My patience for Obama to end the war is only extended because of the disaster of our economy.
During the reconstruction of Germany after WWII there were no deaths of American service personnel.
In Iraq we deposed a horrible dictator and replaced him with chaos. The people of Iraq are not happy it, I don't blame them. They wanted us to leave many years ago. We should have.
What have we gained from this fiasco? Nothing worth $1 trillion and 45,000 dead and wounded. It's a disgrace.
I agree, we are having great success in Iraq. And Afghanistan. We have set backs. and those are mostly what the news shows the public. bet are efforts are moving the countries forward as can be expected in this sort of conflict.
This however is something most left of center are completely incapable of seeing or admitting.
The great split between the polarized left and right of American politics is the greatest failure (or success if you are on the left) that we have experienced.
If success is based is how the Iraqi economy is doing, we're not doing very well. For example, they still don't have reliable electricity in the capitol city.
If we base success on political reconciliation, we have not done well. Still, blood is being spilled over religious and ethnic differences.
If we base success on how many American soldiers are being killed, I celebrate the lower numbrs. However, zero is the number that indicates true success.
Success can never be measured by a zero number of people kill, That may be what Neville Chamberlain was going for.
The other two measurements you pick are based on what and compared to what? Saddam needed to be removed and that may be only an opinion but it is one as far as I am concerned in not up for argument. The power today is better and more evenly distributed than when Saddam was in power. The economy and opportunity for care for their family is also greatly improved.
There will continue to be blood spilled as long as people have an argument and believe the way to get their way is through violence without ever trying another means to an end. Impatience and culture are big hurdles these people have to get past and it will take generations. Are we moving the people and government forward... absolutely.
can we do it in a quick time to satisfy the left..not while Bush was in office, but I am confident now that we have Obama they will preach a longer time line
There's no question that you should call Chambliss. If you believe his lie that "We are having great success in Iraq", you should call to congratulate him on a lie well told.
If you see through his obscene misrepresentation, you should call him and let him know. His lies and Bush's too have directly responsible for the needless deaths and wounding of U.S. service personnel.

I'm not sure I understand your question.
