian Open, Final Round, 72nd Hole, Fairway Bunker, 6 iron - 213 yards over water to the back of the green.

  • Ya beacuse he swung outta he shoes, he used a 6 iron to get over the lip of the bunker, but u are right that was a cool shot.

  • haha if i need to i can hit my 7 200. Anybody who can hit it around 310-320 can hit a 210 6 iron. However, 185 is a very good number and it looks like you made good contact with it.

  • if u hit 7 iron 200 then u hit 9 iron at least 170 yards which means 340 yard drives i dont think so dont kid urself u mightve hit 7 iron 200 maybe straight down wind on a high altitude course

  • you're right, it's about 800 feet about sea level lol. and i've hit it that far from the fairway (so it wasn't a flyer) with mizuno mp-14's, which are about a half club to a full club weaker than today's depending on the manufacturer. Now, i didn't say that was my average 7. my average 7 is about 190 when my ball striking is good. 200 is a hell of a hard swing. and i hit one 355 the other day.

  • 355 feet...

  • Yes. That's exactly what I meant. Because if I hadn't meant that then what you said would be quite the original, clever insult.

  • haha ya probably true. one of the long drive champions on highway 18 only hit his 5 iron like 280 or something

  • i love golf distance crap like his, just love it. what do u delibaretly thin it lol

  • i don't see how it's particularly hard to believe that someone can hit a 7 iron almost 200 yards. You see it every week on tour. there have to be as many BAD players who can do that as tour players, as there are so few tour players out there. btw i know of a guy who could, when he was 17, reliably hit an 8 over 200. he won the world u-18 long drive championship, but still. And by the way i play blades so hitting it thin wouldn't increase my distance a whole lot.

  • wow so are you on tour and have you won the world u-18 long drive championship also, probably not so give up

  • I never said i was good, by the way. And i don't hit the ball anywhere near far enough to qualify for a long drive competition. I could probably make it to like... regionals, but i'd get f***ed up at that point. And are you saying that people who have not won a long drive championship and are not on tour should give up golf?

  • no i didnt say you should give, just stop lying mate

  • nice swing but i dont know about 185. check out my swing.

  • Impact sounds crisp. Fade ball flight?

  • backswing's a little short and fast, and that could lead to a pulled shot or a fade. nice swing overall though

  • nice swing man, check mine out

  • GREAT SWING! Everything is under control and the rhythm is awesome. Nice balance and posture. If you want to improve, take a look at your take away. You use a lot more hands in a very quick and wristy action. This takes your club slightly inside. The position on top is good but coming down the path is slightly out to in. work on using more arms in the takeaway and less hands, and having a more inside to inside swing path. This will help you hit the ball much more solid with consistency.Nice job

  • It's how far you fly the ball, who gives a shit if it rolls 20 yards. 165 is your MAX. Im not hatin' but don't kid yourself, TW hits it 190 with his 6 iron.

  • dood he easily could hit a 6 iron 185, ive hit mine over 200 many times. and tiger hits his 6 iron 190 at 80%. he could crank it and hit it 220.

  • yea but it doesnt look like this guys swing is going at 100%. good swing, but not 185. laser the distance.

  • Nice tempo

    I'm trying really hard to

    have a tempo like yours.

Could you check my swing out please?

  • 6 iron 185 ? me not think so.

  • why couldn't he hit a 6 iron 185? I hit mine about the same...

  • Well, I can only go by the yardage on the course and at all the driving ranges I've ever been to. So unless they're all wrong I hit the six iron about 185 yards!!

  • @SirLincoln They must be all wrong.

  • ur a fuking jippo
