personally i don't see that any of the darker, self-destructive implications of the song are addressed by the video, starting with the fact that it's deliberately sun-eyed OR cynide girl; beck has never endorsed 'official' lyrics which reinforces my position that this ambiguity is central to the song, and the main factor in it's genius.

Apologies for dissing your video, but its a common problem with music videos that the director doesn't really gerasp the song, cf (off the top of my head) australia, by the shins; another major miscalculation of the music, though again an easy slip since the tune is perfectly cheery.

But in all honestly this movie was a product of high school students suffering from senioritis and therefore we did not take the time to fully analyze the underlying themes and minutia of Beck's brilliance.
