There seems to be some confusion about the japanese particles, so let's sort them out :)

This is Sparta: As pointed out, he sais "kore ga sparta no ryuugi da!" In this case, he could just as well use "wa" instead of "ga", but "ga" is used as an emphasizer. It has the same effect as putting "This" in italics would have english. (THIS is the spartan way!).

As for John and Sarah, the correct writing would be "John wa Sarah ni atta". [Wa]=subject marker, [ni]=marks the object he met, [atta]="met".

In the desc. you say: "so about in this scene, "kore ga sparta no ryuugi da !"" But I think he says "Wa" instead of "Ga" and I'm pretty sure this is correct because he is trying to say what 'This' is so 'This' (Kore) is the subject of the statement, and you mark the subject of a statement with 'Wa'. I could be wrong but I think 'Ga' is used with verbs like 'To Like', e.g. "Sparta Ga Dy-Suki Des" (spelling), trans: "I really like Sparta". His statement better translated: "This is the Sparta way"

@BLAMEYOURANYdotCOM From my whole 3 days of studying Japanese (lol), I believe that "-ga" is used to indicate the "actor" of a sentences (John is the actor in "John met Sarah"), while "-wa" is used to indicate what is the topic of the statement; "John ate cake": is the point of the statement that a person named John ate cake, or that there was a cake that was eaten by John?

But from what I can tell he says "kore-ga".

"Wakale Masen" xD ('I don't understand' in Japanese) But if you were to say "John Met Sarah", from what I know it would translate to: "John Wa Sarah Wo (past, positive form of 'to meet' - I don't know what this word is)". So: "John Wa Sarah Wo 'Met'." John is the Subject (don't use the word 'topic', it's not the same as subject in this context), Sarah is the Object and 'Met' is the verb.

This is the "jo"-sound written in katakana, The "Z"-sound isn't far off though, since "Shi"/シ is in the "S-line" (sa/shi/su/se/so). Adding two dots to any of those makes it a Z-sound instead ("Sa" -> "Za"/ サ -> ザ, or "za/ji/zu/ze/zo"). However, "shi" is the lone exception in that line, and goes from shi to ji when you add the dotts(シ -> ジ). ("Ji" as in "jiggly"). When added a small yo/ョ, we get jo (ジョ).

The sign means "meet"in itself, and serves as the "stem" of the verb, much as "smile" is the stem in SMILEs or SMILEd, ie it doesn't change. If we used kanji in english, we could use for example =) instead of "smile". For example: "She smiled to me" -> She =)d to me", or "He smiles all the time" -> "He =)s all the time".

Likewise, 会う/Au is "meet", 会った/Atta is "met" etc.

Though "ryuugi" could be translated to "style" exactly, this word put mean "a suitable way of do the thing for one's own self".

so about in this scene, "kore ga sparta no ryuugi da !" meaning "this is the suitable way for Sparta to respond to Persian's request !"

"desu" is courtesy style to saying.
