When I first read about this in the Nintendo Power magazine, I was kinda sad because I wanted a Wii Zelda game. But I LOVED Phantom Hourglass and I think this game looks great. :- D
Too bad it has a forest temple. I LOATHE THE FOREST TEMPLE! D-;
Well, I don't actually know if it is a temple... but all I know is that I see a Skulltulla at 1:33, one of those moth monsters from Windwaker at 0:46 and at 1:37, you're fighting a giant beetle... in a forest. If you put them all together, you kind of get the impression of a forest temple.
I JUST HATE SKULLTULLAS. D-:< It's really pathetic! Seriously. I have to get my younger brother to kill them for me. D-:<
I wouldn't mind if they used this engine to make SEVERAL Zelda DS games. If they do more than 1 game, having a main storyline for all the games would have been cool while have a storyline central to the game alone. Lets see something new with their story telling skills! The plant/boomerang looks like TP's boomerang...unoriginal???
thats why ganondrof know Link in WW because it is the same ganondorf from OoT.
Our only hope for a real time line or something is that Ganondorf himself must say a couple of words to Link who is in a peril at the end of the game. That would be cool =D or mybe Link have to fight 2 or more Ganondorf's =P
If Nintendo had actually explained the time line of the series when confirming that one, I wouldn't argue. But, they didn't, all they did was "confirm" an already existing theory and leave the fans to nitpick at everything.
reading all these timeline debates shows that nintendo REALLY needs to take some time and come up with a real one because you guys get mixed up in your own theories
I'm excited about this. Besides, we have yet to get a BAD Zelda game from Nintendo.
I wish we knew more about the storyline, though. I'm assuming this isn't Link and Tetra from TWW/PH...so why didn't Nintendo try and make them look a little different?
This looks cool, and I'm gonna get it of course, but why aren't they instead making another Zelda for Wii? No offence against PH, which was a great game, but this looks insanely similar, and also we just got a Zelda for DS. I was really looking forward to another Wii Zelda.
It's different (and real, this was shown at a gaming developers conference) but I say different is very good. I think that Twilight Princess showed us that the Zelda formula is getting a tad stale, but Phantom Hourglass freshened things up a bit, and it looks like this is continuing on in that spirit. It almost reminds me of Majora's Mask just because its so bizzare. I can't freakin' wait though. I love weird games.
Im actually starting to believe its real. Like Phantom Hourglass just caught people by surprise when they released the trailer and what not. DSi is coming out in April here in the US so i dont think it'll come out with the DSi
uhh the DSi is coming in two weeks so that will never happen. but nintendo did say they are gonna release it in the fall so your second guess would be correct.
Don't you think they would wait until April for that? -_-;
They seem to have gone through the trouble of programing new weapons and a train system. I doubt they'd put that much effort into an April fools prank, they'd probably just use concept art and screenshots if they were aiming for a prank.
That's impossible for ww to take place after TP, Iwata himself said TP was an alternate future of OOT, meaning WW and TP occur and the exact same time in different timelines.
Also, something I always notice in time line discussions...Obsessive fans always try to apply every flawed story aspect in new Zelda games to the OLD ones. >_>
these pages are filled with timeline comments, but kind in mind it's all theory and we won't be able to draw any conclusions (rough ones at that) until we play through the game
I hope the trees and forest will look better. The train parts look better in motion. The landscaping and the castle with zelda looked bland. That plant weapon looks like the equivalent of the boomerang. Really hyped for this game though.
Hyrule Castle is clearly seen with Zelda in it. But if they rebuilt Hyrule after Phantom HourGlass the would of just of easily built train tracks then too.
Tetra is Zelda though, also notice there's no other houses or anything but that castle (as far as I can see) Tetra, link, and her pirates could've found this land, built a castle, and a train to get around.
Link is shown with the Mirror Shield he got with Wind Waker I think. It looks like Zelda is telling Link to go do something, maybe explore the new land.
My opinion is that Spirit Tracks takes place on a very big island that they discovered sometime after Phantomhourglass or even Windwaker. Then they establish a new hyrule settlement there. I think the introduction to steam engines started in phantomhourglass and carried over to this game.
But in the end of ww it states link and tetra are going to find a new hyrule, not only that but the deku tree planted his seeds to help rebuild the land.
At the end of Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Castle and the town was destroyed. Link went to Termina, and when he came back they rebuilt with all the train stuff.
TWW and PH were set in an alternate timeline from those games, so technology could progress in one timeline and stay all medieval in the other.
And the map of Hyrule changes like every game. It's hardly ever consistent. This very well could be the new land, though. I hope we see more of Linebeck. He was awesome.
In one Twilight Princess interview they confirmed that TP takes place after the Adult timeline of OoT, while Wind Waker takes place after the Child timeline of OoT. And I fail to see any flaws.
I'd be glad to discuss it with anyone who's curious, although you'd have to wait for the actual evidence until around 8:00 PM tonight, as I'd need my external hardrive because that's where the URL's are to the interviews and other evidence.
Not at all. You see, since TP takes place in the child timeline it means that Link never pulled out the master sword in OoT, thus Ganondorf never got his chance to get his hands on the Triforce. That was the whole point of Zelda sending Link back in time at the end of OoT: So he would prevent it all by simply not opening the door to the sacred realm by pulling the Master Sword out.
Meanwhile, the future timeline goes on as if nothing were prevented and it all happened as we saw in OoT.
Right, and the other games can easily take place after and make just as much sense without a split time line. Sure, if you believe in the split time line then that's fine, but I don't believe it and don't think it makes enough sense to be official.
Well yes, but there's no solid proof as to whether they do.
Actually ALTTP doesn't quite do that, seeing as the legend told in ALTTP about Ganondorf getting the triforce and being sealed away in the sacred realm (Dark World) sounds an awful lot like the end of OoT (adult timeline).
But again, there's no solid proof as to where ALTTP goes.
It most likely happens after Zelda 2, link dies eventually so ganon is revived and so thef put the triforce back into the golden land so he could not get to it, but I haven't played LTTP in a while.
Well it's possible it comes after zelda 2 for another reason, because it is the 3rd game, no one really even thought about timelines until OOT when Miyamoto or Iwata or someone said OOT was at the beginning.
How so? The only strong comparisons I see are the basic "collect three items, get the master sword, save maidens, beat ganon". Which is more a mechanical issue than a plot issue.
ALTTP had the whole Dark world thing while OoT had time travel. They functioned completely different though:
The Dark world WAS the sacred realm, the resting place of the Triforce. The future in OoT is not.
The splitting Triforce thing was also a significant plot device that ALTTP didn't have.
True but alot of people say OoT was the ALLTP for the 64. 3 dungeons then travel to the Dark World after you get the master sword and go through like 7 more.
True, but OoT is often referred as the 3D LLTP. But Wind Waker had 2 dungeons follow up after the Master Sword.
TP is like OoT remade. TP takes place int he same Hyrule that OoT did if you look at it carefully you can see alot of the places in OoT destroyed or rebuilt in TP
Also, he couldve been revived then got the triforce so the sages tried to evecute him but couldnt so they sent him to the golden land but he turned it into the darkworld/twilight realm remember the mirror jn lttp and the mirror in tp?
Also, TP is supposed to take place...lets say, 100 years after OOT? Not to mention that Wind Waker said that Ganon escaped 100s of years after the "Hero of Time" defeated him.
What does that have to do with anything? The events in which Ganondorf was chained and hit stabbed by the sages in TP was a flashback, and thus could very well have taken very shortly after the events of OoT.
Of course there's no evidence one way or another, but do you really think Nintendo intended a split time line story? Hell no, they went along with that after realizing that TP has no well thought out continuity with the other games. It makes no sense to say that flashback was 100 years prior because if it were than it would have been stated as such.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Back in 2007, Eiji Aonuma confirmed in an interview that Twilight Princess and the Wind Waker take place in separate timelines. There are actually very few inconsistencies between games that are meant to tie together, such as Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Okay? Him confirming it still doesn't put many of the games in any real, specific order. And, that last part is completely untrue...It makes no sense for there to be a split time line since Wind Waker takes place 100s of years after OOT. That was originally a fan theory, anyway.
In Wind Waker, Ganondorf had been defeated once before, knew the hero of time was coming for him, and pretty much did everything he could to stop him. In TP, he has never fought Link before, and doesn't even recognize the Master Sword. Both games take place hundreds of years after Ocarina, but in different timelines caused when Link went back in time and warned Zelda about Ganondorf. Thus, in the TP timeline, he never conquered Hyrule.
No, you are just seeing plot holes that have been explained by the split timeline. Eiji Aonuma confirmed the split timeline back in 2007, and that's the canon explanation as to why Ganondorf doesn't know Link in TP, because he has never fought him before.
No, I'm seeing plot holes that are never explained but don't have to be. In TP, half of the time there was no actual dialogue directed at Link from any major villain, but rather Midna.
I'm talking specifically about Ganon's remarks to Link about the Master Sword just before the final fight. These remarks make it clear that Ganondorf has never fought Link before, unlike in Wind Waker where he is intimately familiar with the hero and the Master Sword.
He's familiar with Link in WW because the story is set just that way...TP has no well-thought out story that ties in with the others, thus there's no way an actual judgment can be made on the poor dialogue.
Besides, that time line wasn't made "official" until a year after TP's release. It originated as a fan theory that became somewhat popular, so Nintendo thought "hey, our series has no real continuity, so lets just take this theory and set it as the main".
It was actually made official just three months after TP's release. Its status as a fan theory before that was based on incongruities between ALttP and TWW.
TP also references Ocarina several times, and the wolf howls songs from MM, indicating that MM happened in this timeline, after Link came back from the future and altered history. Ganon's invasion just failed because Link had warned the Princess of his plans at the end of OoT. The Japanese intro to TWW also indicates the split timeline.
Doesn't matter, because the fact that Nintendo really put the games in no specific order shows just how baseless the announcement actually was.
Right, as true as that may be, Minish Cap and the Oracle games reference OOT and MM possibly even more. Again, just pure speculation. Zelda had already known of Ganondorf's plans when you first encounter her in OOT.
Also, what Japanese intro? Doing a search got me nothing.
Translating the Hylian text at the bottom of the scroll into Japanese explains that Link went back in time, implying the split timeline, because TWW takes place in the timeline after he defeated Ganondorf. The English intro just says he left.
It actually changes everything. When the game came out, those who argued for a singular timeline pointed to the picture of Link leaving on a horse, indicating that the game took place after Majora's Mask. A careful reading of the intro shows that Majora's Mask never happened in the TWW timeline.
You're getting them mixed up. It's OoT-MM-TP and OoT-TWW-PH. The intro to TWW precludes MM from happening in that timeline. As for the others, their placement is unconfirmed and we could argue for years over them. The closest to an official timeline as stated by Nintendo are those two orders.
But you can use some clues like how every zelda game after alttp shouldn't have a mastersword because it's permanetly laid to rest in alttp. And that the silver arrows are what REALLY kills Ganon, not the mastersword.
Nowhere is it said that the Silver Arrows are the only thing that can kill Ganon. He dies several times in the series, and only two of those deaths are from Silver Arrows. About the Master Sword after ALttP, the "Master Sword rests forever" quote could have been just for dramatic effect, as it shows up in Oracles, which probably take place after ALttP.
A lot of timeline theories have the Oracle games and links awakening after alttp. Those games have no Ganon and the oracle games deal with trying to ressurect them. I know there's no proof about any of this, but it makes a lot of sense. When he dies other times in the series, he comes back in a later game, and in loz and alttp the deaths are more permanent if you go by many of the more current timeline theories.
Well, that's what I said in my previous post, but you have to remember that the Oracles games have the Master Sword in them, so the "Master Sword Sleeps Forever" in ALttP probably wasn't meant literally. And Ganon's deaths by the Silver Arrows are no more permanent than any other of his deaths.
TWW-permanent (so far)
TP-Probably not permanent
ALttP-Not permanent
Oracles: Not permanent
LoZ-Permanent
Only one of these deaths was permanent, and it's easily undone if you get a Game Over in AoL.
Again, if you follow some current day timelines (not saying they are right) The oracle games and Links awakening have followed alttp. The oracle games i havent played, but I thought the storyline was that you had to defeat Koume and Kotake to stop them from resurrecting Ganon. So I guess you could say the alttp death is permanent until a new zelda game counterfeits that by having a game with him take place after alttp.
Maybe this will explain before Wind waker and how Hyrule was flooded or The new Hyrule Tetra and Link discover. Crossing my fingers for Linebeck: The best Zelda Character Ever!
ooookay.... I'm really happy that another zelda game is comming but I would rather have it on wii. Also I think the whole train thing is absolutely silly. remember when zelda was pretty much a medeval series? this is reminding me of when sonic got a sword -_-
Still, I'm pretty sure this will be good, hopefully better than PH which I found disapointing.
Remember the rumor about the Zelda game with trains before Hyrule got flooded? I think that this is that game!!!! So Spirit Tracks might take place before the events in Wind Waker and Phantom Hour Glass.
OK he gets a train because its more in future ok he is growing and they decideed
-Hey he should be growing up older- so they oviesly made a train i think it is kinda cool but the master sword is gonna be cool if there is one

Either way, it can easily be proved wrong. I certainly don't believe there's a split, only that Nintendo is horrible at continuity in the Zelda games.
Twilight Princess, for one, states that Ganondorf was just recently discovered and brought to trial. Huge plothole alone.

Vladislak 2 years ago
You previously stated it takes place in the adult time line.
*cough time travel plot holes* Ever play Chrono Trigger?
Face it, it makes just as much sense as any of those other random theories that fans come up with.
Magus92 2 years ago
Sorry, I got my first statement reversed. TP takes place after MM in the Child timeline.
Vladislak 2 years ago
Right, and the other games can easily take place after and make just as much sense without a split time line. Sure, if you believe in the split time line then that's fine, but I don't believe it and don't think it makes enough sense to be official.
Magus92 2 years ago
Well the only games that have a confirmed placement in the split timeline are OoT, MM, TP, WW, PH, and now (probably) this game.
The others could go anywhere. Well, not ANYWHERE, but could go in a number of places.
Vladislak 2 years ago
The others fit smoothly into the child, or as I call it, the TP timeline, the only problem is the four sword's trilogy.
megamannt125 2 years ago
Well yes, but there's no solid proof as to whether they do.
Actually ALTTP doesn't quite do that, seeing as the legend told in ALTTP about Ganondorf getting the triforce and being sealed away in the sacred realm (Dark World) sounds an awful lot like the end of OoT (adult timeline).
But again, there's no solid proof as to where ALTTP goes.
Vladislak 2 years ago
It most likely happens after Zelda 2, link dies eventually so ganon is revived and so thef put the triforce back into the golden land so he could not get to it, but I haven't played LTTP in a while.
megamannt125 2 years ago
In ALTTP Ganon has already gotten to it, Link has to reclaim it from him in the end.
As I said, the legend told in ALTTP ends with the door to the sacred realm being sealed with Ganon inside. Much like the end of OoT.
But anyway, that's irrelevant. Like I said, we don't have any confirmation as to where ALTTP goes.
Vladislak 2 years ago
Well it's possible it comes after zelda 2 for another reason, because it is the 3rd game, no one really even thought about timelines until OOT when Miyamoto or Iwata or someone said OOT was at the beginning.
megamannt125 2 years ago
Well I'm not trying to say it's not possible, just that we need concrete proof before we can say it's official. :P
Vladislak 2 years ago
The same trailer was on the nintendo channel on the wii. I don't know if that is proof.
superninjaswordsmen 2 years ago
What isn't? I just got back and there's like a million pages of discussion...don't feel like reading through it all. :P
Magus92 2 years ago
The timeline that includes OoT, MM, TP, PH and now (probably) this game. No more, no less. We don't know where the other games go.
It isn't flawed.
I've sent you a message with URL's that detail the existence of the split timeline.
Vladislak 2 years ago
I assume that LTTP is just the same story as OoT.... chronologically its the same game.
HeroOfWeyard 2 years ago
Vladislak 2 years ago
No, have you played LTTP? its nothing like OOT, at all.
megamannt125 2 years ago
True but alot of people say OoT was the ALLTP for the 64. 3 dungeons then travel to the Dark World after you get the master sword and go through like 7 more.
CometTheHedgehog 2 years ago
Hmm...
Not the only Zelda games that have done the whole 3 dungeons then master sword thing.
LTTP
OOT
WW
TP
megamannt125 2 years ago
True, but OoT is often referred as the 3D LLTP. But Wind Waker had 2 dungeons follow up after the Master Sword.
TP is like OoT remade. TP takes place int he same Hyrule that OoT did if you look at it carefully you can see alot of the places in OoT destroyed or rebuilt in TP

Also, he couldve been revived then got the triforce so the sages tried to evecute him but couldnt so they sent him to the golden land but he turned it into the darkworld/twilight realm remember the mirror jn lttp and the mirror in tp?
megamannt125 2 years ago
Ganandorf broke the seal in the adult time line and escaped. The gods then flooded Hyrule to stop him.
Kid Link warned the king about Ganandorfs plot and he was imprisoned but escaped in Twilight Princess.
Calren1 2 years ago
Also, TP is supposed to take place...lets say, 100 years after OOT? Not to mention that Wind Waker said that Ganon escaped 100s of years after the "Hero of Time" defeated him.
Magus92 2 years ago
What does that have to do with anything? The events in which Ganondorf was chained and hit stabbed by the sages in TP was a flashback, and thus could very well have taken very shortly after the events of OoT.
Vladislak 2 years ago
There's no evidence to support that either way.
Magus92 2 years ago
There's no evidence against it either.
If you're looking for evidence then you'll have to wait anyway. I already said, I'll have access to the URL's I've saved around 8:00 PM.
Until then... Well I have a Calculus class to attend.
Vladislak 2 years ago
I've seen those videos. >_>
Of course there's no evidence one way or another, but do you really think Nintendo intended a split time line story? Hell no, they went along with that after realizing that TP has no well thought out continuity with the other games. It makes no sense to say that flashback was 100 years prior because if it were than it would have been stated as such.
Magus92 2 years ago
Nintendo did confirm to time lines. Thats how they made OoT. like 10 years before TP

Yes.

Uh well Magus who started this conversation?

Me, but what does that have to do with what I just said?
Magus92 2 years ago
who are you to say I have no clue what I'm talking about maggot. Seriously.
Calren1 2 years ago
Actually they said TP was at least 100 years AFTER OOT or something like that, if im not wrong.
VolpeNeraStudio 2 years ago
What videos? I've seen some flawed split timeline theories on Youtube, but the split timeline with the games I mentioned only isn't flawed.

After OoT Kid timeline
Calren1 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Back in 2007, Eiji Aonuma confirmed in an interview that Twilight Princess and the Wind Waker take place in separate timelines. There are actually very few inconsistencies between games that are meant to tie together, such as Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Okay? Him confirming it still doesn't put many of the games in any real, specific order. And, that last part is completely untrue...It makes no sense for there to be a split time line since Wind Waker takes place 100s of years after OOT. That was originally a fan theory, anyway.
Magus92 2 years ago
In Wind Waker, Ganondorf had been defeated once before, knew the hero of time was coming for him, and pretty much did everything he could to stop him. In TP, he has never fought Link before, and doesn't even recognize the Master Sword. Both games take place hundreds of years after Ocarina, but in different timelines caused when Link went back in time and warned Zelda about Ganondorf. Thus, in the TP timeline, he never conquered Hyrule.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
No, he doesn't know about him because Nintendo thought "fuck it, we don't care about the plot", just like every other Zelda game.
Magus92 2 years ago
No, you are just seeing plot holes that have been explained by the split timeline. Eiji Aonuma confirmed the split timeline back in 2007, and that's the canon explanation as to why Ganondorf doesn't know Link in TP, because he has never fought him before.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
No, I'm seeing plot holes that are never explained but don't have to be. In TP, half of the time there was no actual dialogue directed at Link from any major villain, but rather Midna.
Magus92 2 years ago
I'm talking specifically about Ganon's remarks to Link about the Master Sword just before the final fight. These remarks make it clear that Ganondorf has never fought Link before, unlike in Wind Waker where he is intimately familiar with the hero and the Master Sword.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
He's familiar with Link in WW because the story is set just that way...TP has no well-thought out story that ties in with the others, thus there's no way an actual judgment can be made on the poor dialogue.
Besides, that time line wasn't made "official" until a year after TP's release. It originated as a fan theory that became somewhat popular, so Nintendo thought "hey, our series has no real continuity, so lets just take this theory and set it as the main".
Magus92 2 years ago
It was actually made official just three months after TP's release. Its status as a fan theory before that was based on incongruities between ALttP and TWW.
TP also references Ocarina several times, and the wolf howls songs from MM, indicating that MM happened in this timeline, after Link came back from the future and altered history. Ganon's invasion just failed because Link had warned the Princess of his plans at the end of OoT. The Japanese intro to TWW also indicates the split timeline.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
Doesn't matter, because the fact that Nintendo really put the games in no specific order shows just how baseless the announcement actually was.
Right, as true as that may be, Minish Cap and the Oracle games reference OOT and MM possibly even more. Again, just pure speculation. Zelda had already known of Ganondorf's plans when you first encounter her in OOT.
Also, what Japanese intro? Doing a search got me nothing.
Magus92 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
Translating the Hylian text at the bottom of the scroll into Japanese explains that Link went back in time, implying the split timeline, because TWW takes place in the timeline after he defeated Ganondorf. The English intro just says he left.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
...It was already apparent that he went back in time to anyone who had played OOT, so that slight miss-translation doesn't change much...
Magus92 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
It actually changes everything. When the game came out, those who argued for a singular timeline pointed to the picture of Link leaving on a horse, indicating that the game took place after Majora's Mask. A careful reading of the intro shows that Majora's Mask never happened in the TWW timeline.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
Uhh, the alternate time line reads like this...
OOT-MM-TP-TWW-PH
>_>
Magus92 2 years ago
Correction there:
OOT-MM-TWW-PH
Magus92 2 years ago
You're getting them mixed up. It's OoT-MM-TP and OoT-TWW-PH. The intro to TWW precludes MM from happening in that timeline. As for the others, their placement is unconfirmed and we could argue for years over them. The closest to an official timeline as stated by Nintendo are those two orders.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
But you can use some clues like how every zelda game after alttp shouldn't have a mastersword because it's permanetly laid to rest in alttp. And that the silver arrows are what REALLY kills Ganon, not the mastersword.
BRAWL001 2 years ago
Nowhere is it said that the Silver Arrows are the only thing that can kill Ganon. He dies several times in the series, and only two of those deaths are from Silver Arrows. About the Master Sword after ALttP, the "Master Sword rests forever" quote could have been just for dramatic effect, as it shows up in Oracles, which probably take place after ALttP.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
A lot of timeline theories have the Oracle games and links awakening after alttp. Those games have no Ganon and the oracle games deal with trying to ressurect them. I know there's no proof about any of this, but it makes a lot of sense. When he dies other times in the series, he comes back in a later game, and in loz and alttp the deaths are more permanent if you go by many of the more current timeline theories.
BRAWL001 2 years ago
Well, that's what I said in my previous post, but you have to remember that the Oracles games have the Master Sword in them, so the "Master Sword Sleeps Forever" in ALttP probably wasn't meant literally. And Ganon's deaths by the Silver Arrows are no more permanent than any other of his deaths.
TWW-permanent (so far)
TP-Probably not permanent
ALttP-Not permanent
Oracles: Not permanent
LoZ-Permanent
Only one of these deaths was permanent, and it's easily undone if you get a Game Over in AoL.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
Again, if you follow some current day timelines (not saying they are right) The oracle games and Links awakening have followed alttp. The oracle games i havent played, but I thought the storyline was that you had to defeat Koume and Kotake to stop them from resurrecting Ganon. So I guess you could say the alttp death is permanent until a new zelda game counterfeits that by having a game with him take place after alttp.
BRAWL001 2 years ago
Okay, just to make things clear I'll post my timeline:
TMC-OoT-MM-TP-FS-FSA-ALttP-LA-Oracles-LoZ-AoL
and
TMC-OoT-TWW-PH
I can't tell where ST is supposed to go from the 2-minute trailer. I'll just assume it's sometime after PH, but it could be anywhere.
Ganondorfdude11 2 years ago
Finally, I see someone actually knows about the correct split-timeline.

Maybe this will explain before Wind waker and how Hyrule was flooded or The new Hyrule Tetra and Link discover. Crossing my fingers for Linebeck: The best Zelda Character Ever!
whailman 2 years ago
I think this game takes place before Hyrule was flooded.
Calren1 2 years ago
this is very confusing...
awesomo79 2 years ago
ooookay.... I'm really happy that another zelda game is comming but I would rather have it on wii. Also I think the whole train thing is absolutely silly. remember when zelda was pretty much a medeval series? this is reminding me of when sonic got a sword -_-
Still, I'm pretty sure this will be good, hopefully better than PH which I found disapointing.
nintendo22890 2 years ago
It could suck with train, but the boat thing was pretty cool. Maybe this will lead to a Wii title.
Calren1 2 years ago
Dang Link looks cool! Sooooo can't wait for this game!
Linkachu710 2 years ago
Remember the rumor about the Zelda game with trains before Hyrule got flooded? I think that this is that game!!!! So Spirit Tracks might take place before the events in Wind Waker and Phantom Hour Glass.
Calren1 2 years ago
Actually, in that Rumor, Link wasn't the protagonist. That and the game had another name. So it's very unlikely.
It is quite possible though with the train and all.
Either way Yay new LoZ. =D
HeroRags 2 years ago
I bet Link starts out in the game as a small time train conductor and then becomes a hero like in the other titles.
Calren1 2 years ago
Or it could take place after PH and link and zelda/tetra have found their new hyrule
