These fights are pretty awesome considering WCC doesn't happen in here, only skills and such.

But since I've never done PVP battles, I've never really understood the reason for how when one player activates a Time-Freeze Card, then the other player springs a card of their own, and sometimes they go back and forth like that. Is that a tactic to get your card to act before your opponents?

This is going to be a really late reply, so I don't know if you already know now but:

Player A uses Gemini Spark SP

Player B counters with Invis (This will act first)

Player A counters with CancerBubbleSP (This acts before Invis, Gemini Spark SP is now discarded)

Playere B counters with Aura (this acts before Cancer, Invis is thrown away)

so it's like a trap, of sorts.

And they do use WCC cards actually, it's how they get such massive HP.
