  • this is making me nostalgic, i used to hurry home from school just to watch this every day, they just don't make then like they used to any more

  • I can't find who the singer was on this song. I know Tom Snow wrote the music, and Dean Pitchford wrote the lyrics. Does anyone know?

  • The disney afternoon kicked ass!

  • this is so epic the singer is so good and its so cachy

  • Never knew there was a soundtrack. Epic find.

  • i dont know if u guys realize but the singers of these were very good, professional. even though it was jsut a cartoon very talented, great voice

  • Oh, man this brings back memories. Disney cartoons have really gone down since the Disney Afternoon.

  • Yeah!!!!

  • And good part about it, was after it ended at 5:00, I'd switch the channel for Ninja Turtles! (in the earlier years at least). Programming has just made different roads these days where cartoons air on cable instead of non-cable (except for Sunday Night on FOX).

  • that made me cry :') i miss those days. my grampa bought me a t.v. just so i could come home after school and watch disney afternoon and i was always so broken hearted when the 4th cartoon ended cuz he disney afternoon went away for another day.

  • i think some of these disney programes that are on today really have ruined the ones that was on years ago.

  • I had this CD when I was a kid! I remember listening to this song on repeat with my headphones on long car trips! It takes me back! :D Thank you for posting.

  • @alysonlburch hahah cool

  • I used to watch almost all these Disney shows growing up. I never saw them on "The Disney Afternoon" though. I saw these shows in syndication on Toon Disney (before it became Disney XD). "Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers" was my all-time favorite.

  • @MrJohnnyv1993

Out of all the fantastic shows on this segment "Talespin" will always remain closest to my heart. Actually most of the DA shows started out as programs on the Disney Channel before they went to syndication on Disney Afternoon. Bonkers actually had an all new season made for syndication. (Which was actually a prequel to the one shown on Disney Channel.)

  • could you please set up a download link? PLEASE!

  • i remember this back when i was 5 and i still remember it i grew up with it

  • I'll Bet Walt Disney Himself (r.i.p) would be turning over in his grave, and If he was alive, I'll bet he'll be shocked at how far at what he created has fallen, I always thought that his cartoons were susposed to be about, Love, Friendship, and above all hope, I've just rented the dvd eddition of "Dumbo", and it was unbelievable, and this movie has taught me that it's ok to be different. so I think that everyone should watch this movie, because it's Unbelievable.

  • Yes, I remember this, I have this OST someplace in a box on cassette tape! (God, that makes me feel old. LOL)

  • Thumbs me up if you think Walt Disney should come back to life and fire everyone for fucking up HIS Disney :D

  • If the original poster of the video still has the CD in question, does the case contain any liner notes or artist credits or anything? The music feel so familiar and nostalgic. I'd love to try to get ahold of more it.

Btw, does anyone remember the "Hot Days, Cool Nights" promo song that Disney was playing for a while? I think it would have aired during the summer of '95 if I remember correctly.

  • Much better in Swedish ..

  • im a true baloo disney afternoon fan it trully was a part a big part of my life and always love it forever more

  • mighty ducks gonna fuck you up

  • Oh my, Disney Afternoon played such a big part of my childhood! It's so awful that Disney doesn't air any of the classic cartoons anymore. What happened to Donald Duck, Silly Symphonies, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, etc? I feel like the classic characters have just been erased for good. Do the right thing and bring 'em back to TV Disney!

  • Yeah Disney is Dead!

  • ...That's weird. I don't recognize the theme song, but I recognize every single show in the picture.

  • I remember The Disney Afternoon. I saw some of the cartoons every once in a while.

  • Dear Disney,

Where did your magic go? Don't lose yourself in these teenybopper live action sitcoms that has the same story line over and over again. I'm tired of seeing girls with tiny wastes and preppy attitudes who think singing will make them rich. Give it a rest and go back to how it was before with animation that made us laugh and giddy with excitement.

    Sincerely Me

  • @nightmaresfollowme

Sad isn't it? I miss the days when Disney used to be about imagination and adventure.

  • i miss tht :P

  • I grew up in the hood, and there was a lot of bullshit going on. On top of all this I got into a lot fights at school. But watching Disney afternoon made me forget the trouble that went on throughout the day. Even when I'm going through, I hear this song and even thing is better. @atomofish Thanks for up loading.

  • oh my gos!! My childhood came back!!! Im the original disney afternoon,,,you see disney charactors with humans in the video!!!! my gos,,i feel old!!! i can tell a lot of people here never saw this before.... : P

  • it not disney

  • I need this song instrumental

  • @Multimediet Search for "Disney Festival Dutch intro" in Flanders this was our opener. Don't know where you can find 2m30s version though

  • Man, this is just filling me up with so much nostalgia of coming home from school w/ my brother and sitting around the tv, watching the classic Disney toons we loved.

  • Mighty ducks, gorgoyals, dark wing duck, and tail spin are all things that need to be in kingdom hearts

  • @XINKAI << you haz point..., they need to include it in kingdom hearts 3 :P

If they would that, they would be very very awesome!

  • Great theme tune this was. Although being theme for Disney Afternoon in USA/Canada it was also the theme tune to The Disney Club here in the UK, which was on CITV Sunday mornings at 9.25am. The lyrics were changed here to that the words 'Disney Afternoon' was not heard.

  • I found them On ITunes all tracks

  • Btw... ( sorry for double commenting )

But who sings this stuff actually?

  • I downloaded all the Batman: the Animated series.

Want to download all old cartoons out there and store them :3

  • I can proudly say that I can name the shows all these characters are from. And OMG THE MIGHTY DUCKS!!!! It's been more than ten years since I've seen that show, as well as Gummi Bears, Bonkers, Darkwing Duck, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Timon and Puumba, and Aladdin the series. I literally wake up at four in the morning just to watch Gargoyles I love being a 90s baby. These kids today don't know what they're missing.

  • If they restart Toondisney and The Disney Afternoon, I can bet at LEAST half of the U.S. would explode from joy, and excitment. I would help cause that joyful explosion.

  • @acemrawesome That goes for me too.

  • @acemrawesome Maybe the crime will stop :D But Really, (I doubt that crime will stop) i miss this

  • Everybody's busy, bringin' you a Disney Afternoon!

  • If some of those should be in KH then those should be the Gargoyles, Mighty Ducks and Darkwing Duck.

  • cartoons nowadays suck, i wonder if its just us liking the 90's that's making us think like that. and i wonder if people from before the 90's thought the same way of those cartoons as we think of the ones today

  • Dang, you can cut the nostalgia with a knife!

This has me wondering... though change is always inevitable, how the FLIP did our Disney go from whimsy, fun, imaginative, and memorable cartoons, to teen shows that apply a laugh track and angst every which way they can?

How has the number of teen sitcoms outnumber the cartoons? The things that made Disney relevant in the first place??

Why is Disney's mascot only seen on a preschool show??

    What happened??! D:

  • @DTFaux Simple, disney was loosing money, and test showed that very few shows that appealed to teens... and then the smart people at marketing took a bigger bite than was probably healthy

  • Chip n Dale please?

  • Hey, can you upload the Louie's theme? That's on there, right? That was such a fun song!

  • True Disney cartoons

  • I remember watching these shows when I was a kid and loving them. I also remember wishing there were more girl characters... 1 or 2 females in an entire cast is not enough. Some of those shows didn't even have any girls...

  • Awww I had this cassette tape for Disney Afternoon... I used to dance around to it. Awesome.

  • @BonnieBunee I thought they were switching to CD then.

  • @NewDisneySucksHard Hmm, it was probably available. :) CDs came out in like, the 80s and Disney afternoon was like, 1990 so yeah it must have been. I'm pretty sure it might have depended on how rich you were - my family didn't get a CD player until like 1998, so IDK. Either way, I totally rocked it on cassette tape, and even had to turn it over to hear the whole thing. Ha.

  • i don't really remember this song o.o

  • The mid 80's through early 90's were Disney's golden years. I miss these shows so much. T~T

  • @kirara2514 Yeah me too. I still watch them on the internet sometimes. I show my kids these then talk about how the new shows just are not as cool

  • Fuck Disney XD, this was the real stuff

  • i dont remember this but it only makes me want to see these shows again

  • Oh my god, I still have this song and a collection of a bunch of other DIsney Afternoon songs on a cassette tape! Thank you for uploading this so I don't have to pull out my boom box to listen to this when I feel the need for nostalgia. XDDD

  • What the F*** is Abu doing there?!?

  • @mhollis1989

Aladdin was too busy screwing Jasmine.

  • I could name 10 dozen cartoons that would rock your sock and even your shoe in the good ol' days! Bonkers, Chip & Dale, Don Coyote, Gummi Bears, and many, many more! Today's cartoons don't have the same flair but there are a few decent ones we cope with such Phineas & Ferb. Toon Disney fell victim to Disney XD which changed even more and even it lost its cartoonyness.

    Good times...

  • In denmark this show was called "Disney Sjov" (Disney Fun) and came every friday afternoon! It was just a instrumental short version of this theme, but it was awesome still :D

  • @Mucrush

Yeah but I always wanted to hear to whole song, instead of just the instrumental. But maybe they just couldn't come up with a good translation in danish.

  • Awww, maaan...we didn't had something like that in germany, the german disney channel started to get bad at around 1999/2000/2001...but even so, i love to look all those childhood memorys in it's original verions...don't get me wrong with this but: Not everything was bad, what came out of the USA^^

  • You know what? I realized something. Some people had their childhood in the 80's and some people in the 90's, but my childhood was 80's and 90's. It's no wonder my childhood was so awesome!!!

  • The 17 people who disliked this must have had lousy childhoods.

  • @atomofish They are just jealous that they missed this back then. XD

  • @atomofish

Hey, it's never too late for them to have a happy childhood! ^^

  • @atomofish Correction: They had NO childhood.

  • @Kovu427

    Indeed. XD

  • @atomofish yeah seriously this is just awsome.

  • @atomofish or they have benn living under a rock during the 90's

  • This reminds me of good times watching the shows associated with it.

By the way, there ARE good, funny shows like these out there. You just have to find them. I, for one, like the Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb, but some of you have other favourites.

  • I Had This CD When I Was 5. It Was The Last Memory I Had Before My Parents Got Divorced... So Dancing To This CD Was One Of My Last Happy Childhood Memories.. Im Almost 20 Now... Never Thought Id Be Looking Back Seeing How Much Better Cartoons Were When I Was Younger Compared To All The Crap Now...

  • @Kramer02 Dude, there was a CD? I thought there was only a cassette tape! I didn't even know what a CD was when this was on...

  • Damn, this show kicks ass. To Serdikhan: Yes I know the 90s are dead, but I wish they weren't. I hate 21st century. It so fucking lame. Nothing good on TV anymore, music sucks, etc. Best times were 1985-1998. Fuck New Disney. This was the good stuff. I wish that this time frame would die and burn in hell.

  • @lovehamsters14 I was born in 1987, i remember the golden 90s....and i saw its demise when Miley and Raven showed up.....and.....someothers on nick....I DONT EVEN WATCH NICK ANYMORE....AT THAT SOME SHIT....

  • @smoothkidd272k6 You were lucky. 2000s suck. Why the fuck was I born in '94???

  • @smoothkidd272k6 I agree, but I don't think it was so much Miley and Raven. I think kids today have a different taste. Everything seems to be an eastern style now...oversized eyes, mouths that don't sync with talking, and motion graphics... I'm 25, a certified Disney freak, and actually really miss this stuff. I'm considering buying at least Tale Spin and Ducktales on DVD so when I have kids, they have some quality cartoons to watch! Although I must admit, Phineas and Ferb is a homerun!

  • @smoothkidd272k6 Raven was one of the good ones...

  • I have alot of great memories from this series.

  • What we need are people with creative ideas. Creative cartoonists can bring a new golden age of animation. There's just no one with any sort of unique idea anymore. The creators in these days were innovative, but their time has drawn to a close. Get thinking, people!

  • Not all today's shows are bleehh stuff. There's The Avatar: The Last Airbender, that's 90's quality there :-)

  • @HRbluetiger07

Avatar is certainly one of the few exceptions. That was a grand cartoon.

  • @atomofish

Then there's Young Justice and The Spectacular Spider-Man.

  • @atomofish I agree there, keyword is exception.

  • @atomofish

and they are doing a sequal series =P

  • @atomofish what about danny phantom?

  • @HRbluetiger07 Personally, I'm all for "Phineas & Ferb". That show cries out for the 90's Nickelodeon shows I grew up with.

  • @HRbluetiger07 That's true.

  • @HRbluetiger07 Avatar licked balls compared to chip and dale, tailspin, darkwing duck and even Gargoyles

  • @HRbluetiger07 there also dbz kai

  • And 90 percent overrated on Nicktoons, even after the series finished! And the show insists on itself more than actualt anime like Naruto. The show is too preachy.

  • @HRbluetiger07 Well, okay, so not all cartoon shows are lousy, but in these times it is so RARE to get cartoon of that 90's quality when back then it was pretty dominant. Phineas and Fern is one cartoon I can sit down, watch, and actually enjoy. That also has a 90's style and quality.

  • I love this song! It gives me the buzz, especially the part 'can you feel the buzz' that really lifts my spirit :-D

  • Ou est le Soul????Sucks

  • Darkwing Duck FTW! :)

  • @Queenofawesome25 Yes another Darkwing fan. ^^

  • Happy :)

  • Some of my favorites:

    1)Darkwing Duck

    2)Gargoyles

    3)Mighty Ducks

    4)Tale Spin

  • @rct126 I wasn't much for Mighty Ducks but the others were epic!

  • @Serdikhan

Yep, it's no wonder some people like computer animation better compared to hand drawn animation.

Which is harder? Computer animation or hand-drawn animation?

  • Best cartoons ever better then the ones they have today

  • @Ajmorris2013 The only problem is nobody wants to watch has-been shows on TV anymore. They prefer the web

  • love, Love, LOVE these good ol' classics!!! All this crap from today is just that, crap. I have got to find all the good stuff on dvds or something so that my nephew, cousins, my own kids, etc. can grow up on good wholesome children's entertainment. All this stuff from that era are priceless & the best ever. I love some good ol' Scooby Doo & Pink Panther, Jetsons & Yogi Bear, etc. Cartoons these days are an embarrassment to the name.

  • @twitchinkriket Nobody cares if it's crap, if it keeps the audiences happy, produces popularity, fortune and fame. You can bet these has-beens of cartoons won't be on the Disney Channel again. Without new episodes and special occasions, these shows will never the light of modern day TV again. These cartoons are now nothing more than just plain old kid's entertainment. That's it. The 21 century turned these shows into has-beens

  • @Serdikhan Actually, you're wrong. There are still several of the older cartoons that get air time.

And it really doesn't matter about the stuff from now days, because the exact same thing will happen to them in the years to come. It's a process of "evolving" & "keeping up with the times", duh.

  • @twitchinkriket Yeah, on minor channels, like Boomerang, where shows no longer airing on their respective channels are shown.

Exactly, things are evolving and trying to keep up with times. New stuff become old stuff. Today's news bacome yesterday's news. And new shows and new episodes to these shows need to be made for studios to stay fresh. Disney 90s cartoons - out of style. Disney live-action comedy sitcoms - the newest style that seems to be working great. WOWP, prepare to have a Season 4.

  • @Serdikhan One of the Disney channels stills play at least 1 of them (that I can think of). But Disney isnt really into the cartoon side of things, thats mostly dominated by Nick.

T.v. these days is over crowded w/ nonsense shows, & I dont just mean for kids. They dont pay enough attention to actually make a quality program that will last for years. So many new & ridiculous programs come on seemingly every day.

But w/ cartoons at least they could last for years w/o characters getting too old.

  • @twitchinkriket The 90s pretty much drained up everything, leaving the 2000s with very little to do. Did everything children like REALLY had to be aired in one and the same decade? Oh, wait, it had to. It was the perfect time and everything was in style for its audience. Exactly how long do people thought the Disney Afternoon will last? Don't answer that. If people truly respect their childhood 20 century decade cartoons, then they'll leave them alone and move on. Nothing's forever.

  • @Serdikhan There were good times from the 80s too & even before that. Its possible that new people arrived on the scene & they didnt have that special knack as those before did, or they just had an entirely (odd) vision.

Nothing lasts forever. We all know this, as much as we may not like it, we know all things come to an end.

There's nothing wrong with 'reminiscing the old days', it's a great reminder of where we've been & how we got to where we are today. It's memories, ones that make us smile.

  • @twitchinkriket Yes, memories that make us smile. Which is why for the shows' sakes and the sake of people's memories, it's better for the shows to not be aired on TV again. People had good memories of them and we want to keep it that way. Don't we?!

  • @Serdikhan I disagree. It's nice to sit down and watch things that were enjoyed as a child. It takes you back in ways that mere thoughts can never amount to.

That's like saying there's no point in having pictures. Or dvds. Or cds. Or anything else of that nature. See where I'm going with this?

  • @twitchinkriket You can watch your favourite cartoon shows on the net. Not to mention download torrents. Problem solved. And you're not going anywhere. It's not the pictures, cds or dvds that are outdated. it's their style.

  • @Serdikhan Not everyone has that luxury. And beside that, ratings=money. So, if they can continue to get viewers, then they'll continue to air it.

You've clearly missed my point about the pictures, etc.

Why are you so against these cartoons? You obviously are missing something in life to be arguing this.

  • @twitchinkriket I'm not against these cartoons, I'm against what people are trying to do with these cartoons. These sitcoms are a hit, right to the point of some of them getting a 4th Season. That's how weak the hatedom for the sitcoms is. And because people compare the live-action sitcoms to the 90s cartoons(two things that have nothing incommon, neither had the intention to) instead of judging the sitcoms individually, Disney has little to no intention bringing their 90s cartoons on TV again.

  • @Serdikhan And what exactly is it that u think ppl are tryin to do? Theyre not doin anything but reminiscing. No one is comparing animation to live. Youve simply been the one to get it all twisted. All the majority of us have been doin is recalling our joy of the cartoons we experienced & voiced our opinions on the cartoons of today. And you clearly havent been paying any attention to that fact. If you dont like it, go elsewhere. No one is forcing these on you. So, get over yourself & let it be.

  • @twitchinkriket Quit acting like I have no idea what people mean or are trying to say. I know exactly what they were thinking. Oh, please, there's hardly a Disney Afternoon video or a video about 90s cartoons that don't have the name of a Disney live-action sitcom in the comments. Clear proof people are compairing live-action with animation. What are they? Nuts? The ONLY place where 90s cartoons can be shown on TV would be a Disney Toon channel, if they make another one.

  • @Serdikhan Maybe on others, but most of us aren't. So you shouldnt automatically group everyone. And no, you dont know exactly what they are thinking. Youve no idea. And again, that's incorrect. because they come on on a channel that is predominately 'sitcoms'. So, I suggest before you go around claiming that you know everything & exactly what everyone is thinking you at the very least get all your facts together. Otherwise, you just make yourself look like, well, an idiot.

  • @twitchinkriket Man, you need help. You're a complete wacko.

  • @Serdikhan That's rich coming from some one such as yourself.

There you go again, judging some one you don't know & know nothing about.

You clearly are in need of some help. Maybe you need to grow up.

  • @Serdikhan then there even more hopeless then I thought. Thankfully, BOOM comics has brought some of these back as comics. Darkwing Duck included. which btw has 4 issues out and each one is selling out.

  • I miss them!!!:'(

  • I bet that today, kids won't even know who Mickey Mouse is. Let's pray I'm not right.

  • @Martinntoxx I think your right. Fuck new Disney. I never got to live through and enjoy the 80s and early 90s. I was born '94. Damn, I wish I did. I hear they are the best times ever. fuck the millennium decade! It sucks fucking cock in hell!!!

  • @lovehamsters14 you really did miss out. i'm glad i didn't miss this stuff & ones before. they're timeless works. nothing will ever compare.

  • @lovehamsters14 you're vile profanity is disgracing the very values you profess. cursing disney won't help, we actually have to try to do something about it ya know

  • @Martinntoxx i think you are.

  • @lovehamsters14 I am afraid so.

  • i still remember the lyrics to this at 22 years of age.

this song deserves to be burned to a CD and played in my car, lol

  • you know whats the stupidest thing disney has done?make a channel for boys called Disney XD.and take off toon disney.

  • Happy 20th Anniversary to The Disney Afternoon! Man, I'm gettin' old...but I sure did cherish these cartoons!

  • this show is still on in denmark

its called disney sjov here :D

  • Gargoyles FTW ^_^

I rembember most of these toons :)

  • I bet if you showed some kid today these classic cartoons we grew up with, they'll say, "Why isn't Miey Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers in it?" or "Who are they?" I'm so glad I grew up in 1996!

  • This is so awesome! I have a tape of some of it!

  • OMG the dude on the far left, isn't he from the mighty ducks anime series?

  • Disney Afternoon in comparison to what I see on TV now makes me think of the phrase "Newer is not always better..." Cartoons these days suck by comparison whereas this lineup of shows was the real deal.

  • Goliath looks so out of place...

  • This brings back so many memories! I miss Saturday Morning Cartoons. I had a Saturday off and tuned into 7am TV. All nothing but News. No wonder these kids these days have not imagination. They are being pounded with reality all the time. I've been taking the time to find all the old Saturday Morning Cartoons on DVD so that I can share this great line up with them! The late 80's and Early 90's were the best times for Cartoons!! Bring them back!!

  • We need this back desperately, all these shows now suck, Hannah Montana come on they are milking her dry, have you seen her concert photos, (everyone has weather u wanted to or not) she is a whore in disguise, fucking mistake seed of a white trash hillbilly who had a one-hit-wonder.

  • agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I remember watching "The Disney Afternoon." Its theme song is really spectacular.

  • For everyone who is interested in a instrumental version of the original, search for "Disney Festival" on YouTube, you will find the intro of the Dutch/Flemish version of "Disney Afternoon", the program I grew up with :D They aired it with that intro (Using shots from the original Disney Afternoon-intro, for that matter) here in The Netherlands & Belgium until 2005/2006 :)

  • {As I sang The Beatles lyric song from Sgt. Pepper} IT WAS TWENTY YEARS AGO TODAY! Bless You Most!

  • me too i was born 1990 and i miss thows 90S my fav 90s cartoon show was Darkwing Duck, talespine aladden grooftrupe, chip n dale. now days it diffrent shows It's not same any like use too

  • Great piece of music.

In my country (Denmark) the channel DR (denmarks radio, formerly owned by the state) it is used without lyrics on a Friday-night show simply called "Disney Show". A pity they have not translated the lyrics.

The danish show basicly consisted of a 20 - 25 minute cartoon (various ones) a classic ca. 5 minute short (typically DD or MM or C&D), another 20 - 25 minute cartoon, and lastly another ca. 5 minute classic (like above). All-in all one hour.

  • I think I'm gonna cry! This makes me soooo happy, yet so sad. I miss the 90s. . . :(

  • Long live the Disney Afternoon! It had my favorite cartoons of all time! Goof Troop, Talespin, Ducktales, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and near the end Timon and Pumba.

  • Disney should just make a totally new generation of quality cartoons (and quality stories) using Flash. The whole 3d thing is becoming too cliche. Actually, the problem with Disney is that they're trying waaaaaay too hard to make their material reflect what's going on in reality too much. People need a way to get a break from all that. And the way it used to be done was through masterful, thoughtful, and liberating pieces of imaginative art called cartoons.

  • I hope so...

  • being born in 1990 i got to see a little bit of the best of the best now my childhood is gone but songs like this bring back the good times .....somebody at disney should bring these shows back to life am i right ?

  • Goodbye, Disney Afternoon. We'll never forget you... T__T

  • god i miss the disney afternoon cartoons.

  • @lovehamsters14 Oh, please, what is there left for people to watch on this show. No new shows, no new episodes, no nothing. They made the right choice putting the Disney Afternoon to sleep. It's sure not worth waking it in this time period.

  • @Serdikhan I mean they should play the re runs, you retard!!!! Disney has made so many wrong choices. If you think this is dated, why do you even look it up???? This time period is bullshit now, they should wake ALL of the good, pure, wholesome shows, and PERMANENTLY put to sleep the brainwashing shows on Disney Channel!!!!!!!!! 3D animation is horrible. You have no soul.

  • unbelievable.

  • brings back memories.

  • I LOVE IT!! IT MAKES ME SOOOO HAPPY!!!! :D

  • I loved watch this. I wish the
