  • How much would it cost for you to build me one of those?

  • schematic please man

  • Sorry there isnt one just made it up as i went along.....

  • @noizetoyze Reverse engineer it yourself and write up schematics as you go along?

  • I would love to, only i sold it about 2 years ago.....

  • you should feed the output through into a talkbox or vocoder. you could do awesome voices :D

  • Thanks...will give it some thought

  • simpy, .briliamnt. i was one of theold Atari team,i p pogrammed AMY. I am an atarian.

have you played your Atari today ?

  • I am pleased you liked what you are hearing, thanks for your comments

  • Is itr a pokey ? Atari 8bit ? sounds great

  • I got it on a bread breadboard with a little crappy speaker, I would prefer to hook it up to a regular hifi. How have you made your line out? Mini jack, rca?

And do you have a little amplifier built in to get the signal to line level?

I've built a minuscule amplifier but I'm not sure that it can take the impedance of an proper amp.

I'm not even sure that it makes sense what I'm asking about I'm very green.

    Cheerios

  • line out goes through a 1/4" socket and runs directly to an amplifier, the output is more than capable of driving an amp or even a small pair of headphones.

This is just the standard atari punk output ,no signal amplification....thanks for asking

  • @noizetoyze I built it now and I just put some extra pots istead of the fixed resistances and got alot of sound : )

  • Excellent work, try and get a video up so we can hear it....

  • Think it did and no i have not got any schematics, all made up as i built it...

  • Awesome!!

    Thanks for sharing!!

  • And thank you for your comment !!

  • el primero suena a Peace of Mind de Bat for Lashes

  • Gracias no me di cuenta de que !

  • @noizetoyze do you know that song?. The synth is homemade?

  • I did not know the song until you said about it and then i looked it up on Youtube and you were right ! and yes it is home made by me...

  • i want it

  • Yeah so do i, wish i had'nt sold it now

  • very cool.

  • what is this? a music genre or what

  • I dont know ,what do you think it is ?

  • @noizetoyze i really dont have any idea

  • @noizetoyze Aphex Twin

  • I will take that as a compliment...cheers

  • @noizetoyze it is :)

  • make on for me lol

  • Have'nt done any for a while, will have to get the soldering iron out !!!!

  • @noizetoyze ahhhhh man lol if u made one how much u will charge

  • Dont get time to make them for myself these days !!!,other people put them on Ebay now and then so its worth a look for one on there.....thanks for your comments

  • 0:32 - 0:46 sounds like Yar's Revenge

  • Thanks...it does a bit...

  • dopee

  • awesome! but how did you hook up that third pot? the schematics i've been only have 2 pots, and if there is a 3rd one it's usually the volume. nice case too.

  • Its just another circuit i added that controls the c.v input on punk osc, didnt bother with a volume control.

    Thanks for your comment :)

  • where can u buy one?

  • Try Ebay ,but i dont think anyone makes them commercialy.Or just make one !!

  • would be great if it had a CV outpu for controlling osc frequency...

    it sounds sexy and nasty

  • Yeah i know what you mean...mayby if i make another one !!!....Thanks for the comments....

  • How do I acquire the skills to make and understand such magical toys?

  • Internet..........

  • I feel like an ass because I just went out to pick up parts for one of these and I got tapped resistors and not adjustable ones, at least I can still make some sounds :P

  • Doh ! !

  • Can this somehow be used with an electric guitar? This would sound SICK with it!

  • Not really ..... but hook them both together with a ring modulator and it could be quite interesting !!

    Thanks..

  • How about connecting the output of a guitar preamplifier to the reset pin on the LM555 in the punk console? This could maybe sync the waveforms from the oscillators to the guitar.

  • I am sure someone will have a go.......or point out why it will or wont work.

    Thanks for the comment though.....

  • Could you drop circuit diagram

  • Sorry dont have one,Google Atari punk schematic...that should get you the info you need...

  • Thanks for your input......

  • HEY! this is the best atari Punk!!!

can you tell me the page whit this mods???

im from argentina! and i really want build thats!

    Thanks!!

  • Sorry no real info i just made it up as i went along.

Its just the standard circuit but with a homemade lfo controlling the cv in on the 556....just build one,get it working and then start modifying it.

There is stuff out there if you Google it.

Good luck and thanks for the comment....

  • hertzshchneitzenkeidagenn -Mr.Guy Skate Vid-

  • Do i need to plug this into an amplifier? Or can i just include a speaker in it?

  • Either will be ok,worked fine for me through a pair of headphones with no amplification....

  • Ok, ordered the parts yesterday so expect a vid soon :)

  • do knobs one and three both control the second oscillator, just with different value pots? that third knob produces the familiar 500k ohm sound, but that first knob seems to produce fewer steps.

  • To be quite honest i cant remember and i dont own it anymore.

It was just a 555 osc putting a signal into the control volts inputs 3 and 11on the 556......

  • how did you make the case?

  • Just made out of some scrap wood and a piece of aluminium sheet for the front panel, just stuff i had kicking about and cheaper than buying a case !!!

  • nvm i found one

  • can u post a schematic for this or send me a message of the site where u found this? all i can find are books u hav to buy on how to build the circuit. thanks.

  • is it hard to make one of these? i have little to no experience with circuitry and none at all with soldering... :/

  • Not that hard really, give it a go the schematics are all over the net and tips on soldering and putting circuits together are there as well....good luck

  • COOL IM MAKING ONE just need two more resistors.
