...Kurz vor dem 50. Todestag wurde in Hollywood ein Film über Sacco und Vazetti gedreht. Zur Filmmusik gehört dieser Titel "Here's to you Nicola and Bart", gesungen von Joan Baez.

Nicola Sacco und Bart Vanzetti waren zwei aus Italien eingewanderte amerikanische Arbeiter. Sie waren aktive Mitglieder der linken Gewerkschaftsbewegung und hatten Streiks und Demonstrationen organisiert. Wegen eines Mordes, mit dem sie nichts zu tun hatten, wurden sie im Jahre 1920 angeklagt und nach einem äußerst zweifelhaften Gerichtsverfahren zum Tode verurteilt.

This might not be the best version, but it is still very good. The wide variety of languages makes this rendition notable. I wish there was a video to go with it, but what would one expect from the early 1970's. Still very good.

una storia sempre attuale purtroppo...ogni volta che per un uomo "scatta" la pena di morte dovremmo sempre chiederci se abbiamo fatto tutti qualcosa per evitarlo, a maggior ragione per coloro che, come Sacco e Vanzetti, hanno pagato per il loro credo politico. Als ich "damals" aus dem Kino kam (für mich in der RAF-Zeit), konnte ich zum ersten Mal verstehen, was jemanden bewegt Bomben zu werfen. Ich bin trotzdem aktive Pazifistin geworden und ich mag diese Version von Daliah Lavi. Danke für den Upload!
