  • Fantastic. Learned a lot. Like I tweeted you, I do one arm scapula retraction and contraction using one arm at a time using a low cable row. When first starting it, it's a bit to get used to, not bending the arm, pulling with the scapula, but makes full rows stronger. I do reverse shrugs too using a high cable.

  • Awesome! Thank you! :) I'm thinking the cable/band retraction holds could fit right in this video after the "awareness" drill (dowel rod)! I miss cables - don't work in a gym anymore...for many exercises, they just work better than bands! I think I have a vid somewhere where I do what I call "scap pullups"...essentially what you're talking about with the reverse shrugs! Yay for scaps!

    Definitely! The Serratus Anterior is typically both tight AND weak...and I feel scap push-ups address both issues! :)
