Neither Family Guy nor Beavis and Butthead brought me here. However, I definitely first saw this music video on the TMNT on VHS. When I sang this pound puppies song in class, he was like 'have you been watching too much TMNT?' I really am not into pound puppies, but I am an avid TMNT fan.
You remembered this one? did you see it in theaters when you were 5/6? i was 6/7 when i saw this in theaters and also watched the Hanna-Barbara cartoon as well cause i grew up in HB. Cooler looks and sounds different, but i still think dodger was the top dog of cartoons in the same year this came out. I remembered how when the puppies turned big and mean it scared the bejesus out of me.
@Johnlindsey289 I was 4/5 when i rented the Pound Puppies movie in my local Blockbuster and it has become one of my favorites ever since and it still is but i do agree with you about Oliver and Company being better. I know how you feel about the puppies turning evil but don't worry the power of love turned them back to normal. By the way, what does HB stand for?
@livetolovesome182 theres a new one? theres no way it can be good, not many reboots have been any good.. some of the new marvel cartoons are "ok" and the last rendition of tmnt wast "that bad" but nothing compares to the orig
@ugzz Back when the movie was still relatively new to pay cable (1989), Disney and Showtime showed this movie at least twice a day, every other day for at least six months.
Ah so you remembered this one when you were 9 years old eh? Do you agree with me that Oliver and Company was a better animated movie about dogs and cats when it came out the same year? it had better more original fresher songs, more fun, a non cliche villian who is more realistic and that sort of thing. Remember that one? 1988 was a good year for animation such as Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, LightYears, Land Before Time, Oliver, and My Neighbor Totoro, isn't that right?
Did you ever see O&C in theaters when you were a kid too? i saw it 3 times when i was 7 in it's original release in 88 and did you too had the merchandise especially the soundtrack to Mcdonalds toys? Did you also see Land Before Time, Roger Rabbit, Bambi 88 re-issue, Fox and Hound 88 re-issue in theaters in 88 too? and do you think Dodger could beat Cooler any time when it comes to hip anthro dogs?
