this song's great, michael would be pleased with this i'm sure, think INXS fans should be pleased they carried on, JD really saved the band and gave them a voice again.
I think there were honest intentions here, but this is just really awkward. I can't help but feel that the original members knew better. The song is a perfectly servicable ballad, but this J.D. guy just didn't have any stage presence. They just should not have gone here.

J D Fortune is not only a great singer, he's very easy to look at. Hot! He's not Michael & he does not sound like Bowie. He has his own unique style, his own voice. I would love to have an Afterglow with him. Anytime.
It's very difficult to see INXS with another but he is not bad at all, yes he does sound like Bowie, but everyone has influences, the first time that I saw INXS with the new singer I was very upset, but then I realized that these guys waited a long time and they respected Michael's memory, so they have they right to carry on, INXS was also their band, and I am sure that if Michael is somewhere watching from above he must be happy to see them playing, Cheers to all inxs fans!

I felt he sounded good, but you're both right maybe a little different. Likely more because of the illness though. A crew member said Jason had a high fever and could barely speak. The doctor gave him an injection in his neck to reduce the swelling, but he didn't want meds for the pain. We saw them not long after and JD's voice was full-on, better than the cd even. They really are a great band live. Hope you'll give them another listen :) (afterglow sault ste marie)

micheal was more than inxs,..he put his soul into his music. I think the conflicts he had with the love for tiger lilly added to his passion.... you could feel his whole being in his music. jd is very good but, some are just taken with micheal that jd won't get a fair deal.

Absolutely agree...he really knows to sing in the right way; and his voice is great too. You recognize it right from the beginning...he´s got style. And of course he isn´t Michael...but he definitely does more than a good job, and he indeed keeps INXS alive; let´s hope they don´t break up soon.
I agree. JD is great. He cant help it that he is not Michael and people dont want to give him a chance, which he deserves because he has a wonderful voice. Of course no-one can replace Michael and JD isn't trying to.People should give credit when its due. They are still one of the worlds best bands

Are you serious??? Don't be ridiculous. Michael was a part of INXS. Andrew actually has always done most of the writing. So by your logic Andrew (and the rest of the guys) can not perform music that he (they) created because one member of six is dead. They weren't "Michael's songs." They were collaboratively written in a group (of which Hutchence wasn't the primary writer).

I loved my Michael. JD is pretty good but, not as good in concert. Seen inxs everytime they were in Wisconsin, was not impressed with jd. Michael was a much more entertaining. Not to mention Hot!!! Sorry JD fans, but thats it in a nutshell for me.

I think he's good, but his range varies with each performance, michael was the same all the time, he always delivered the same with each song, he never sounded bad.
you should check out the Indian version of Afterglow...i think its bloody cool..its sung with this Indian singer -SOna Mohapatra..and she is actually quite good...just checked out a couple of her videos and they are actually supercool....a lot of versitality..you guys should check this video called Aaja ve of hers..set up in a small village -she looks gorgeous(heard she is intelligent as well!)..
michael was an out of this world performer, but he has passed, and just like anything else, his position has got filled... filling michaels boots isnt an easy task, and he isnt doing that, he is being his own performer.. so think of michael in his glory days, and let JD have the present...

saw every live inxs concert since i was 16 with michael and he is a legeng. saw jd in melbourne in '06 and i had shivers on his tracks and cried thru the originals. it's so cool to see inxs with modern arranging and playing after all this time. the band had 5 members and nice to have them playing again. from a long standing fan.

micheal was more than inxs,..he put his soul into his music. I think the conflicts he had with the love for tiger lilly added to his passion.... you could feel his whole being in his music. jd is very good but, some are just taken with micheal that jd won't get a fair deal.

I like the new INXS and JD is a good match after Hutch. What I don't like though is when JD goes into that weird "Bowie-esque pseudo British worble" thing. Just sing the song man.

yeah dang gie jd a chance hes just fine.. not so good live. its ok not bad. ive heard worse. but hes so good on the recording. give him a chance and stop bashing him. hes really good actually.

JD competed to become the lead singer and was the favourite of the actual musicians there. So where do you jerk-offs get off saying he has no talent. If you all have such great star spotting powers then how come you are watching on you-tube and producing,managing...etc. Long live Canadian talent.

I don't know what you guys are listening to, but what I'm listening to is a man with a great voice and singing great songs. Sure he won't be like Michael, but hes keeping INXS alive. JD Fortune is an amazing guy and is an even more amazing singer. :)

Absolutely agree...he really knows to sing in the right way; and his voice is great too. You recognize it right from the beginning...he´s got style. And of course he isn´t Michael...but he definitely does more than a good job, and he indeed keeps INXS alive; let´s hope they don´t break up soon.

I agree. JD is great. He cant help it that he is not Michael and people dont want to give him a chance, which he deserves because he has a wonderful voice. Of course no-one can replace Michael and JD isn't trying to.People should give credit when its due. They are still one of the worlds best bands

You got to be kidding me!!! "NO CONTEST MICHAEL HANDS DOWN" I can't even believe it has to be brought up what a "JOKE" JD Fortune is nothing but a wanabe tribute cover singer for the band now! I would have more respect for the band and this guy, if they only did orignal songs they have written together and nothing but that!!! Quit singing Michael's songs because you can't!!! Oh did I mention, change the bands name as well! INXS died when Michael left us!!!

Are you serious??? Don't be ridiculous. Michael was a part of INXS. Andrew actually has always done most of the writing. So by your logic Andrew (and the rest of the guys) can not perform music that he (they) created because one member of six is dead. They weren't "Michael's songs." They were collaboratively written in a group (of which Hutchence wasn't the primary writer).
I hate to break it to you but you're not an INXS fan but a Hutchence groupie.

VERY SERIOUS ! I've said this many times though out my comments back to people such as your self. At best JD Fortune is nothing but a Lounge Singer !!! He has no range to speak of or depth to his voice!!! Blah, Blah, Blah.... Let's not kid are self's here the band is good, but without Michael's VOICE this band would not even be known let lone famous !

The band that exsists today are a shadow of thier past glory, JD Fortune is yet another in a line of wanna be's, you cant create legends in a t.v show ! And then pass them off as the real thing! INXS had a time limit and it expired... its over!

I loved my Michael. JD is pretty good but, not as good in concert. Seen inxs everytime they were in Wisconsin, was not impressed with jd. Michael was a much more entertaining. Not to mention Hot!!! Sorry JD fans, but thats it in a nutshell for me.

Não tem como ouvir INXS atual e não comparar com a época de Michel Hutchence. Michel marcou demais a banda e sua voz era impressionante. Mas o novo vocalista merece todos os méritos por estar segurando essa barra. Ele tem uma ótima voz, presença de palco e tudo mais. Mas Michel sempre será eternamente melhor.

and for the love of God, dont you realize the difference between 2 and 20? Michael was their singer for 20 years,they released 10 albums.its almost two years for JD and he just put his voice on the album.nobody knows what he can bring to inxs in future.

Michael is irreplaceable. HOWEVER, the band was just as good and they deserve to be able to go forward after all of this time. I don't know if they'll ever be able to recapture what once was. I do like this song though.

I think he's good, but his range varies with each performance, michael was the same all the time, he always delivered the same with each song, he never sounded bad.

you should check out the Indian version of Afterglow...i think its bloody cool..its sung with this Indian singer -SOna Mohapatra..and she is actually quite good...just checked out a couple of her videos and they are actually supercool....a lot of versitality..you guys should check this video called Aaja ve of hers..set up in a small village -she looks gorgeous(heard she is intelligent as well!)..

michael was an out of this world performer, but he has passed, and just like anything else, his position has got filled... filling michaels boots isnt an easy task, and he isnt doing that, he is being his own performer.. so think of michael in his glory days, and let JD have the present...

saw every live inxs concert since i was 16 with michael and he is a legeng. saw jd in melbourne in '06 and i had shivers on his tracks and cried thru the originals. it's so cool to see inxs with modern arranging and playing after all this time. the band had 5 members and nice to have them playing again. from a long standing fan.
