  • FUCKING SHIT COCK

  • I followed your instructions and everything on the phone works as new acsept it wont read my sim or wireless signal, any ideas why?

  • i like your video and help me to learn.

  • @TechSpank Is this the same for the Iphone 4s? please answer

  • Nice Video! but doing that without taking care about ESD sounds me like a lotery to make iBricks :) a disposable antistatic wristband is cheap (a antistatic blanket is better) and you can avoid posible damage to electronic parts.

    Thanks for the video

  • Hey man hate to post asking for advice but the connect on the left from the screen to the motherboard (far left one at top) seems to be too short. Any idea why, thanks!

  • @davewilliamson1994 LOL no problem - you didn't pull the cable all the way through the hole in the frame... watch the video carefully... also make sure you didn't buy the screen for the wrong kind of iPhone!

  • @bradleychgreen Hmmm.... not sure - but I'd suggest restoring your iPhone in iTunes. If THAT doesn't work, try taking off the back and making sure that the connectors at the top of the phone are all in place. Good luck!

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmm.... definitely sounds like a connector issue. Get a magnifying glass and make sure you didn't damage the two connectors or their sockets that go with the new panel (the two closest to the camera on the back of the phone...). Good luck! :)

  • @TechSpank I did everything according to the video, the black light works, but just a gray screen with some lines, screen sort of blinks... I though it could be a damaged LCD issue, but I put my old screen back on and the same sort of issue happens, however now the back light is more lighter than the new screen... Any ideas?

  • thumbs up if you skipped through the video!! XD

  • where can i get a screwmat

  • Wow the best guide i have seen!!

  • you said the glue is why the iphone feels so solid, but if I do this, its not reglued so it wont be as stable/secure?

  • I'm from australia and when i went on phone doctor, it has iPhone 4 at&t and iPhone 4 verizon. What one should i get if i do get one? please answer

  • @Screamo6331 AT&T is GSM and Verizon is CDMA

  • i got me iphone 4 screen fixed! finally ... ty

  • I have done evry thing there i have took that cable on and off few times no diffrent and id the phone apart a few times i can't seem to find the problum. But the first time i put my phone on it worked then i had to put in a forgotten screw then since that it diden work :/ is there anything you might no i that i must of broke or damaged . Thanks for your help

  • Help i put my iphone 4 back togetther evry thing works but when i turn it on i cant pick up signal . I tryed to disconnect and reconnect the antenna cable but no look :( i would be vary thankful for anyone that might no the problum please help .:)

  • @tom14503 If you're sure you actually put the antenna back properly, try to reset the phone. If that doesn't work, you didn't put the antenna cable back properly. Remember, it might SEEM like it's there, but if the little circle isn't perfectly clicked into the little button, it's not going to work.

  • I replaced the screen and it turns on (so it works, kind of). however, the contrast is a bit vague and after a while it turns white (not completely, but enough to hardly see the screen). What do i do about it? I took it apart and made sure everything is connected, but its still doing the same thing. Is it just the LCD or is it the connectors?

  • @Sksj6789 Sounds funky.. it COULD be a faulty LCD screen. Try to disconnect the two screen connectors at the top and reconnect them. If not, try a new screen....

  • "Remember is my first time" x25 times..lol thanks for the vid

  • what do i do if one of the screws lost it's threading?

  • @professionalcm Try to use another sharp screwdriver to get the screw out a little more, then pliers or use your fingers to unscrew it the rest of the way then throw out the screw and buy a new one when you put it back together

  • can i ask what model screwdriver you're using is it a t5? i have that an a t6 i believe, dont say it's smaller..

  • @KongaGG Explained in the video... they aren't torx.

  • Ababa aha that took me 5 minutes beep beep beep lmfao!!!! Maybe I'll just pay to get it fixed seriously that's what I'm thinking who fkn made it so u have to completely gut the phone to fix the glass that's a joke bring back the days of nokia 4 screws pull apart replace and ta dar

  • I replaced my front screen but now the touch screen wont work, please help

  • @jed5837 You probably didn't reconnect everything properly along the top inside of the phone. Check the two connectors next to the camera.

  • Does this work for the Iphone 4s as well?

  • please help!!

i replaced my screen put it all together and the back only works!

there is no picture i can here it charge it still rings ect but only the back light works!!

    please help

  • where can i get one of these screens in south africa...

  • why don't you guys ship to Europe!?

  • @CHRIS90ANDES "you guys"? I don't ship anything anywhere.. this is just a video showing you how to fix your phone.

  • @TechSpank sorry sorry, i posted this comment to the wrong video.

    too many tabs >.<

  • I took one look at the length of this video and said, "fuuuck that!"

  • i dropped mine in the bathroom and it cracked now i know how to do it but my mom says i have to do everything on my own!!!

  • Thanks for the video. Just replaced the broken screen on my daughters iphone 4s. There were a few differences between that and this being the 4, but they are easy enough to figure out. We didn't have the screw pad, so we drew a diagram on a sheet of paper with the circles on them and it really helped with keeping the very very tiny screws organized.

    thanks again

  • It still dosen work . Any other ideas :/

  • Thanks man :D

  • HELP!! Please i put my iphone together and it wont pick up signel it comes up no service.? Any1 help thanks :/

  • @tom14503 reconnect the antenna

  • I don't even have the iPhone 4 I have the iPhone 3G lol

Good viewing though, loved it dude .

  • thanks man but can u tell me if i fix it by my self is going to be cheaper than apple store plase if u read my comment could u tell me and thanks man for the video keep it up

  • " place vibrator here"

  • @GLuGGycOw Officially the best comment to this video.

  • did you try turning it off and on again?

  • take this screw out 'poop' then this one 'poop' :)

  • I neither think your sexy(I'm a dude) or have a broken iPhone

  • What guide have people used alongside this video if any?

  • If I have a Softbank phone which kit should I get? All I find are AT&T and Verizon kits. Is there a difference?

  • Does it look the same inside if it's just an Ipod not the phone? and where did you get the tools ? D;

  • @Iveseenbetter14 Never mind i read the description haha

  • top video...i did it in about 2 hours..works beautiful thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The only reason I sat through this whole video is because he's hot. haha.

  • Where can i buy a new screen?

  • One of my screws won't come out..

  • @TechSpank when r u gonna make a new video

  • @MrHafeatnburito Soon soon - I just need to find the time to make them on the regular and not just one here and there... :) Stay tuned...

  • ok i completed it all now, but when i turn my iphone on the screen changes colour and has a black dot on the top right of the screen :/ can somebody help me with this problem and how to fix it ?

  • Question. If i have and iphone that has a broken screen but the touch sensibility still works great would i need to buy a new LCD screen or just the touch glass? Please help.

  • @celines0121 currently they come in one piece and you can't just by them separately.

  • @celines0121 buy the lcd and digitizer all in one ebay $40..

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS !!!!!!!! I WAS TAKING OFF THAT RIBBON CABLE BOTTOM LEFT ON IPHONE AND IT SNAPPED :( WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT ? :'(

  • @joshywaa1 If the cable ripped you need to buy whatever the cable is... you might have to buy the entire assembly.. not sure :(

  • ok so i replaced the screen like shown in vid...great vid thanks but phone is shutting down n restarting every few minutes!! please help lol

  • @DJsNorthWest Hmmmm... you might have something not properly connected... pull off the back and make sure everything is put together properly. If that doesn't work try restoring your phone in iTunes.

  • Does the simcard need to be taken out? Because for some reason mine won't come out. Also, is this the same as replacing an iPhone 4S screen?

  • @camandgrace Without the sim card being taken out, you won't be able to remove the logic board. Use a paperclip or something... no idea about the 4S but should be similar.

  • @TechSpank Hi there, how do I get one of those skrew mats so I don't lose the skrews?

  • @chicopleva2 Did you do a google search? :)

  • @TechSpank I just went to google images and printed one out.

  • QUESTION!!... i'm about to do this yet there is nothing in regards to the adhesive... what do you do to bond everything (that was previously bonded together) upon reassembly? or is there enough residual residue to make do?

  • @jlcool007 It'll still be sticky enough don't worry.

  • So i just broke my iphone doing this.. lol. 1 thing i did notice is that the speaker needs to be pushed in tight or the 3 silver things will bend outwards and you'll be in troubel, like me

  • Apple makes it so complicated so you have to go to the apple store to fix it!

  • @2008auditt They make it so complicated because it's a LOT of stuff in a skinny package.

  • I'm freaking out ahhhh where can i buy the kit?? :( i have the flower screws.. thank you so much

  • Why everywhere and everybody replaces glass with LCD? What if I have LCD not damaged?

  • yeah, I'll just risk cutting my fingers...

  • holy shit i anit doing that, not worth. i would DEFINATLY fuck something up lol

  • bada bing

  • Wouldnt the magnetic screw driver fuck up the phone?

  • Hey dude. Really great video. I just have one question. I saw on the ScrewMat that it said: AT&T. So now to my question. Are the scews more or less if you have an iPhone and live in Scandinavia? Or are the screws placed in other places if you have a phone from Scandinavia?

    Thanks!

  • @donne3434 LOL - I don't know why but that made me laugh... I believe it says "AT&T" because there are slight differences between the iPhone 4 for GSM (AT&T) and CDMA (Sprint/ Verizon). Either way the screws are pretty much in the same places and if you have a GSM phone (I'm pretty sure that's what you use there) you're good to go.

  • @donne3434 who the fuck lives in scandanavia?

  • @RatePage Your aunt.

  • @donne3434 my aunt is an asian whore! she is not scandanavian!

  • Is there any way you can send me this video?

  • well look on the bright side u dont have to het up the fuckin phone like iphone 3g

  • Was the replacement an OEM part, was the display that of RETINA quality? And, how is the screen still functioning? Thanks!

  • @AndrewIrizarry I never bothered to check the exact model number but the LCD looked exactly the same as my personal iPhone4, and the phone was given to the camera op for the show and he's still using it every day and it works just fine. :) Thanks for watching!!!

  • were can i get the mat. what name shoul i put in ebay search

  • As soon as I heard "magnetized screw mat" I was sold! THANK YOU!

  • nice thank you muchas gracciasss wow i did it ;)

  • Fuck this im going to break my phone even more by triying this il just bring it to a phone repair shop

  • mother-fu*ker i stopped watching the vid at 8:24 because the vid was to fucking long...btw. this vid rocks even if i watched a couple of mins.

  • 18 and a half minutes to get the screen off. fuck that for a laugh.

  • just cracked my 4S.... how much it costs for a repair at Apple store? Not only the front screen, the antena, and the bottom plastic parts too. I want them all refurbished. DIY in this vid seems too complicated for me...

  • my back lights work but nothing shows up:(?

  • i ordered a new screen but it never came with a touch lcd but i have one on the way but it dosent have the clips that clip in to the phone:S? help?

  • Good job guy, I was wondering if you would make it through without cursing LOL...

  • hasn't anyone ever heard of a lamp or something..? Its a little dark.

  • What's the problem if I have a blue line going down the middle of my screen

  • So you dont need the double sided tape like you would use with the iPhone 3G and 3GS?

  • Wow - all the insides have to be taken out to replace the screen? Shit! I saw a video for the 3gs where you suctioncupped the screen out, disconnected and put the new one in...not removing anything else....

    This looks crazy complicated.

  • TECHSPANK LEASE COME BACK!

  • just changed the broken glass... it took me 3 hrs ... not bcoz ur vdo was not good but bcoz the screw that came with the zeetron lcd screen I bought from amazon sucks.... I don't know why they even send those screw driver that not only screws itself but also screws the tiny screws of the iphone... I bought two of them... screwed both the penta driver or sth... the plastic to open of the screen completely messed up after I used it... those are like one time use screws and plastic...thnx 4 th vdo.

  • whats the link for those instructions on the computer?

  • you can skip this ad in 5 4 3 2 1 skip ad

  • Awesome video " you will have a lot of cursing to do" lol

  • My screen cracked yesterday this may come in handy if they won't replace it. I only got my phone less than 6 months ago. I blame the istabilizer tripod thing for the break

  • Why is there 2 circles on the top of the new screen?

  • @alicemuffins Why ARE there two.... Not "why is there 2" Those are the sensors for light and proximity.

  • Comment removed

  • @TechSpank he was meaning that's different then the original screen because it just has one long sensor on top

  • @TechSpank why weren't they on the old one?

  • how much did this cost?!

  • Fuck the screw mat. Use google to get a screw chart, print it onto paper and put the screws in that. I'm not buying a damn chart for 20 bucks for something i am going to once

  • I just followed all this steps and when i turned my phone on the screen turns on but black.. i see it turns on but its just a black screen.. it also makes noise when i connect it to charge it.. ..

I pressed the home button and the sleep button to see if that helped but nothing =/ any suggestions?

I already opened it again but everything seems to be in its proper place..

  • Make a vid

  • does this work for itouch?

  • do u lose the data when u disassemble it?

  • @TechSpank

Great vid. Quick question before I watch the rest and go at it myself:

My inner screen or whatever it's called is still in good shape but the outer screen is cracked. Do I really need to do ALL these steps and remove the entire screen when all I want to do is change the outer screen?

  • @scenicnob Yeah, as of when I made that video, there's no kit available to change just the glass :(

  • what if your now screen does not have the silver part attached

  • HAHA WHEN YOU SAID "YOU'LL HAVE A LOT OF CURSING TO DO" I LAUGHED HARD, YOU MADE MY DAY AHAHAHAHAHA

  • hey, best install ever 65 thumbs up 1 down says it all, I fixed an xperia once gees that was harder & longer, flex cables and everything.. perfect iphone 4 now!

  • @PETE4REALITY Thanks!!! Glad I could help! No go break your all the iPhones you can and tell them to go watch my video :) LOL

  • @TechSpank Bar the camera, because I didn't remove all the glass I forced the cam in with the back lid, so the cam broke ordered a new one on eBay for 7.00 delivered, not bad ehh? Yeh let's smash all the iPhones and fix em for fun!

  • This is one of all those 1000 000 000 000 000 000 reasons that you DON'T buy a shitty iphone.*

if your glass brakes, send it in to the store where you bought it from, they will fix this and you'll get it back in less then a week. FOR FREE

But with the iphone it will cost you alot. So don't go and buy overpriced shit like an iphone, they are not even good. Besides, apple know all about you, cuz they are stalkers. And steve flopps did quit his job. Finally something good from his side.. Wow.. gay

  • @xXDeViLRape WTF? I mean... really... how is that a comment on my video? And if you drop your phone, who's gonna fix it for free unless you pay (there's a keyword: pay) for accidental damage coverage? geez...

  • firstly thank you very much for the video, it was very very helpful.

I managed to change the screen and everything is working fine and good. however, I have couple of issues : 1) the volume buttons doesn't work. 2) when someone calls me it vibrates but doesn't play ring tone.

any suggestions why it like it this.

    thank-you..

  • @HopeBraveson Hmm... not sure - it sounds to me like you didn't connect one of the cables properly - re-check those 5 connectors along the top of the phone. The volume buttons and vibrator switch are all connected, I bet if you try the vibrator switch doesn't work either...

  • WOOOOW i am scared!

  • could you please show the link to the step by step site that youre on please, or do you have to buy the package in order to get to the page. i think it would be easier and safer for me to look at both while fixing it

  • @dougaldog89 You can find the step by step I used at iFixit

  • cheers for the instructions! iphone is fixed and looks amazing!

  • Did your front camera work?

lol.. last time i opened a iPhone the front camera stopped working..

  • make more vdieos!

  • ah, you made my day with your comment "at least I'm not bitter"

  • As always, Mr Papadopoulos, I just think you're sexy and like watching you doing stuff.

The stubble... The eyes... And, might I say, you're looking particularly buff these days.

    More Techspank please!

  • Great Video. Thanks for the instructions.

  • Does this mean that you will start doing more than one episode per year? How about -month-? =)

  • You make it look so easy. Are you sure it was your first time?

  • Yay, you guys aren't dead!

  • @ynkno13 Actually this was an episode with 100% ghosts.. Boooo!!

  • all that to replace a screen? I remember when it was pry and replace.

  • yes !!!!!!

  • at fukin last

  • hmmmm.

  • FINALLY!!!!!!
