lol i was at walmart one time and i was just looking through the hotwheels and this guy who worked there was like, "hey, you like hotwheels?" and i was like, "yeah" and then he goes and pulls a shiny new treasure hunt from his pocket and hes like, "well, here ya go!" and then he just walked away!
great collection dutch, came across yours looking for origanal series cars. With the opening doors in the small scale, I actually prefer the smaller size cars i remember micro machines had the opening doors once. These days the only nice car i could find in the match box size with doors that open was a 2008 shelby gt 500 super snake. I actually found a 72 gran torino sport last week on the shelf and i wish it had opening doors.
Well, if you're getting first dibs from your store connection on all the Treasure Hunts and newest stuff, that's probably WHY you're the only collector in that part of Wyoming! ;) *kidding* Have fun with it. Most of us would love to have an inside connection, and would take advantage of it if we could.
your probly not the only one collecting hot wheels like that much but my causin said he has an uncle that much bedroom walls living room he even has some in the boxes like u
It's unfair how a guy from a store calls him up and he gets all the T-Hunts and nice cars. There might be children who don't collect but still love hotwheels!
5 stars.Nice buti have way ,more than that! my dad has been buying hotwheels for me since i was a little kid, but all mine are in original cases. we collect olnly hotwheels and every car, color, kind, variation, treasure hunts, redlines, monster trucks, originol hotwheels etc. i cant wait to make a vid about it. its my dads investment for me and i still cant beleive how many effin cars we got! we can find
like funkeydavid said wish I could meet you my little bro and I we're only two years apart we collect hotwheels we together only have 400 or so but,we live in York, Pennsylvania it's so crazy how people are attracted by collections and hobbies.
Rex at the toy store technically isn't supposed to let you go through the boxes. Getting all the Treasure Hunts straight outta the box ain't right man. That goes against the whole idea of the Treasure Hunt series. I still give you credit on your collection. It is a decent accomplishment.
my dad has boxes and boxes of all the original hotwheels from the very first to about 1990 he also has the first track ever made none of them are opened the ones that are arent scratched but you have a great collection too
Their is no way he is going to get 27k for that. he is crazy if he thinks he is going to get that much, i have slightly more than 2,000 hotwheel cars, i just took a day and counted them all yesterday, and i could probably get $5,000 for that. (got all the T-Hunts from 95-05 and 1 2006 and doubles) theirs still no way i could get more than 5k for all that.
Dutch is only going by the book value, it probably is worth 27k on paper but that's about it. In reality most collectors don't buy at book value unless it is an extremely rare car or they really, really need it to complete their collection. And prices and value of the cars fluctuate all the time.
@SpeedDemon702 Some one some where, WILL pay silly money for them.
A Matchbox Superfast (1969 - 1983) Ford GT in white is worth roughly 20 - 75 pound.
Metallic red 30 - 40 pound, but in yellow its worth 3000 - 4000 pound.
Its the variations, wether its colours, style of letters, different wheels etc, that hold value for there rarity, packaging errors and tampo printing errors are worth more because they would of been corrected.
dang dude thats really alsome! but what i want to know is how lon g you've been colleting and adding on to your fortion.
i am 11 and benn collecting for maby around 2 months have bing collectin but i need more lots more to be like you so if you can just comment on how long you think it will take me to grow faster.thanks
Johnny Lightnings shouldn't really be considered part of a Hot Wheel collection. It's kinda lame that you get them before any little kids, because the fun of it is hunting for them and not getting called right when they arrive. :\
Yes, It might be valued at $27,000, but the reality is not every collector is willing to pay for the slightly hard to find cars. Only the REALLY hard to find ones will go for close to collector value. And the rest... nobody will pay you for.. So the reality is his collection he paid $14,000 for may sell for $5,000 for the few gems...
Moral of the story.. dont collect to make money.. you wont in the long run. collect for the hobby.
Mr. Lynn, this is very impressive. I started collecting myself. I am into Jada, hot wheels and matchbox. I have no where near the amount that you have but I am still collecting. you have a very nice collection.
You could get a real car if you sell that.
