I don't know much about Gran Turismo but I don't think you can really blame the game for beginners' mode being full of people who can't drive. That's where they're supposed to go.

@VelvetKevorkian Yes, but most of the people in the Beginner races have most of the more expensive cars already, something which takes a lot of time to earn the cash, and surely, in that time, the driver's skill would've increased. Plus, as pointed out in the review, heavy amounts of lag often cause cars to slide in front of you and making you crash, and then you get penalized, even if it wasn't your fault.

@jonathanbsherman I haven't had any issues yet, and nobody I know has had issues. I did hear something about network issues, and since GT5 connects to the internet even in single player, that could be the reason. Try taking your PS3 offline as a workaround and see if that helps.

I tried gt5p recently and the online has improved drastically. It's a lot better now, it seems they patched it to fix the lag. People drive more nicely now too, I suppose thats because the only people that are left playing are the hardcore sim racers :]

@kryptonek88 If you saw the full version of GT5, you'd be amazed. And the final release, the whole fast paced thing is improved. You get a much better sense of speed from what I've seen. Plus the graphics, are beautiful on the night racing. Plus weather, and damage is pretty decent too. Your choice though friend, I'm not like those other guys who say, "Buy a PS3 and get GT5 or I'll burn your house down!" XD

hey i Played this game online and the upnp error has been resolved. The penalty engine has been improved as only the players who bump into u get penalised and not u. But player matching now takes like 1-2 mins even though i have a good internet connection. I could not figure out ho you can modify the physical appearance of the car. One thing about the positioning before the race starts, the one who joins the match first, gets the first position and the others get the later ones.
