breach of conduct? Spewing vulgarities for cheap laughs and the like qualifies as disorderly conduct in my opinion. And what "good democratic liberal causes" is Garofalo referring? I've listened at times to Rhodes show and there is nothing there. So why the hype over her suspension? If Imus (who I am not a fan of anyway) gets canned, why should Rhodes be exempt from some sort of disciplinary action? Public figures, for the most part, should be held accountable.

The elites you would impugn are not "liberal" or "conservative". Nor are they these puffed up blowhards teaching at colleges.
In todays world in politics, Ron Paul represents what I would call a modern elite thinker. He is a "Classical Liberal" if you want a label.
America turned away from this philosophy, and we will pay a heavy price for this in the next 50 years. Everything is coming to head; the consumption party is nearly over.
The "elites" will not need to say "I told you so".

None come close to national leadership potential except Gore, but his star burned out in 2000; he'll never be elected to office again for anything.
But I agree that we need folks like this speaking out and challenging the status quo. Without people like this, life would be dull beyond belief.

AAR had issues from the beginning, not because it's left-wing radio, but because they had financial backers that, well, didn't back them. It had nothing to do with the network being left. Speaking truth to power is what this country needs, and the right is certainly not doing that.

Absolutely Shelley. AAR had issues simply because of horrendous planning and idiotic management decisions (like this one). There is a major market for liberal/left wing talk radio, it's just AAR didn't do it correctly.

Without elites we would not have had a Soviet Union, domestic communism, animal rights protests, abortion, global warming awareness, Iraq surrender proposals, international appeasement along with many, many more wonderful accomplishments.
