@jvaguiluz Suhr custom standard. Sounds funny but standard is the name of the model,and its a custom(all suhrs are custom actually,only to what extent.)
I think Malmsteen is a great guitarist but im 15 and i can play some of his songs like arpeggios from hell and far beyond the sun and to be honest theyre not all that hard with practice and repetition. but Marcello, ive been working on old school and i can get to the solo and thats where he just blows my mind xD All hail
@RonnieJamesDio666 lol its different to me. i was learning marcellos old school first and it seemed easier than some of malmsteens shit. well i guess all shreds are easy because they make sense fingering-wise :D
Does anyone know what album this (and other clips) are from? As for "who's best", you really can't hold that conversation without mentioning, Malmsteen, Stump, Michael Romeo, Impellitteri, MAB, Kee Marcello, Vai, and Jeff Loomis (at the very least) :)
@Fluffypopcicle Like I said, there are LOADS. Seems like walk into any music store and you'll find a kid barely able to pick up a guitar who will scare the hell out of you!
Not where I live. Whenever I walk into a music store I hear one good person playing some good blues, somebody trying to lay the blues, but can't and is playing on a line 6 spider on insane mode, a generic metalcore riffer, and then several kids that just have no idea what the hell they are doing. Then there is me, who has the decency not to crank the amp I'm playing all the way and annoy the crap out of everybody in the store. I also normally just play Yngwie.
@Fluffypopcicle Well, I guess it depends where you live, but that was Les Paul's experience anyway. I guess Sweden and California are hot beds of "scary guitarists". hehe
I live in north California. Most of the guitarists here suck big time. That or they're just average. It's very rare to find a truly phenomenal guitarist around here. You probably live in south California.
@lukagorgadze Um... they can't hold water let alone be allowed to piss in the same bathroom as Rob! Jeff is nasty, but Rob is in his own league and his music is melodic and tasteful.
@lukagorgadze You're comparing the shredding king Marcello to the almighty John Petrucci? He's good but no one will ever touch Petrucci, except maybe PG in a few years x)
In a few years? Maybe a few years ago. I think Petrucci is somewhat more creative than Paul Gilbert, but I say Gilbert is definitely the better guitarist. Marcello comes in second and Petrucci runs an extremely close third. No doubt that they are all great, though.
I highly disagree. He's very sloppy, and there's not a whole lot of technicality to it, it's mostly pretty basic sweeps and other runs, I was able to play most of Trilogy Suite Op 5 and Beyond the Sun within a year and a half of playing. I have never been impressed by him.
@Moh1Z and more time playing the notes in the right tempo according to the beat, instead of trying to play as fast as you can no matter what the bpm is

3 things i love about this piece of music. The modulation at 2:54 was very clever, it gave the music a good boost. Also nearly all the music is harmonized lol. And finally the fusion esque line that begins at 3:28 and ends at 3:34 is just divine.
it should be noted that clapton is a seperate creature and is in fact the master of blues guitar , thats if you wish to give clapton lots of love , because he is deffinately a required study.
I think today we live in a buckethead world , and I'm deffinately happy in buckethead land.
If you choose the buckethead path , I recommend you not stray from the binge and grab formula.
Ooh look at me I am Robert Marcello I can use the harmonizer effect so my guitar sounds cool and I can sweep pick/two hand tap/alternate pick kind of fast so that means I am better than Yngwie who is an actually talented guitar player
Ooh, look at me, I'm Yngwie Malmsteen, I eat too many doughnuts and got glaze all over my strings giving me worse tone and sloppier playing than before.
Yngwie is just as overrated as his ego is big. It's not that he can't play fast or well, people just claim he's some god, which he's VERY far from. Marcello is much better.
i normally don't write comments because most youtube comments are simply too dumb for me, but this one of you is so incredibly unnecessary and bullshit that i can't hold me back..

I got a chance today to take a lesson from him for more than and hour and it was the most amazing experience in my life!! He is a really nice guy and he has a great sense of humor and I learned that there are no mistakes, just jazz notes.
Everybody say that Eric Clapton is the best guitarist in the world (I appreciate Clapton) but I'm don't think he is abble to play as well and as perfectly as Robert Marcello. So...
You're evidently lacking in a pretty big amount of knowledge if you believe that. Marcello may have a million times better chops, but did he inspire hundreds of millions of people worldwide? Did he pave the way for every guitarist that cam after him? Clapton can do something that one note that would take Marcello infinite notes to do, and that's pour his heart and soul into his music.
whatever you say, I don't like Clapton. There were many guitarist better than he. First of all, Jimi Hendrix, or Jimmy Page. No, shredding isn't my fav. style amongst guitar styles, moreover, I don't like it at all, but the way Marcello does, I think it's perfect. Metal music also far from me, but I must admit its geniality. I think there aren't soul and heart in metal music as you said for Clapton, except Rob. I think he pour also heart and soul, not just tech. to his music.
Yeah, but they came from the same time period. And Clapton was far more famous than both until Zeppelin. This argument is subjective... so I'm not going to argue opinions with you.
neither me, but if you come up with popularity and fame, I must say Madonna far more famous than Clapton, so this is pointless. Don't come with popularity n' fame because absolutely thats not significant. And don't tell me that Clapton was far more famous than Hendrix... you can't be this odd...
But not for being a great guitarist. And yes, when Clapton was in the Yardbirds, Cream, and the Bluesbreakers, he was more famous then Hendrix who's real fame didn't come until his final years.
disagree...again... because you are fan of these bands, that doesn't mean they are more famous. Yeah you will reflect like "and if you don't know them, that doesn't mean they aren't famous. Whatever you say, ask 10 people on the street about Clapton and Hendrix, and you will be surprised if you are sure about that nonesense earlier you told. These bands you mentioned are not as famous as you think except Yardbirds, but Hendrix alone far more famous guitarist than Clapton. ; )
Clever isn't the opposite of primitive lol :) And this all sprouted from you saying Clapton sucks. How is Rob Marcello, some nobody run of the mill shredder better than Eric Clapton, "slowhand," who's perceived by 99% of the world as being one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I doubt 1% has even heard of Marcello, and of that 1%, 80% think he's just some everyday Ynqwie, Vai, Satch copy.
@a1gold174 Dude, everything has a begining agreed, but just because you were the first to do something doens't make you the greatest....Your point is duely noted however.
@eltondoms it angers my dung when people say you need to play extremely slow and contort your face like a fat ho giving birth to have soul! this guys got more technique than BB King, but because the fat bastard contorts and sweats like a whore in church, people say hes better cos he got feeling! i bet he cant feel anything thru his fat pads on his fingers anyway! XD
You're absolutely right! A virtuoso does not need to play by the same faces that we're doing when we are in the john. It always made me laugh to see a guitarist playing with this ridiculous face of suffering as if it was more difficult to play guitar than to work in the bottom of the mine. That's why I like Brian Setzer and Robert Marcello: they communicate to the public the pleasure they have to play.
@eltondoms i respect your opinion. i mean rob is awesome!!! but a guitarist its goodness is taken by what he composes and not how fast he is because there are even faster players then rob. and eric composed beautiful things like classical gas
@Serpent1991 Of course, Eric is a GREAT guitarist and I admire and listen often. But I am a bit upset when I hear around me that Clapton is the greatest guitarist. No guitarist is the biggest, nor any musician, it depends on our preferences.
@eltondoms comparing rob marcello to eric clapton???? bahahahahaha... we are talking not only two completely different guitarists and personalities, but we are talking to completely different styles..
He WAS a good guitarist but actually in there are many awesome guitarists: rob marcello, rusry cooley, MIchael Romeo, Vai, Satriani, Govan... and ALL THOSE GUYS OVERE HERE (YOUTUBE) suach as Dan Mumm or... try just to search GUITAR IDOL...

But not for being a great guitarist. And yes, when Clapton was in the Yardbirds, Cream, and the Bluesbreakers, he was more famous then Hendrix who's real fame didn't come until his final years.
a1gold174 1 year ago
@a1gold174
disagree...again... because you are fan of these bands, that doesn't mean they are more famous. Yeah you will reflect like "and if you don't know them, that doesn't mean they aren't famous. Whatever you say, ask 10 people on the street about Clapton and Hendrix, and you will be surprised if you are sure about that nonesense earlier you told. These bands you mentioned are not as famous as you think except Yardbirds, but Hendrix alone far more famous guitarist than Clapton. ; )

Not in their time, smartass ;)

@a1gold174
I thought you aren't this primitive...
WertzuHun 1 year ago
Yes, calling someone a smartass is real primitive.
a1gold174 1 year ago
@a1gold174
ohh why? you think it's clever? :) my fault! :P
WertzuHun 1 year ago
Clever isn't the opposite of primitive lol :) And this all sprouted from you saying Clapton sucks. How is Rob Marcello, some nobody run of the mill shredder better than Eric Clapton, "slowhand," who's perceived by 99% of the world as being one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I doubt 1% has even heard of Marcello, and of that 1%, 80% think he's just some everyday Ynqwie, Vai, Satch copy.
a1gold174 1 year ago
@a1gold174 Let's see Clapton do this....oh wait... XD
SenseiSprinkles 1 year ago
@SenseiSprinkles Let's see Marcello inspire hundreds of millions of people and pave the way for every rock guitarist after him... oh wait... XD
a1gold174 1 year ago
@a1gold174 Dude, everything has a begining agreed, but just because you were the first to do something doens't make you the greatest....Your point is duely noted however.
SenseiSprinkles 1 year ago
@SenseiSprinkles but he still inspired a lot of people

@eltondoms and i don't think robert can play as well as buckethead. so go firure.
fallios 1 year ago
@eltondoms it angers my dung when people say you need to play extremely slow and contort your face like a fat ho giving birth to have soul! this guys got more technique than BB King, but because the fat bastard contorts and sweats like a whore in church, people say hes better cos he got feeling! i bet he cant feel anything thru his fat pads on his fingers anyway! XD

@sunnyjim98

@eltondoms thats offensive!!! my name is john!!!!!!! XD!!!!! there are exceptions though... steve vai looks constipated 99.9% of the time!
apparentl the 0.01% is when he actually IS constipated XD!!!
sunnyjim98 1 year ago
@eltondoms i respect your opinion. i mean rob is awesome!!! but a guitarist its goodness is taken by what he composes and not how fast he is because there are even faster players then rob. and eric composed beautiful things like classical gas
Serpent1991 1 year ago
@Serpent1991 Of course, Eric is a GREAT guitarist and I admire and listen often. But I am a bit upset when I hear around me that Clapton is the greatest guitarist. No guitarist is the biggest, nor any musician, it depends on our preferences.

@eltondoms finally someone who thinks like me thumbs up to you my friend

@Serpent1991 Glassical Gas is not a song by Eric Clapton (who I love by the way), it's a song by Mason Williams.
