errrr, a lot of these "reasons" are pretty shit. wtf is that shit about bumper-stickers for christ sake? And that shit about their snipers doing 1 shot 1 kill, um thats like what ALL fucking snipers are trained to do. Everywhere on the planet. That's not a reason. Being nicknamed a "jarhead" is NOT a reason to like the corp. The only people that would like this video is marines...
Thanks for this, I love it! I have a stepson at MCRD SD right now, graduating in December. I'm very proud of him and can't wait to see him as a Marine.
hey i just EASd 10 days ago. This video still motivates great job in recognizing those who laid down their lives. It is these men that gave the Corps her reputation.
Not to be nitpicky or anything but the dummy wearing the blues at 0:45 is an imposter. He's wearing the daggone SNCO belt buckle but only has 3 chevrons...thus should only be wearing the NCO belt buckle.
You are correct! If you can see, the jackwagon also had one collar emblem incorrect which I had to cover up with an annotation. Who dressed this guy? I should have seen both of those right away. Unfortunately I can't change the pic without replacing the entire video.
@implaxis the pic at 45 was taken from a ribbon replacement site. like ya know if you loose one or damage it, along with those medals as well. grunt.com has e'm

I love you guys like my brother. thankyou again. I wish i didn't have asthma so i could join you..
why do the marines have only one over seas base and thats in japan when the army has bases everywhere is it cause the marine is not somone you want in your country unless theres a war etc please answer ASAP...
With all due respect as a former Marine I thoroughly enjoyed this video except for the fact that John Glen was not the first "human" to orbit space, he was the first American to do so. The distinction of first human in space goes to the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. In fact John Glen was the third American in space the previous two did not orbit the earth.
So when I first enlisted and was in the DEP (Delayed entry program) I asked my recruiter, so have you ever had to retreat from the enemy when you were in Afganistan? He replied "What the hell is retreat?"
@FilipinoD4Life haha funny story i asked the same thing to my recruiter... " Have you ever had to retreat?" he said: "retreat? were not the french were the damn marines!!"
My son is due to graduate from boot camp at the end of the month and I have a big party planned for him. Would it be possible to get a copy of this presentation to show at his party. This explains so much about the Corp. I would be willing to pay a fee. Thank you in advance. Joe Brocato. jsphbrct246@gmail.com
Not a Marine, but love the Marines. I was looking for the following 3 in your reasons but didn't find them: Toys for tots (the Marine as Santa), Gibbs from NCIS (the coolest TV character?), and a bride being spanked by the Marine sword at the end of the arch (this one might fall under the Marine spouse). Still love the reasons though.
@nollid0331 not to be a dick but they all fight for the same country and have the morals, the Marines are just more elite and harder to join than the other branches, (not including the Navy's, Navy Seals they are the U.S most Elite Special Forces and the worlds best trained soldiers).
@deltaenforcer93 I'm going to point out that you are talking about the Marines and the S.E.A.L. teams. Marine is earned after boot camp, S.E.A.L. trainning is and advanced series of trinning. SO the Navy already had the sea air and land stuff in the Corps itself. The Marines are the best basically trined force on the planet. If you would like to compare the S.E.A.L. teams to something like Force Recon...but then you cant, there is none. Sempir Fi.
@AjunkoMilitak Russian VDV & Spetsnaz are better trained than both FR Marines & reg Marines. The US Army trains FR Marines,so whatever Army is,Marines are too. And lastly the Marines aren't big enough to handle all those tasks, nor have they ever carried their own combat ops before, they just follow the Army. The "First to fight" slogan isn't even accurate, this ain't WWII anymore. I have respect for them, but this video just shows what "looks" cool about a Marine.
@AjunkoMilitak I get my info on Military from war Vets, and me myself is a cadet who deeply hates bias & bullshit/PR,so I'm more educated than your average civilian.
@AjunkoMilitak What I suggest you do is look up possible war Vets claims, cause thousands of people out there pretend to be war Veterans, and haven't served even one day,not ONE day & make up shit.
The Corps is older than the United States itself. The U.S. Army is 5 months older than the Corps. Before the Corps came into being, the Army fought the battles of Lexington, Concord, established the siege of Boston, fought the Battle of Bunker Hill, captured Ticonderoga, and invaded Canada.
As the grown daughter of a Marine, I was raised to respect the flag and our military, love my country, and appreciate my freedom. All the while, knowing who made it possible - US Marines, with assistance from Army, Navy, and Air Force. Haha, good hearted joking my dad always made.
Another celebrity-Jonathon Winters (also portrayed a retired gunny in his last tv show), on Hollywood Squares he was asked about the Navy having to shoot down their own missile. He responded that he had been in the Marines and the Marines would have just reached up and pulled the missile down with their bare hands.

@deltakilokilo thank u very much I have been dooing alot of incline push ups every time i work out, I feel I am as mentaly prepared as I can be but then again i hear pep say that and are very wrong when they get there. i do alot of situps to but not as much as as the other stuff r they a importiant aspect of training as well? u didnt seem to inthosed about buddy drag and fire arm carries is there any thing I can do to prepare for that exept dragging a friend around :)

Thank you for clarifying.... Rifles are not g-u-n-s they are rifles. Guns are tools used to mass produce future Marines. Not shooting other men. This isn't the army.
My all time favorite quote is from a marine recon sniper. A reporter asked him what he felt the moment he killed a high ranking taliban insurgent. His answer......Recoil.
@ReconMarine012 -- I created the soundtrack myself but you should be able to use your Sound Recorder on your computer to record it. The background music is, of course, Semper Fidelis.
OK LOVED your video, it made me cry cause you left nothing out that I could tell except maybe one I would have mention. THE "CHINA MARINES" - 1/4 OOHRAH!!!!!!!!!!
With the pictures of Marine Heroes should be a picture of Col. John W. Ripley (deceased). Although his incredible 32 years of service to the Corps is most often linked to his destruction of The Bridge at Dong Ha (Book by the same name and most recently his Vietnam story and the story of other great Marines told in the book Ride The Thunder),and his induction into the Army Ranger Hall of Fame as a Marine should tell you something about the respect he holds with all Military Branches. RIP Col.
Ok, whoever did NOT like this video has some SERIOUS issues! I didn't make it through bootcamp but I love the Marine more now than I did before going in! I've missed bootcamp eberyday since I've been gone!

Raised by Navy man, sister to Army man, standing by a man who surpasses them all, one who is, soon to leave, for boot camp for Marines. Hoping for 61, followed by 55 and 56. I wish all of those luck that wish to join the Marines, I thank all of you that are serving or have served and will keep all of you in my prayers.

RIP Col.
