If only a few more intelligent young Australians like Wyatt Roy would get involved in the running of our country, then we might see the end of fundamentally corrupt and self absorbed parties like Labor or misinformed egomaniacs like the Greens...
I love all the assholes jealous of what Wyatt has achieved. I bet none of you pricks could run for Parliament and beat someone twice your age in a federal election at the age of twenty.
Lets all not go talking about republicanism as if its even a marginalised fraction BETTER when it quite obviously is not. Also lets not be stupid and think the present day Green Party is anything like what its initial party roots intended it to be...Wyatt is a good kid and I reckon he'll go on to do good things and we should all hope and pray for the best in that respect.
This guy has the clarity of vision, maturity, focus and all the potential abilities to make a difference. He is a shining light amongst a generation of teenage bludgers who sponge on the populist trendy opinions that is a spreading disease today.
This is an atrocious maiden speech. Who cares about what his father taught him?!? Not only has he defined 'conservative' incorrectly, but he desperately needs to improve his diction - 'rhetoric', not 'reh-TOR-ic'. 'Influence' not 'in-FLOO-ence'. Honestly.
I still find it hard to believe a child has a seat in parliament. Goes to show that politics is a complete and utter joke. The kid has "Beau" in his name for fucks sake! I used to think the senate was the biggest joke in that horrible building but now both sides of the house are equally as laughable.
@desolationrow I'd much prefer to have a bicameral system that displays a representation of a variety of Australian citizens - including young adults. I think he has just as much a right to be a Member as any of the other 'tertiary educated, middle-upper class, Caucasian, middle aged males' that seem to dominate Parliament. If it were just these blokes, Australia really wouldn't be doing a very good job at being a representative political and legal system.
@allen4505 "To those who dare to criticise.... what were you doing at his age ? I rest my case"... What case?? I was laying my life on the line like 50,000 other young men at that time.
Remeber the Vietnam War that we were sent to fight in by politician!!
Not to forget Korea, WW11, WW1 and all wars, up to and including the last 10 years.
He is a politician because that what he has chosen to do.
My comments were directed at those who had commented prior to my reply. As you had not made a comment prior to mine, I was not directly speaking to you.
I merely asked the question 'what were you doing at that age' Obviously you were doing what was asked for by your country at the time. Our involvement was incorrect as you say.
There are others who can't even look after themselves at his age .
I thank you and all Service personnel for their service and sacrifice.
*yawn* he seems like a programmed talking head already towing the party line. Political parties should be banned from the Australian political system.
go back to your lego Wyatt
