I can't believe people didn't enjoy this performance. I've seen Animal Collective a few times and they were awesome at Greenman Festival. The subtleties in their music created an great atmosphere. Myself and most of the people I was with thought it was the best act of the weekend. Luckilly I wasn't near people talking.
Animal Collective completely split opinions in the festival. Literally about half of everyone i talked to loved it and the other half hated it! I couldn't get them as much as I tried, and it was a bit of a letdown in retrospect :/
Fair enough, I suppose they aren't the sort of band you can 'get' after one listen and might have been too much of a challenge for some. Ahh well, The Flaming Lips this year will surely not dissapoint.
Well yeah, I was little more than a casual fan at the time and obviously MPP blew me away, I guess I wasn't in the right mindset. And they are a band you warm to more than a band that intices. Wooden Shjips rocked the joint before these guys mind! And yes I have heard many great things about Flaming Lips live so I'm looking forward lots!
I was there, what a lacklustre performance,it's of little wonder people talked through it.I love Animal Collective and i can understand how they've gone overground..but..it was the wrong environment wrong crowd,WRONG STAGE.Their hearts didn't seem in it at all.Hope to see them soon again in a capacity club/venue.
@mwnciful I guess, sense they were the like the last band to play. they had to sit around, and a couple of them drank too much to perform to thier fullest, thats what Geologist said he also said this turned out to be one their worst shows.. still think its a good performance though, love AC
@EvanTheMute Lol. Just came from that interview to see what it sounded like. Perhaps Noah Lennox's voice is a little shakier than usual. Haha. Don't care just thought it was funny.
