skinny english skenk now she is disgustingly fat all those potato chips that she eats it is a regular part of those english peoples diet. of course what could you expect from those wretched scummy limeys
@atfatw Technically, you sir, are the one who is nonsensical. Forgetting to talk about a great band and a great song, but being sure to talk about how the singer put on weight. A lot of people put on weight as time goes on. Get over it!
By the way, being nonsensical also includes calling the English "wretched scummy limeys". Think before you call others nonsensical.
@genesiscrimsonmusiKc Sorry, but I've better things to do with my precious, worthy time than to converse with stupid. grossly immature, yabbos! like you!
@atfatw Boy, is your sense of reality messed up or what? Just listen to Steeleye Span and enjoy them. Who cares how their singer looks, she's still amazing.
@genesiscrimsonmusiKc LOL, you foolish the krel do you really believe that I or anyone for that matter even cares a whit what you think about anyting barbara Cartland
Good that this is preserved. In many ways a pivotal time. All the different material and styles that had grown up on the folk club circuits over the previous 10 or more years somehow came together and got repackaged and reinvented in a form that could go out to a wider audience and indeed echo on down the years. Hard to believe Carthy was ever *that* young, even though I'd seen him in the clubs several years earlier.
My God bloody brilliant. Does anyone have some video of them doing "Hills of Greenmore"? The greatest version ever...and sounding alot like Anne Briggs' version.
We were 16 years old then. And yes were were there, plonked down about twenty feet from the stage, in front of a TV camera position, so the best you might see of us is the back of my head! Word had got around and people turned up all weekend thinking it was a full blown festival. It was a pity Sandy Denny had left Fairport two years earlier. Thanks for posting this video.
too bad there isn't more of this with better sound!!! This was one hell of a band with THE best vocal combination in recorded British music IMPO. Tim Hart, Martin Carthy and Maddy Prior!
@sirpatrickspens Yeah, I'm LOVING them!! What a fabulous find from the archives! Not sure if you're ever on Talk Awhile, but there's a guy on there who was at this event and remembers it vividly. Me, I never knew it happened till now.

@atfatw Would you rather Maddy be big with the beautiful voice she still has, or rather her be skinny and unable to sing?
And just leave the English alone, man. They gave us some of the best music of all time!
