This video makes a false statement by claiming the system is perfect. If it were true, choking deaths would not exist. In fact, choking on food or other foreign object is thought to cause about 3,000 deaths per year.
Perfect design would mean NO choking deaths. Ever. If it were perfect, Heimlich would never be known as the man who helped save lives of choking victims, but as an extremely overenthusiastic random hugger of strangers in restaurants.
There is no evidence that any or all choking daths are the result of the epiglottis evolving while someone eats. Indeed, any changes in the usual design of the epiglotis would happen when the fetus is growing inside the womb and that change would remain the same throughout that person's life. But the epiglottis, nor any other body part, does not spontaneously evolve over the course of one's lifetime.
Nor does evolutionary theory make such a claim. Evolution doesn't work like that.
There are several excellent videos on youtube that explain evolution in more detail than I could in simple text. I would suggest watching "The Theory of Evolution Made Easy" by potholer54.
But put very, very simply evolution is the process of change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. Any changes that take place happen when the individual is a fetus, and any changes will be very small. People do not evolve spontaneously after being born.
Several beneficial changes have been noted by scientists. There are an emerging number of women who can see into the ultraviolet spectrum, something most people cannot do. One genetic mutation present among around 10% european whites makes them extremely resistant if not completely immune to the AIDS virus.
For a more indepth look at such benficial mutations, please watch "8th Foundational Falsehood of Creationism" by AronRa.
A mutation is a change in the genetic structure, which is what all the changes I noted are. As for them being new developments, all genetic traits start with one individual. When that person has children, they will inherit the genetic traits of their parent. The fewer the people with this genetic change, the more recent an event it is. This is why certain genetic mutations (like the sickle cell) were confined to geographic locations before modern modes of travel existed.
but theres absolutely no way that its a random haphazard process because thats like throwing a box of cutlery in the air and them landing all set up for a meal, its ridiculous.
Most aren't favourable. Nor are they detrimental. Most mutations have no measurable effect, just very minute changes that are considered 'family traits'
Evolution does not rely on mutation alone. There is natural selection. To use your cutlery analogy, imagine throwing up the cutlery and one piece falls in the right place. Leave that piece, and toss up the rest again, and another piece lands correctly. Leave that, toss the rest. Natural selection leaves what provides a benefit from mutation.
It's been over a year since I've commented on this video, so your reply was something of a surprise. Especially since the video in question deals with the windpipe, not Jinn coming from fire.
I do not see how Jinn entered into the discussion, nor do I see how I've offended you so much you would wish harm upon me. Please refrain from making threats.
see, the thing is, 2 times in my life, that flap hasn't worked and food went into my lung. Everybody now and then drinks something and it goes does the wrong pipe. the body is beautiful, but it's not perfect. this video doesnt even come close to proving anything about allah. if it does, i guess i easily debunked it. anyone could. there is no allah. he is imaginary.
you cant prove the existance of a creator but you cant look at the world with intelligence and not see the forces holding the world together. the watercycle alone with complexity enough to make the idea of intelligent design undeniable. Its not about believing a religion either... there all the same. man made and such small changes in details. but just as we evolved past barbaric things like slavery... we can evolve to realizing something or someone designed natural selection too.
"He(Allah/God)is the One who sends down from the sky water,in exact measure,to revive dead lands therewith.Similarly, you will be resurrected."
-Quran 43-11-
Here, the verse clearly points to the measure in water cycle and uses the fact that dead lands are revived with water as an evidence that you will also be resurrected.
just the existence of "you" inside "yourself" brings enough evidence that you are different than your body,it brings metaphysics and that brings God ;)
I'm waiting for a single point which is not explained by natural selection.... I'm not seeing anything. If I were designing a creature it would be able to breath and swallow at the same time, like many of the creatures on the planet.
Again, it is not perfect and dolphins have a better design. Obviously Allah was a dolphin-lover, if not a dolphin himself, rather than a human-lover. And since octopuses have better eyes, dogs better ears, puffer fish have almost no junk DNA, etc., that seems to suggest there is a lack of perfection for the human body; not to mention, any of these fixes could have been done by the all-powerful deity in question.
sure they need a better one bcs they live underwater,it is like living your whole life while your mouth is full of water each second,so your system should be better or you will die quickly.
but what do u mean by junk dnas?
do you really think that they dont work?
remove them from your dnas then and see what happens :P
They have removed millions of letters of junk DNA from mice and found that they were no different from regular mice. Thus, that DNA serves no purpose.
And why couldn't the designer have made humans more like dolphins and remove the need for a choking hazard all together? Why not? There is no reason any engineer would not make it different between humans and dolphins.
Junk DNA refers to the mutations in the DNA code that are neither harmful nor helpful, but have no measurable effect on the species. As a result, they are not weeded out by natural selection and can accumulate freely.
Scientists have removed all the junk DNA from a mouse fetus and allowed it to mature. The result was a mouse that was exactly the same as a mouse that still retained it's junk DNA. Junk DNA is effectively extra baggage we carry that is not needed.
all of your body may have errors in your life, this is called disease and i see deep wisdom in that.but if you are talking about a system's perfectness, then you be the judge if yours works perfectly or not.choke deaths is an evidence what would happen if epiglottis "tried to evolve".
a small mistake sends you to death, although you are a conscious
think about what unconscious mutations would cause while "evolving" this system, each time.
Perfect? The epiglottis does not work perfectly. My middle school science teacher had it fail for him, causing a small peanut shell to enter into his lungs. A better design would be to have an orifice for food that is not connected to the breathing system at all. Dolphins have exactly that. Why not humans? The system in the body is great, but NOT perfect or even the best possible.

If errors don't count against ID, then what does? Also, the epiglottis evolved well before humans came to exist, so changing it for humans does not mean it could not have evolved in a previous incarnation. Also, birds don't have an epiglottis, so it cannot be said to be a requirement for existence.
lol @ random mutation + natural selection
Some people are so naive.

also it is a sign how close death is to us
we can die just after a few minutes while drinking water,if we try to breathe
i choose to see the wisdom in these kinds of "not as perfect as a 'robocop'" systems.

One cannot prove, either way, whether God exists or not. Simple
Natural selection, however, has been proven.
Also, one need not search for proof of the existence of God, that is, if you are a true believer.

So, the existence of God is reduced to the epiglottis. Since an (imperfect) epiglottis exists, God must exist? I don't get the correlation.
