  • just for the sake of asking, does anyone at all know where i can buy a SX2 or a X2 for like 500.00 or 600.00 i know it's low but hey i'm not bill gates (though i wish i had his money). or would any one be interested (though probably a long shot) in selling their SX2 or X2?..i been looking all over the place and the only place i found them for less money is alibaba or aliexpress... but i don't know if they are all scammer on those sites.

  • @whatwhere harbor freight has them for $599

  • What is the holding torque of your motors? Did you replace the ACME screws with ballscrews?

  • Good Video.

I need to uplode some video of my X2.

  • the video is very good .

  • Do you have any bits for sale from your previous setup? All I want to do is power the X axis,I'm a manual machinist,I have used CNC on and off over the years and still find it takes about 5 times longer than to do it manually,CNC is fine for production runs etc where it does vastly cut the time and cost down but for one off and home stuff it just takes too long.

  • nice setup,do you get much swarf in your washing machine/washing!!I have my mill in my kitchen and end up covering the cooker in swarf!!

  • @silver760 haha joker

  • The Xylotex is Ok, but it's really easy to fry. Destroying something so expensive in such an easy manner is never a good thing. Gecko sells a driver that can't be fried. The G203V is fitted with a fuse which protects it from power variations that would cook the Xylotex instantly. It's idiot proof and only slightly more expensive than the Xylotex when reliability is factored in.

  • Ive been really pleased with the Xylotex controller and not has any problems with it...

  • that is ace computer controled i am thinking to buy a lathe of a milling machine ? help

  • Did some researching, the Xylotex's are bipolar...

All 4 wire steppers are for bipolar operation only. The reason for this is that the 2 coils inside the motor do not have center taps.

5, 6, and 8 wire steppers can be run in bipolar OR unipolar mode, because the coils have extra center taps.

  • yes while filming the video i was trying to remember which was which :) the other steppers that i have are 8 wire and ive configured them for unipolar operation...

  • How well do you like the Xylotex? Did you buy the whole Xylotex kit, or just the controller? I just ordered an X2 and the CNCfusion kit #4. I'm not sure what to do for the motors and controller though. Also, did you get the rotary table working yet and where did you get it?

  • Yes been very impressed with the Xylotex controller, in the video i mention the Y axis keys being reverse to what i would like, thats lack of experience with the program ive now switched the hot keys over

  • this controller is so much better than the first controller that i purchased which turned out to be a total waste of time. This was my very first run of the machine. The controller runs nice and cool its fan cooled

  • This machine is now fitted with the complete Xylotex kit but i was not able to purchase direct as they will not send to Europe because the solder is not rohm compliant because it is not lead free, so that was a pain..
