I really like it . i dont see it altering the reliability at all but cant wait to see the review. About time an H&K charger was mad for it was my idea for several years :(
this seems pretty useless, just one other way to make an AK tacticool. Now they haven't given a price yet, but I am sure its not going to be well priced....I could be wrong...but that is my intuition at play
@TheSupahero oh look another condescending asshole....I was just giving my impression, if you don't agree....fine, if you got an issue with that....too damn bad.
Problem is that if someone forgets to take the safety off, he won't be able to charge it. That is not an issue when reloading but at first charging, it might be a problem. I am used to right hand loading anyway :D
@BusinessofATFE At Media Day we went through 3600 Rounds using the RCS and no malfunctions. The RCS will go through some minor improvements prior to June's release that will enhance the ease of use/ergonomics, gas flow/cooling rate, and general aesthetics. -Thanks, Edge
@burgundypoint Flag etiquette is taken very seriously in military, some police, and some civilian circles. By wearing a flag with the field of stars toward one's back, it appears that the flag is moving backwards or retreating. The American flag is never supposed to retreat; it is carried bravely into battle. So it's just an etiquette issue such as not allowing the flag to touch the ground. No doubt an honest mistake, but it does stand out immediately to some of us.
@ParabellumGroup Sorry about the shirts... we were really pissed about it. The company made the shirts and sent them out to our hotel in Vegas. We were in quick mode and didn't have months to approve the shirts. We did have them subdued and facing backwards ...but as you can see they didn't turn out that way.
get rid of the cocking handle on the current bolt to reduce weight and make for less "pull" then with a quad stack mag and an optic I would be a happy bunny :)
@LozzerGuide It's non-reciprocating so you can touch or even hold the charging handle while it fires and it won't interfere with the operation of the rifle.
I dont like how its right where your left hand should hold the hand guard.
Can you rest your thumb or web of your hand against it and use it as a hand guard stop? Or would the pressure of your hand interfere with the AK's cycling?
I think the hottie shoulda told us about this.
Not the dirty nerdy dude.

Cool idea! But I'll wait for a version with a rail on top for optics and/or lights.

My question as well. Perhaps this is marketed to SWAT teams, or very paranoid home defense people.

Once they get the rail on it I'll consider it. Gotta keep my eyes open for this one

I have no problem tilting the rifle 90 degrees and bringing my left hand under to charge it the right way. Still neat though.

If it comes with the rail, and looks nice, then I'd say it's definitely worth the money.

It's like the Lightning bolt... It's sorta useless. The AK works fine with a right side charging handle.

I wonder if this will impact the reliability of the rifle at all, beyond that it's yet another moving part or potential point of failure.
Have there been any publicly released tests done so I can see some failure rates with this installed versus without?

@BusinessofATFE No tests yet, it's still a prototype. However, I will get my hands on one once they're in production and conduct my own tests.

Your question is addressed in the video. The charging handle is non-reciprocating, so you touching it shouldn't interfere with reliability.
