In my opinion, you are right. That double jeopardy clause is a good idea. But cases like this, abusing this very thing, is absolute horse shit. He should rot for what he did.
"I'm not going to congratulate you, Isaac, for getting away with murder, -because quite frankly you are a terrible human being and-you-should-rot-away-in-hell - BUT.. Good work, Isaac, ..."
I agree with the double jeopardy law, but there should be a law if they admit to the crime later on they can still be sent to prison. They need to do something about cases like this.
@DD360ELITE Double jeopardy is the rule where if you get tried for something once, and they find you not guilty, they cannot try you for it again. Keep in mind, it must be the same exact crime. If they try you for second degree murder and you get away with it, admit to first degree murder, they can try you again. I have no idea what you're talking about o.O
And you shouldn't be tried again. Did you not listen to Jon's point?
Dude your vidoes rock.. how do you do the images that you have on screen and how do you do those backgrounds.. as a fellow YT'r I am amazed by your work, help a brother out

I've lived in VT my whole life i remember this. Hell i've friends that knew declan and that have worked at flatbread in the past and i've stood not ten feet from were he was killed.
Jon, every Chanel that has ads on it. I close it instantly and unsub their channels. but I'll keep yours. I agree with this law. it has it's negatives. but everything in life does. :D
@garshmanager i should make myself clear, i feel that Jon's videos are worth me putting up with ads. it really was a compliment to jons videos. those others I unsubbed from. I didn't feel their videos were worth watching and Ad first.
hey bear in mind double jepordy dosent just protect the guilty from a overbearing justice system but also the innocent. weather you agree with virdicts or not sometimes good people get pinned for crimes they dident commit and bad people do get away... but at the end of the year you hope that the good in justice outweighs the bad.
Wait, so let me get this straight. Man murders his co-worker, man is found not guilty, YEARS later he calls the police station and confesses to murder, man gets away with it because of double jeopardy
@ToonWatcher3000 No, he cant. What cant happen is him going to court for the same murder, but the police CAN put him in jail for any other crime, like... another murder. Hope i explained myself.
Well your laws are better than in the UK, one person was given a 6 month jail sentence for simply walking through a riot area in London on his way home from work! he didnt do anything wrong, just the wrong place at the wrong time!
I personally believe that you should be able to retry and sentence someone again if you have new solid evidence. Because even though something like this is rare where someone owns up to the crime only after they'd been cleared doesn't necessarily mean that theres not many more guilty people walking free and not confessing thereafter.
"prosecutors never denied that they did not have a motive for the crime, but were hoping that lies Turnbaugh had told police -- as well as his confession at the party -- would help them to prove premeditated murder." Yah - we all know how that works. I really am suprised that being a male- he didnt go to prison even with no real evidence. Ou system is completely sexist. (Casey Anthoney needs to die.) Thats better :)
(Casey A.)
Issac is probably TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLing his way home and telling all of his friends about his massive achievement. How often do you get away with first degree murder and later confess to it and nobody can do anything about it? Not only did he avoid possible execution, he avoided the punishments that could've been sentenced. This is a massive flaw in the American legal system, and needs to be fixed. Fuck the fifth amendment! Double jeopardy should only be in a certain game show! (and various Japan
@K2ACP As with all of the first ten amendments, they were put in place to insure freedoms. This "double jeopardy" clause in the fifth amendment is there because innocent people were tried, found innocent, then some other evidence that later incriminates him, then convicted in colonial times. This law protects Americans from this. It's just this happens sometimes to actually guilty individuals and it's just too bad.
@MarkZZcom sure, however, new evidence many times almost always makes it possible to know the truth that much better. considering jon said that this guy just told the police that he was guilty, he could've just been messing with them, knowing that they can't do anything about it. back in the colonial days, they did not have various forensic techniques that we have today. I say you can retrial if new evidence shows up however a minimum of 10 years after the first trial, without any retrials after
@Jon- i don't know about that Jon. After the Casey Anthony thing they found more evidence that may have proved her guilt in the murder of her daughter. But they couldn't hold trial because they already found her innocent. I'm just saying that it does seem to be coming up more often now.
here is what happened killer: hey jack man did you get me those pornos i asked for? jack: oh sorry man i forgot to get them killer: its ok man just dont forget next time k jack: ok killer: so how was your night last night jack: great man i did it with some amazing fox! killer: oh ya what was here name jack: amanda tupac killer: my wifes last name used to be tupac before i marryed her you asshole you slept with my wife! jack: well um sorry? killer: fuck you (stabs jack) the end
This pisses me of cause people like Ronnie Radke (former vocalist of Escape The Fate) get arrested for stuff that they didn't even do. But this guy is free after admitting for something he actually did.
@Jon I hope you check all your comments. If you haven't heard, Sony and Sucker Punch, creator of the Sly Cooper series, announced at Gamescom that they are releasing some inFAMOUS 2 DLC in October called inFAMOUS 2: Festival of Blood.
