  • hey, I downloaded it, but when I fire the sandbox up, or any of its things, it just pops up and closes down again

  • I might buy this, but first some more questions:

    - does it have object instancing? (I think so, otherwise you couldn't have that many oildrums at once)

    - is there an editor for ragdoll setup so I could make ragdoll bodies or ferns like in crysis?

    - does it have a particle system?

    - a weather system?

    - a sound engine?

    does te physics engine have wind or can we set the direction of the gravity

    - a day/night cycle? How difficult would it be to make a daynight cycle?

    - does the LOD system have billbording (for trees)

    - does it have builtin offset mapping

    - is vertex/polygon manipulation possible? is it fast? Could I make my own terrain editor with it?

    - does it come with that sandbox and an editor where we can set up the collision models (build them with the collision primitives)

    - can we sell the programs that we make with it?

  • -Yes, you can make tree billboards.

    -The engine has parallax mapping.

    -Meshes can be edited in real-time, but it is no-cost if you use a vertex shader.

    -The terrain commands allow you to write your own terrain editor.

    -The Sandbox editor doesn't exist yet, so no.

    -A tool is supplied for creating collision models, either as primitives, convex hulls, or triangle collision from a low-poly mesh.

    -Yes, you can make commercial games.

    oh, and 2 other things:

    1. can I attach spotlights to objects or can it anly be infront of the camera

    2. how many lines of code would I have to write to see a rotating cube onscreen? more than with dark gdk?

  • -You can parent a spotlight to any object.

    -You can have up to 8 lights onscreen at any time. The total number of lights is unlimited.

    -It would probably take about 10 lines of code to draw a rotating cube.

  • 1. Does leadwerks have ragdolls?

    2. How many lights casting realtime shadows can be there at the same time?

    3. Does it have a LOD system? (so: can we make an entity and add one or two lod models to it that switch automatically based on dist)

  • 1. Yes, but they have to be created from joints and bodies, you don't just make a call to "CreateRagoDoll()".

    2. Up to 8 lights can be onscreen at once. Hardware occlusion queries are used to cull lights on a per-pixel basis.

    3. Of course it has an LOD system. :)

  • If you ever sell this i think you will make a lot of money, it looks great the graphics is good quality all it needs is ragdolls.

  • I don't have ragdolls implemented yet. It's not so much a problem if doing it, as it is a matter of doing it in a way that is easy to control. I will add it soon.
