When using hardibacker with a heated floor, which requires being set in self leveling compound, do you first lay down hardibacker then top it off with self leveling compound which will encase the heating element. Or first apply self leveling compound to the sub floor & set the heating element and finally top it off with hardibacker?
Thanks for this great post! I'm glad I saw it prior to installing my bathroom tiles. Had no clue about having to wipe it and the tile down with a wet cloth due to contaminents. You guys probably saved me headaches down the line. Keep up the great work! Look forward to more of your informative videos.
@equalizir1 You can install it on a plywood subfloor. Just use Hardi Backer tape in the joints and install normally. Let us know if you have any other questions.
@gg707081 Absolutely. The goal is to just make sure there isn't any kind of dust or debris on the tile because you want the thinset to bond to the actual tile and nothing else.
Hi! Thank you for this video. I got about 20 sheets of Hardiebaker coming today. ;-) Doing a kitchen and bathroom. 1/4 for the floors and 1/2 for the walls. Your video is a great help.

Great video! Do you wet the Hardiebacker before placing it on the thin set on the subfloor? You did show it for the tile side of the Hardiebacker.

Can you just rinse the tiles instead of wiping each one?
