We call this curious habit (in Apsos) "digging for Tibet"!! Not all of them do it...our Gismow (may she rest in peace) NEVER dug...but "Beloved", our one-year-old Apso, digs quite a bit.
Usually...right after a bath or grooming!!
Unlike your Isabella (she's beautiful, BTW!!) - - Beloved is black and doesn't get so much of that "dirty face" look!!
