  • happy 80th Birthday Johnny you will always live in our heart

  • Not bad Not Bad! I love Cash all my family does and i think hes cover is very nice :) Btw Woo Manson Love that guy way more then i should XD

  • All his covers are awesome better then the real one best singer ever!!!

  • Soo good

  • most people today believes in cash and i mean money :(

  • I have a personal toilet

  • Read the Wiki article about "the man in black" and I /dare/ you to dismiss this song. If you're still unconvinced, and have read about his life story, watch his cover of "Hurt." He only, obviously, covers songs that mean something to him .. and to his listeners.

  • Wtf? This version sucks... Depeche Mode's original is a million times better.

  • @IceyBlueSteel Personal jesus is originally from johnny cash

  • @kilian227 Oh really? Personal Jesus came out in 1989 on the Depache Mode album "Violator". Johnny Cash covered this song in 2002 on the album "American IV".

    Get your facts straight buddy.

  • @IceyBlueSteel i looked it up , and yes i was wrong , in this case i apologize to you. depeche mode was the first

  • @kilian227 Still Johny Cash better than depeche mode!

  • @Sketch1994 The Cash version is marvelous but the Depeche mode version is a masterpiece so impossible to compare both....Wait for the Bieber version to have a serious compare

  • Comment removed

  • yes, perfect song, still after years I love it!

  • hushshshshsht!! you don't have to believe in Jesus in order to believe in this song. shut up and listen!

  • defo the best version.

  • THIS IS THE BEST VERSION!!!!

  • Johnny Cash is the best!

  • So boring, im prefer manson´s version, but mostly i prefer the original by DM

  • ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr

  • depeche mode: approved! we believe now!

  • I think this is best version of this song

  • Cash will make you a "believer", how ironic was that?

  • Comment removed

  • I heard somewhere that John Frusciante is the one playing guitar on this.

  • I'm my own, personal, Jesus.

  • @baduglymonkey Wow you will go to hell.. O_O

  • So much better than Manson's song.

  • @doobbbb yeahhh

  • @doobbbb Depeche Mode. Manson did a cover like Cash did.

  • @rbh1138 i know but this is the best version

  • click thumbs up if you've heard "aint no grave" by johnny cash

  • Golly, retards--of course it was a Depeche Mode song--then also covered by Marilyn Manson.I think the Johnny Cash version is the best.

  • i adore this song

  • who the fuck are you

  • I had no idea this was a cover until a little while ago.

  • how in the fuck did i not know johnny cash did this song first, all southen baptist preachers like johnny cash-----but they shit their pants if you recite a prayer in latin, then they get all bible beaters to beat you if they hear you mentiojn marilon manson.

"Those persecuted and victimized in the past become todays perpretators and persecuters"

free thinking is a serious crime in the christian eye, --freethinking has become their "satan"

spelling and grammer errors? i dont give a fuck

  • @nukeleus1 this song was originally done by depeche mode

  • @nukeleus1 Depeche Mode did the original version.

  • Comment removed

  • @nukeleus1 He didn't. And the word is "Grammar" not "Grammer".

  • how fuckin cool is this song

  • @jzewizz This is John Frusciante his guitar riff!

  • this man could cover the shit out of anything!

  • @MegaMagicman20 Hope you don't consider the original as a shit out?? :-)))

  • i <3 marilyn manson's version. check it out snakes! it's a gooden!

  • @MissBrookeAlisa johnny cash was better

  • @MissBrookeAlisa marilyn manson? you mean THAT poser? what about megadeth or venom! thats REAL metal!

  • GTA San Andreas ;]

  • When i first heard this song i thought it was about guns.... i dont know.

  • marylin dude how dare u steal from the master

  • @mikespimpcane from depeche mode? they weren't "masters". pretty good tho

  • @mikespimpcane Depeche Mode definitely weren't masters. If you're saying Johnny Cash as a master then I agree but he didn't write the song.

  • Brilliant,flawless,RIP Johnny...

  • Everyone's Jesus is just a personal Jesus/inner ego.

  • I have a personal Odin.

  • I love this guitar an voice.

  • why has this les vieuw than justin bieber?! johnny cash for ever ♥

  • @theananasvlogs because most of bieber's views are from people going onto the videos to just hate on her

  • Like this version better then original

  • how can you dislike this song?! *poker face*

  • marilyn mansons remake of this song was much more hectic

  • Rick Rubin asked ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante to re-work an acoustic version of Martin Gore's song, which featured a simple acoustic riff that stripped down the song to a blues style. <3 John Frusciante.

  • Johnny "The legend" Cash <3

  • Jesus christ... This song has no god damn religious significance. "Your own personal jesus" means that people need to find something tangible in their life to believe in and to rely on for support, not the invisible man in the sky or the flying spaghetti monster. How this could be mis-interpreted is beyond me.

  • @celcius119 In Johnny Cash's later years he was a VERY religious man. I'm sure Jesus Christ is exactly who he was talking about.

  • @ctrifiro oh and than this isn't a johnny cash song from the beginning.

  • @celcius119 Sod off. I've got nothing against athiests in general, but I detest fanatics who can't listen to a good song without insulting other people's beliefs.

  • @ceciburwell almost 99% of all the people listening this song, don´t do it with religious reasons, who are you trying to impress?¬¬, and it spells "ATHEIST"

  • I used to like this song interprted by depeche mode, but listening the johnny´s version i love it

  • Fuck every "religious" or "non-religious" hate comment. This song have BALLS, is awsome and was made with feeling.

    Thumbs up if i'm right.

  • <3 Johnny Cash

  • if your atheist, at least learn how to spell it right @ Cecilburwell lmao

  • @maxtherussian56 That would be "If you're atheist" not "if your atheist." Unless he has his own personal atheist. Which could also be fun. Heh.

  • I'm ateist

  • @Gravyjigster hey im athiest and i like this song. Dont be so stereotypical. Just because im athiest doesnt mean i cant like this song.

  • the mode

  • John Frusciante !

  • Jesus.... He's fuckin the best

  • Johnny cash for the fuckin win

  • @Smorgasbord341 i ist 1 minute old an i lieks teh jauhnneh caush.....

  • @TheSukram88 Are you by chance handicapped?

  • @TheSukram88 13 actually

  • Fucking old man. Cant sing for shit. JK, I LOVE HIM <333333

  • this is fuckin savage i love it !!!!!!!

  • I love johnny cash and i'm <18. You'll like this cause i'm younger than 18 and I listen to johnny cash :)

  • checkmate, atheists.

  • @gravyjigster why? what did you win to be exact?

  • strasimpaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I also love johnny cash and i'm dead :O

  • porwsi.-

  • marilyn manson's version makes me want to shoot heroin

Cash's version makes me want to get drunk on hard liquor

  • Sztum Polen seba Dm.

  • And I thought it was a Manson original, I am a dumbass

  • Wikipedia: "Johnny Cash recorded "Personal Jesus" for his 2002 album American IV. Producer Rick Rubin asked Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante to re-work an acoustic version of Martin Gore's song, which featured a simple acoustic riff that stripped down the song to a blues style. Frusciante plays guitar on the track, along with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell."

    [edit]

  • I'm no believer but Johnny Cash is the best!

  • @PinoDeNerd Didn't you lift up the receiver?

  • I'll take Depeche Mode's original any day of the week, imho.

  • @seanboy316 This IS the original, stupid ass.

  • @senorcharlie1 This isn't the original, Depeche Mode's was the original over 20 years ago.

  • @senorcharlie1 lol, you're on the internet and can't do a little research? Oh the irony

  • This song is NOT originally Depeche mode, or Johnny Cash. Although i reeeeally like DM's cover.

  • @inhalethispoison yes it is. who do you think originally did it? it was written by martin gore.

  • @gpenn2 They think Marilyn Manson probably did it first hahahahaha @inhalethispoison, you're a dumbass. Depeche Mode did the original and will always have the hit and better version with it. Learn your music before you start acting like you know shit

  • Beter than original.

  • I absolutely love this version. If i didn't know that this was a cover I would totally believe that this was a Johnny Cash song. Haha

  • this is real music

  • Amazing version of Johnny Cash !

  • amazing cover johnny cash is such a great musician I love how he made this song all like bluesy

  • 5 people have not reached out and touched faith.

  • @Mu553ls

I haven't touched anything and I like this song.

  • As always, Johnny Cash is able to take a song and make it haunting.

  • @MrPlayFox shut your fuck up!

  • @MrPlayFox asshole!

  • @MrPlayFox I your opinion. This doesn't make it so. Personally, I think this is the best version full stop. Just my opinion though.

  • @MrPlayFox fuck you

  • Han stjal fandme denne sang fordi han ikke kunne lave noget originalt mere selv !!!

    Den TYV !!!

  • if this had some slide guitar in it it would make it the best thing ever.

  • @heinygore2 agree. cheers.

  • Jesus told me to come here. He said "Trust me... u'll love it..."

  • This is by Depche Mode retard.

  • As a child of the 80"s,,,, I liked it, at least I can understand the words (yeah!)Beat was good..Wished I wasn't so popularized that I missed him this way...

  • House of the Rising Sun and music like this makes a man physically control his own fate.

  • Προσωπικος Ιησους

  • personally i like johnny cash but i feel mansons better mostly cause this song fits him more and i dont like this style music...but this is still great :)

  • @Jimi4200 john frusciante helped this too! dont forget!!!!!

  • better then that crappy manson version

  • prefer cashs vers.Dunno why just mach with the song and lyrics i gues

  • His cover is by far the best I've heard.

  • @usedtobeemo manson did a great job

  • @bigcountry1903 I love Manson's one, but I think I prefer the Cash one.

  • Comment removed

  • He didn't pull this one off sadly. Hurt he did a good job on, but this one doesn't sound right at all. He had good music choices though, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode are pretty groundbreaking as far as new music is concerned. Not bashing johnny at all, just saying this one didn't come off well.

  • @supermanacf oh i don't know, he adds a certain something of himself, a personal take i suppose

  • he sounds like he has no motivation :|

  • this version makes me wanna shoot whiskey.

  • johnny cash kicks ass even after death.

  • @naattori2000 cool ^^ i grew up with this music i love him.

  • i love johnny cash and im 12

  • Depeche Mode's singing with his guitar playing would make it much better. Nothing against Johnny Cash, but his singing, at least in this song, is awful!

  • @FordExplorerFanatic There is a version similiar to this- it was on the Personal Jesus LP- acoustic version.

  • ich liebe ihn ;)

  • this is the best version

  • @DAVEAGENT yeah this is much better then the crapy marilyn mansion cover

  • Not his best work by any means, but there's no denying this is good stuff. I do prefer the Depeche Mode original.

  • Great cover.

  • 4 people didn't pick up their receiver.

  • jonny u r still in our hearts! u r our personal jesus!

  • I love this version and Marilyn Manson's both do this song justice , from a devotee x
