  • I want to be Haruko's slave D:

  • Liked the manga's ending better than the anime's, but overall the anime gave a much stronger... feel

  • @1x93cm Oh Lordy! I was 20 the first time I saw this on old skool AS (eleven years) Thank you so much for GX and their insanely talented group.

  • this is honestly the most random anime ive never seen...

  • SWING THE BAT TAKKUN!

  • you can learn japanese by listening to music asiabymusic, com xD

  • Best Anime ever! Might be slightly short but that's what makes it great XD

  • this anime hasnt losed its edge yet, concepts and designs looks great after a decade, it was really beyond its era

  • @MrSeriouslynotfunny same here

  • Watashi wa, kono bangumi o minogasu koto wa nagai jikan de sore o miteinai

  • That beginning riff is NUTZ.

  • they should make a season with takkun now that he's older it would be perfect!!

  • i really fuckin love this anime <3

  • @lazerBAR ye-ye-yeah?

  • they need to finish this show >:O

  • @RokuAndSevenKyoki they did.

  • This show... shows... that quality is much more important than quantity.

  • FLCL, I'm told, doesnt make a lot of sense translated to English. So much is lost in translation that only somebody solidly fluent in Japanese could understand it in its purest form. Kinda sucks.

But the thing is...the animation, music, and imagery of the show says so much to me that I still get something out of it as I watch it. It's a really great piece of work.

  • Fooly Cooly... One of the greatest animes ever.

  • this song is a drug!

  • THEY'RE SMOOTHING OUT THE WRINKLES SO YOU CAN'T THINK!!! IT'S OVER!!! IT'S ALL OVER!!! D:

  • ググルで翻訳してる? その日本語は変。

  • ahhhh no matter how old the show gets its sill my favorite i <3 Takkun hahhah

  • Still kinda mesmorized and confused by that series, ... Pillows made the perfect soundtrack though :D

  • @Kastlefeer watch it a fiew more times or read the manga.

  • @TonyBMan "..what about..eyebrows"

  • It's so beautiful

  • you gotta swing the bat

  • @ONGAKUhahito What?

  • wow only six people dont like this vid....why i say its an amazing song with a perfect pic to match it whats not to like

  • @constructivist6 that creepy yet epic song would be instant music my friend

  • Hey Pillows fans: I'm looking for the official video (not sure what the name of the song is) but I remember that its animated, depicts an awkward date and the main character rocks out with his cock out. If you know what I'm talking about reply. Thanks much!

  • @constructivist6 Instant Music?

  • Don't despair, There's plenty of good, NEW anime out there, you just have to know what you're looking for.

  • Sadly theres just 6

  • is the show only 6 episodes long or are they making new?

    i love this show :p

  • "That kid will never pull it off!!"

  • @Leon119 .....eyebrows!!11.......

  • Of all the anime I would want to live in real life this is on the top of my list. If not only for the soundtrack that would play with it, but also ....EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!

  • i can't believe this came out ELEVEN YEARS AGO

    omg i'm old...and Takkun is 22...

  • @1x93cm really 11 years ago?! daang, they had some awesome imagination back then huh? XD

  • @1x93cm i kno wat u mean....there was a golden age of anime back then, and im only now old enuff to really appreciate it

  • @1x93cm Wouldn't he be 23 if he's 12 in the anime and it's 11 years later?

  • @RinsEmoLullaby he was 12?

  • @1x93cm Yeah, it said so on it's Wiki : FLCL follows Naota Nandaba, a twelve-year-old boy living in the fictional Japanese suburb of Mabase

  • @1x93cm 11 years? you mean that whole time he was older than me? swore we were the same age

  • @1x93cm It's already been 11 years?

  • @SirTannen yep, series came out in 1999

  • @1x93cm that'd be 23.

  • @1x93cm 11 YEARS AGO!? HOLY BALLS!!! Japan really outdid themselves with this anime.

  • @1x93cm I think it's high time Haruko came back to pick up Naota. I mean, when she left, didn't she say he was too young. He's 22 fucking years now! Haruko, where the fuck are you?

  • @1x93cm I was only 8 when I when I saw this T__T

  • What a crazy anime, seems interesting, though

  • My head kind of swells every time they say, "CCRAAAZZYYYYY SUUUNNNSHIIIIINNNE".

  • this anime was made to test out new possibilities of animation ;) thats why there were so few episodes and they're so random, as is the manga. people ended up loving it very much though. the plot is metaphor for puberty though

  • i guess when the chips are do some people are just to scared to swig the bat

  • he swung the bat.....

  • dewybmt they probly do explain it but we will never no because there are two episodes that where taken out

  • 5 people are haters

  • come to think of it. was it ever explained why canti went badass the first time when naota called for his older brother? or who his brother even was and what everyones connection with him was? its confusing and mysterious but at the same time, it's the kind of mystery that just feels like it's meant to be a mystery. thinking about it just gives you an odd feeling. like you wonder about it but know it's probably meant to remain secret. not just for plot but for the sake of the shows awesomeness.

  • Inthink I first heard this as an itro to a MoogleFTW video. Great song, awesome show.

  • The plot is easy. The whole thing is a metaphor for puberty.

  • @nbc3886 THANK YOU! I've been looking for someone to agree with me and my bro about this!

  • Whenever they say "Craaaazy suuunshine!" it gives me the chills :3

  • @MrSeriouslynotfunny holy shit!! MEE TOOOOO!!!!

  • @MrSeriouslynotfunny

    That's cause your body know something that your mind hasn't figured out yet;

Something awesome is about to happen...

  • Man i wish i could go back in time when FLCL rulled the world and nothing ell's mattered :/

  • She's a very safe driver.

  • I Watched FLCL ( FURI CURIIII ), when I was like 14, and i watched it again now, i'm 20 and I can't understand a damn thing, and despite of that, I will watch it when I will be 40 and i'll love it :p This is the most absurd Manga i've ever watched. ( and I know Boboboboboobobo)

  • *nosebleeds*

  • i love the pillows

  • I think this anime is so good because of the fact that it shows that something different can be really good and cool. If your anything like me your always trying to become different. Not be like the big crowds of kids in school. Being an individual instead of someone in the herd of sheep that we call popularity.

  • I love to draw FLCL characters. And sometimes that bridge and that bing iron heating thingy mabob lool. IT's really funn.

  • FLCL is amazing. The first 30 times I watched it I was blazed and had no clue what was going on at all. It just seemed random and hilarious. But then watching it beyond the humor, and zaniness. It sends so many messages to you. About love, and jealousy. How actions you make without even thinking can effect the people that care about you. GREAT anime for multiple reasons. Not the mention the kick ass style and soundtrack!

  • gawd i love the pillows...

  • Everything is ordinary..

  • The scene with this song in the show, man...I've seen it a hundred times and I'll see it a hundred more, and every time the sky catches fire to that flawless music cue, I can feel it in my spine. "oooOOOOO!" indeed.

  • whats that song called everytime Takkun or Naoto fights a creature at climax? it sounds FOOLY COOLIO!

  • @Grampa987

Pretty sure you mean Little Busters. One of my favorites off of the soundtrack.

  • I had a FLCL marathon while stoned out of my mind last week. It didn't do much difference from watching it sober. ;/

    Still an awesome series.

  • It's like a Japanese version of the Beatles.

  • @bloodalchemist01 A bold statement, but i'll take it.

  • @bloodalchemist01 id compare them more to the stone roses myself, compare this song to she bangs the drums, very similar sound

  • I love how this anime deals witj real life problems but doesnt show it :3

  • there needs to be a site about getting the ppl to make more episodes :3

  • @dremordrick

i would soo invest in to that! hahha

  • I'm gonna start watching FLCL again, music brings back memories..

  • The pillows' music always have such a nostalgic tone i just love it ^^

  • Pause at 2:20 Lol

  • I love how FLCL and The Pillows are like made for each other. Both are crazy, funny, weird, beautiful and touching at the same time.

  • what an amazing song. this is sure to put anybody in high spirits!

it's so wild it's so fun it's so nostalgic

just imagine yourself listening to this on a summer day, running through an endless meadow...

  • I always loved this anime best after I grew up lolol...my speakers were so loud just now I have temporary and reversible hearing damage hahaha I love it!

Live your life people! No time for no haters!

  • FLCL (Great anime) + The Pillows (Great J-Rock-Pop Band) = OMFG!!! Super OSB!!!

    Good job friend ;)

  • The Japanese the pillows, we get My Chemical Romance.

The Japanese get Fullmetal Alchemist, we get MTV

The Japanese get Claymore, we get Twilight

The Japanese get The World Ends With You, JSRF, and god knows how many great games, we get Madden 2549, and CoD:4, Now with a new gun.

How the fuck is that fair!?!

  • @Setzergabbini I know you were just trying to express how this band is good, and I agree with that, but stop being such a weaboo. You're crazy if you think there is no good American music, video games and etc.

  • @Setzergabbini Couldn't agree more.

  • @Setzergabbini Fuck off Japfag.

  • That is one strong guitar. o___o

I love FLCL ever since I was a preteen.. :3

    Awesome song too~

  • Best anime ever made. It touches on life, love, and just plain ridiculousness in a perfect blend of animation and music. Everything about these 6 episodes is top notch.

  • wtf? what show is this?

the crazy randomness of this video intrigues me

  • @typhooni8 WHAT?!?!? you have never seen Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri?!?!?

  • @WTFsubzero

    nooo.... should i have?

  • @typhooni8 YES IT IS ONE OF THE BEST ANIME OF ALL FREAKING TIME!!!!! IT IS A FUCKING LEGEND!!! lol no but seriously its really popular, unique, and awsome.

  • @typhooni8 WATCH IT!!! you won't regret it (unless you hate randomness, or need everything to make sense)

  • @zephyr20x6

    BLOODY AWESOME... FRICKIN UNBELIEVABLE

  • @typhooni8 saw it?

  • @zephyr20x6

haha yeah a few months ago, kinda remembered i commented somewhere.

thanks for givin me the name of the show!

    eternally indebted!

  • @typhooni8 no problem, your welcome :)

  • @typhooni8 n prob, your welcome :)

  • Awesome video 5/5

    @olaxer

    Lol he's only 12.

  • Haruko was sorta Naota's crazy sunshine.

    *Lamepun*

I think it's probably for the best if he moves on with Ninamori though. Haruko's too free spirited for real committed love.

  • @BeGrunge plus she was selfish, ninamori was the girl closer to his age right? I know mimami kinda abandoned him...

  • @zephyr20x6 Yeah, ninamori was the one with the purple hair. as for mamimi, he rejected her because she just wanted to dominate him and feel like she was in control, just like the cat and the tiny robot. when he rejected her, it pissed her off at first, but once she saw him standing on his own two legs at the end, she was able to move on and try to make something of herself.

  • @BeGrunge I always thought she was trying to replace takkun with naota, because she couldn't move on from her last boyfriend, I also thought that's why she named her cat, and robot takkun, and that when she realized naota wasn't takkun so she moved on, thats how I saw it at least. I could be wrong though, plus I don't remember him rejecting her, I just remember her leaving to be a photographer.

  • @zephyr20x6 it was in the second to last episode, Brittle Bullet. she calles him Ta-kun, he gets pissed and says that his name is Naota, and climbs into canti to save the day.

  • @BeGrunge

    @zephyr20x6

    so you're both right?

she couldn't move on from her last boyfriend, tried to replace takkun with naota, and dominated him to keep her fantasy real.

when he rejects her, she calls that robot thingy... the core i think it was takun, then it takes her a while before she can actually move on.

i never realize how deep this series actually was. it was crazy!

  • I love this show and the music two.

  • :D Loved this show~

  • The creator of FLCL is NOT dead. At least not the anime.

  • @Hibbidyhai Your right, he's not dead. But fyi it started as a anime only.

  • @cbass5511 no it did not it started as 2 manga!

  • @Never0let0me0in I'm sorry but you are incorrect. The mangas came after the show due to demand in Japan. This show was a showcase for the company for animation. It's been discussed many times by the creator and crew.

  • you wont see her again.....the creator of FLCL died shortly after it was written due to a drug overdose....

  • This dead-cause fits very well.

    R.I.P. maker of FLCL

  • froufroulover4's friend not her... i think i have to watch this anime. i tried reading the manga, but i couldnt understand what was going on in any of the action scenes (or just about anywhere else for that matter) awesome song!

  • The show is totally about Takun's transformation into an adult from an awkward teenager. Keep in mind all your awkwardness from Jr High in terms of parents, girls, and responsibility next time you watch it and it takes on a whole new meaning.

  • One could say he learns to grow up by accepting that it's ok to be a kid.

  • @olaxer1 You could argue it's the exact opposite as well. Naota learned to chill and act like a kid.

  • @olaxer1 which i had watched this show like 9 years ago when it came out......damn, im 22 now but i can understand this shit much better now than i could then

  • @olaxer1 his name is naota

  • Epic Anime

  • The beauty of it is thats its so random but even randomness has meaning...thats whats so envigorating about its plot...it always has interesting key points to an actual "Plot" and you just fall in love with the characters and find yourself wanting more every episode...sadly theres only so few :( again making you wish there was more XD

  • @DagaClown its a good thing that there are only a few episodes cause if it was a was a long series it would get diluted like naruto, what they should make is movies or OVA's of FLCL

  • @DagaClown If they made more episodes, it would ruin the show's message, which is basically:

Growing up sucks; people will always treat you your age, no matter how mature you are; they will always expect you to act your age.

  • @DagaClown nah i think just as few episodes are what makes it so unique you know, such a short thing that can bring up so many nostalgic emotions, just like a vague memory from long ago ^^

  • love fooly cooly watch it 24 7

  • You'd be dead.

    Nice.

  • There is no one true meaning to this show really. It has it's own special meaning to each person that watches it. There's a song by the pillows called (in the english translation) you will all die soon. It's me and my best friends song. Im deeply in love with her but could never say it. Now she lives halfway across the country and I dont have a number.

  • If only you swung the bat :(

  • you will see her again someday don't worry

  • @Zack1346 i hope your right....

  • Wow the first time I watched Fooly Cooly is when I was in grade nine. So whenever I watch it, it brings me back to the best school year ever. =^-^= It also inspired me to play bass.

  • best anime ever created, bar none. Thats all that has to be said. Thank god they never attempted any sequels (so far as I know).

  • I have to disagree. I'd put it in second place right next to BeBop.

  • hell yea

  • It took me from the age of 9-15 to fully understand this i finally do wonderful show

  • lol

  • If you understand it then you don't.

  • When i here the word anime i think FLCL, i thinks its true success is in that it wasn't about unyielding action, romance, or super deep character monologs. It was just a fun series about some of the experiences that stay with you through adolescence and adulthood. But thats just me and everyone has there own significance. Great Series.

  • i drank coffe when i was tiny,

and i used to LOVE this show, but i lived in a tiny town so i didnt catch it much...

but i always have and always like haruko, so cool and smart and yet shes good at acting like she knows nothing. hehe her and her moments.

  • I still remember watching it at the age of 10... and pretty much as previous post i wanted to act as Naota... Proving mature, closed and... with it started my mania for the guitar... played acoustic for 1 year, bought an electric and now im ordering a Rickenbacker 4001 (haruko's bass guitar)

    Same colour...

going to spend the money iv earned in 2 years of working / saving money...

Now im 14 and even if i don't play guitar that well i still can't wait to get that Rickenbacker 4001...

    Weird eh?

  • What a great story about adolescence, brings some nostalgia back eh?

  • to everyone who commented below me on this page, agreed.

  • dont we all
